Special thanks to Julianna Miller. She’s the original creator of this nutcracker and her build inspired mine. Her work is impeccable and without her nutcracker, I wouldn’t have been able to create such a great build. Her Facebook page is called Quite Corner Crafting with Julianna. Check it out!
Part 1 was one of my first RUclips videos and unfortunately, I did not know how to properly edit, splice and create a detailed tutorial video. Part 2 aims to clarify many of the questions that were asked and help those create their very own Giant Nutcracker. - Хобби
Love that you added more detail to help recreate!!! Still one of my favorite builds!!!🌲💙

I stumbled upon your channel in my feed and I have to say that you have some very amazing yet doable DIY projects. Thank you for the thorough detail, it gives me the confidence to tackle these myself. Again, just wanted to say that you have great content.
Thank you so much for the awesome and sweet comment Veronica. I try to make things that are otherwise difficult into easier and simpler projects 😊
Thank you for sharing your idea. You inspired us to create 2 for our house this year. I am so thrilled with them. I did go a little overboard with the embellishments...they are stunning, if I don't say so myself😉

Thanks for this awesome message, Joe! I’m glad to have you as a new subscriber! Welcome! I’m glad you’ve watched my projects haha they’re neat aren’t they? Candy canes were such a surprise for me cause I didn’t know if it would look awful. I guess I did good

You can add light to the hands

They’re neat aren’t they? 😊
Oh!!! my spider came out great! Ill have to figure out how to share that with you!!!
You can send me pics on my Facebook. Search “Isaac Alexander DIY”. Would love to see how it came out
You did a GREAT job! Question: Are you able to take him apart and piece him back together? You didn't say how long the concrete tubing was 😮
I finally got mine done. He took about a week and ended up about 5'7" after adding the base.
Oh that’s awesome! Glad you made one
Perdón saludos fraternales desde tecoman Colima mexico
Great job!! Where did you get the buttons used on his jacket? Thanks
Sorry for the delay in replying!
I used these buttons from Amazon.
I don’t think the seller has them anymore but now you know the size and the style I got

