Facts, one of the most slept on trip-hop masterpieces of all time, lush narcotic beats and some of the finest lyricism you'll find in this lifetime or any other, truly a timeless classic. Also, after 27 years this album was finally reissued on vinyl a few months back through the excellent Music On Vinyl who did a fantastic job as usual, great bass response, no pops or surface noise, absolute silence in the deadwax, a top shelf pressing! They only pressed 750 copies though so grab one now or face the flipper surcharge...
With a nice weed buzz after a nice night of drinking. Damn I miss my weed... I'm too old (41 now!!! YIKES!) to be up listening to good shit in the small hours of the morning... Ah the good old YOUNG days... BEFORE Smartphones.!!
wow...I'm listening to that tune first day again after 20 years ! Remember how I loved it in the past and...wow...it's still fabulous. feels great. If I could make a wish...give me a time machine to discover UK's music scene of the 90ties !
Yup. Mainly Bristol. So much great Trip Hop music came from Bristol, I remember I went there one time to see a gameshow Deal Or No Deal be filmed with my college, really nice architecture out there, I'd love to go back one time
After the production of the EP stuff, they put out this album..and that was it, to this day these songs are used in compilations of chill sessions, lounge and trip-hop...I saw some albums that were created before Crustation's Bloom, I think it has fallen apart long before we even knew it existed. The singer has a book out, has a facebook account too if you wanna check her, the other guys...no trace
Potroh...had to leave this message mate. I've had "Down, Down", for quite a while before getting to burn and listen to it from my music locker. Slevin's vocals with the same vibez off Sneaker Pimps and Portishead via the production on this are GEM precious. I truly appreciate the upload.....
@@hexyko4850 it is funny because the album is not very well known NOW (the electronic music canon is very reductive), but it was very present on (indie) radio stations back then, and Crustation was in many compilations of the era so they had a lot of exposure. I mean, Jive was the album label!
Dieses Album habe ich vor ich weiß nicht wie langer Zeit gekauft. Ich was bei meinem CD Dealer meines vertrauens und die CD lief grad. Ich musste sie sofort haben! Ich höre sie immer wieder gern. Einfach zeitlos.....
One of the girls from university times have played this to my ears. I had a crash on her, even when I was in serious relationship. If you see this, Agata, feel free to write to me. Why not? And this album is just a hidden gem of the game.

@@MrHzi J Dilla made a remix of the Purple called “Purple (ATCQ Remix)” which is an absolutely amazing song in its own right. That was sometime in the 2000s. Mac Miller rapped over that remix in the early 2010s. Just search “Mac Miller Purple”. I personally would suggest you listen to the J Dilla version first because it’s such a masterpiece.
I just find it hard to accept that this was just a one-off for everybody involved. It's not like other debut albums, it feels like they're holding back and not throwing all of their talent at it in one go, which means that they probably could have made a long steady stream of good albums like Portishead did. OH WELL
Real real shame this album is not OFFICIALLY available via RUclips Music, and auto generated as a RUclips Topic channel, so that we could get all 10 tracks released in good quality. Wow, Christy Moore Ride on cover is amazing. With the singers name too Bronagh Slevin she's definitely either Irish or had Irish parents.
One of my top 3 trip-hop albums :)
@@jamdun3043 with Mezzanine and dummy for me ;)
This is a hidden gem of '90s-era trip hop. You'd think being on Jive Records, it would have gotten more publicity.

One of the best albums ever recorded.
Yes one of the very very best ever, so timeless and magical almost hypnotic surrealistic
I read 1q84 by Murakami Haruki with these brilliant record as background music when i was in college.

Face The Waves is absolute 90s downtempo perfection.
I just commented on it myself! GREAT MINDS!...! Cheers!
This is one of those albums best enjoyed in the small hours of the morning.
How did you know? 😂
Trip Hop is the most "nocturnal" genre I know of. It feels tailor made for late at night, when the world around you is quiet and empty.

Just bought this on CD for less than 3 quid :D
Now this is an album to can satisfy one's earholes...
It's hard to get more 90s than this 10/10🙌🏼
Flame is a lost 90s anthem. I really don't get why they disbanded. They would've been massive
agustin oviedo I honestly believe this to be true.
They got scared because they were getting too famous, same as Monk & Canatella; none of them were ready for it.