Nice! How many drain pvc pipes did it take for you to make the arms and legs I’m thinking of making two and having them on the porch?
My apologies for the late reply, for some reason RUclips isn’t showing me all my notifications. I only had to buy one PVC pipe. The arms and legs are each 2 feet long so an 8 foot long pipe should be enough
Did you link the products from Amazon like the fur for hair hair and pizza pan?
great video love the nutcracker he's very hansome what did you use on his shoulder cover? did I miss something??
Sorry for the late reply. It’s a PVC end pipe cover. I listed the link in the bio of the video. Hope that helps
If Mrs. Mo see's this, I know what I'll be building next year. . .
Haha better start collecting the materials needed
@@IsaacAlexanderDIY hahaha! Yeah, that's right! My channel currently has mostly cooking, cast iron and gardening but I'm getting ready to start filming of projects. 2021 is busy with my "Christmas Came Early" series (check my Instagram for now) and in '22 I will be loading more woodworking content, so wish me luck (and likes and subscribers)!
@@bigmocountry this is so awesome, I’m actually looking forward to see what you do in the coming year. I need to produce more gardening video content because that was actually my original passion. I’ve always been about gardening and growing things
@@IsaacAlexanderDIY yes, follow along with me and I see your Tulips vids. I will check those out next. I'm about to drop a "Christmas Came Early Part lll" over on my IG... and it's gonna be garden related content. Just...gotta... film and edit. 😆
And I'm my own editor now so RUclips are coming much slower than the original vids did... but, I'll be back on this platform soon-ish!
Very cool but what did you do for the shoes and nose? I’m so glad I stumbled onto your channel I’m loving it:) tfs stay safe and God Bless:)
Hello Barbara, my apologies for the late reply. The shoes are actually an energy drink can that was cut in half and spray-painted black. His nose is a piece of 2“ x 4“ wood that’s been cut at an angle and painted
@@IsaacAlexanderDIY You are so incredibly talented!!!
Con eso me pongo a armar el mío y darles una hermosa sorpresa ala familia ,grasias
👋🏾 helloooooooo.. thanks for sharing, I definitely noticed your growth in video making/editing (live and learn) .. I noticed at the end of this video a Christmas sign out by your"brick" gate.. I adore it 😍 can you share where it came from? Please & Thank you ☺️
Thank you for that, I’ve definitely improved from the early days where I did not know anything about editing lol. I’m assuming you’re referring to the sign that is over the driveway, correct? If it is I’m made it. I cut th letters out of poly board and painted them
@@IsaacAlexanderDIYthank you. sooooooo talented..lol.. Why isn't there a video up for it.. I'm sure your followers would watch and support it along with me🥰
@@jazzimomm1 there’s no video because nobody has ever asked about it before
Looks great! What did you use for the feet? Are they screwed in as well?
They’re actually monster energy drink cans that have been cut in half and spray painted black, I used a little bit of hot glue to attach them to the bottom
Great, thank you!
What were the colors you used?
Can you tell me what the measurement is from one end of the moustache to the other end?
hello, can you recommend something to use to create the Bust? unfortunately I can't find the cardboard tube, thanks I follow you from Italy🇮🇹
Ciao! My apologies for the late reply. Unfortunately I do not know what other alternatives you could use other than the sono tube (concrete form tube) It needs to be a cylindrical item but I am not sure what other item you could use to make a shape
You can use metal ductwork tubes. If you can’t find large enough ones, buy flat sheet metal and rolling them to size and securing them with pan head metal screws.
@@danielwalcher779 Thanks so much
@@IsaacAlexanderDIY Thanks so much
I’m still working on my solider. Question…..I see in your original video you’re painting the legs which I believe are made of pvc.
What did you use to paint the legs? I see your using a paint brush. So I’m assuming you Used house paint. I know you said you also used dry lock to weather proof, did your use that on the pvc as well? Sorry for all the questions! I spray painted my arms the head and the hands but I really hate spray paint
No DryLoc was used on pvc. I only used exterior latex paint for the legs and arms. After you paint the body (torso, head, hat) with DryLoc, then you can use your choice of exterior paint
I don’t like spray paint for the same reasons you don’t. The most important thing though is to use DryLoc on the concrete form tube (sono tube)
@@IsaacAlexanderDIY ok I got ya. I am not using the concrete form tube. I kind of meshed together a few different people’s ideas.
👍🏼👍🏼🎄🎅🏼
Thanks again River! You the best
What did you use for shoes and how did you attach pls
They are monster energy drink can that was cut in half and spray painted black. I used hot glue to attach
Upload Christmas rinder
any chance i can talk you into making a rat king and rest of the nutcracker group?
Hello. Did you use cardboard tube for arms and legs or pvc? Thanks
No it’s PVC. Let me show you part 1
ruclips.net/video/eaeGunj8TJ0/видео.html
What did you use for the hair?
I put a link in the description of the video for the hair
Get the pizza pan from dollar tree
You could not sure they’re stainless steel which won’t rust
What’s the length Of the arms and legs? How tall is the hat from the top to the bottom where the face starts, what’s the width of the face from the bottom of the hat to the clothes? No one ever gives this information! Thanks love the nutcracker!
Hat area is 12in, face area is 12in, “body” area is 24in. Arms are 24in. Legs are 24in
@@IsaacAlexanderDIY thank you so much!!!
Hi... can you provide the design you used on your face... I've been trying but it doesn't look as nice as yours... thank you
I uploaded a downloadable PDF file
of the face in the new nutcracker I made. Check out my page. I posted the video about a 5 weeks ago, check it out ☺️
How did you weather proof it?
I’m sorry for this horribly late reply, for some reason RUclips isn’t showing me the notifications for every video. I used a weatherproofer called DryLoc, it comes in white and gray. It doesn’t matter what color you use because you still have to paint it with the colors of the hat, the skin and the red coat. After you paint it with dryloc, you have to let it dry and then apply a second or even third coat. That way it’ll be weatherproofed
@@IsaacAlexanderDIY well as long as you’re don’t worry about this late reply! I didn’t get a notification for your comment either! Lol! Thank you. I am familiar with Dry lock. We used it in the bathroom I think! Lol. I am building a soldier right now. Can’t wait until it’s done!
What are his feet made out of? I couldn’t find that in the videos.
Sorry for the delay in replying. It’s actually an energy drink can that was cut in half and spray painted black
I hate you !!!!! I hate you !!! I hate you !!! Well not really. I have wanted a nutcracker for a long time to put out for Christmas but didn't want to purchase one because then I"d have to store it. Yours's looks it can come apart and store mainly in the body. Also pretty sure I could but one together following your excellent instructions. OH - the "hate" part (read with lots of sarcasm) comes because now I'm going to have to find time to build the sucker. Thanks much for the idea and video !!!!
🤣🤣🤣 well I’m
glad this is the good type of hate haha Technically yes, it’s rather simple to take apart. I normally store it by disconnecting the body from the legs and the arms from the shoulders
I made 2 small ones
How did they come out?
Love them! They came so cute
The nose what size is it please.
It’s a piece of 2x4 wood that’s been cut at an angle. So it’s probably 5inches
@@IsaacAlexanderDIY thank you
