Have you ever noticed that some women seem to receive everything? From attention and compliments to unlimited favors and lavish gifts? While other women seem to be completely ignored and left to struggle as if they’re invisible. While an attractive appearance helps, that isn’t the entire story. Because I know we’ve all seen some conventionally pretty girls struggle and some so called average girls get pampered. So there has to be another component. And that's what I want us to talk about today. This component is called receptive energy. Unfortunately, many women never understand or embrace this energy and for various reasons they end up extremely uncomfortable with receiving either viewing it as something they don’t deserve or something that makes them appear weak or vulnerable.
One of the biggest differences between the women making life comfortable for themselves and those who are struggling is that ability and willingness to receive. Learning to embrace this energy will not only allow people to do for you and give to you but it will actually make them want to do it over and over again.
So, if you’re interested in exuding this energy, struggling less and receiving more than ever there are five tips I’d like to share with you.

I used to have this boss who was so amazing. People would regularly give her stunning bouquets of flowers. I always wondered how she did that. She didn't gush (at work, anyway), but she was a beacon of light & a consummate professional. I think a lot of us have a hard time asking for things when we have trauma. I’ve had a hard time learning how to let my guy take care of me. He takes me out, gives me gas money, mentors my young son and even does laundry for me. I’ve met his parents and they’re amazing.
It’s been three years since I left my ex who was abusive though. It’s taken a lot of therapy and work to get back to the real me, the hustler and the go-getter.
Same, only I haven’t began therapy. But I have a hard time disengaging from the independent, survival mode.

It’s good to be in environments or geographic areas where it’s easier to be feminine and less on guard, especially as Black women living in America where most men have been socialized under a misogynoir regime. When I’m around African and Caribbean men, I don’t have to do much. My husband is Nigerian. I am Jamaican so I know the difference engaging with American men vs. non-American. We go to an all-African church and the men look out for the women and children with their lives. It’s really beautiful and I wish I could replicate that energy all over the entire country.
Just last month, my man asked me what i wanted and I said NOTHING 😭, Less than 5 minutes, i realized my phone was bad and i needed alot of things .......thank you for this eye opening video 🙏

It's always been hard form me to wamrly receive until I started working under my new boss who's Christian. He always says "I never turn down a blessing", "never turn down a blessing" and "sometimes you can bless people by accepting what they have to give". So now I freely accept from that persepective.

I was recently at a birthday celebration for an ex SIL. VERY selfless woman. Among her gifts were 2 bouquets, one of lovely flowers, and the other multiple dollar bills. You guessed it: she gave both of them away on the spot! The recipient of the flowers protested unsuccessfully, but the woman she gave the money bouquet to didn't say a word.
I'm all for recycling unwanted items, but do so discreetly, preferably without the knowledge of the giver. I know how I would've felt if I gave or contributed either of these gifts, insulted and unappreciated. I'm sure she didn't think about that though.

I've been thinking A LOT about this lately in terms of my own life so this video came right on time! My word/phrase for 2024 is "receive" or "I am open to receive." I will be receptive to and show gratitude for the princess treatment I receive this year and all the years moving forward-- claiming it right now 💜

I love this topic! I tend to say "no thank you" out of habit so at this point it's a matter of unlearning that and allowing myself to receive. I love tip 2 about learning how to share what we like and not just what we don't like. I don't think that's talked about enough. This makes me think of a book I read in my childhood called Jacob Have I Loved. It wasn't until I reread it in my 20s that I got the core message: people can't help you unless they know how to help you. I highly recommend the book as a quick read, since it takes a lesson that we sometimes over complicate as adults and makes it simple for kids.

I can’t tell you how much I needed to hear this today. I’ve been having breakdowns all week and my husband finally went ‘stop and let me help.’ I have a lot to learn.
After being manipulated with everything given to me as a method to control me by a narcissist. I find it very difficult to accept or receive anything because it often comes with another expectation.
This is a great point. I'm sorry you had to deal with that but I'm glad you brought it up. As women, we still have to employ discernment and analysis in all that we do. There is a big difference between refusing to receive anything and accepting everything that is given to us.
Unfortunately, there are absolutely people out there with bad intentions, and we have to be on the lookout for that. Especially when it's done in "love-bombing" fashion of way too much giving, way too soon! Or attempts at isolation where it seems they are trying to make you dependent on them. We must give to people in need who are ready to responsibly receive it. Of course there are times when people are in a crisis or disaster where all stipulations have to be removed. I've made it a point to not give to those who are well off - for example supporting artists who have a huge following yet I have no stipulations when sharing or gifting to anyone. Everyone needs a caring moment from another person.
Love this practicing saying yes. At the beginning of 2024, I started saying yes, please anytime someone asks me if I want help or if they can pick something up, open a door, etc. It totally shifted my energy.

I didn't like the way they treated me. Like they owned and controlled me because I accepted something from them.
I commend all women who can do it. I'm not sure how it goes with others but my experience... When I allowed him to take care of me... Most became possessive, controlling, and I basically was just some eye candy. Didn't want me to have a mind or a say... Just yes...
I remembered a man offering to pay my rent and told me I could pick wherever I wanted. I had a panic attack... Because everything was great they the way it was. Probably miss my chance but later found out he was married

A video about where exactly to find men who are willing to offer you desirable things, especially *outside* the US, would be very useful. The vast majority of us have zero problems receiving, but there's little to nothing to receive from the vast majority of men in this era. And before anyone says "try dating much older", in my country, even 80+ years old men think "they are the prize, and not even Monica Bellucci should ask for more than a 1$ rose on her Birthday".
This is a great question! Cultures and customs are very different around the world. I know men from cultures where they will ask a woman "why do you insult me this way?" if she tries to pay. Because they view that as their job as a man and they take pride in it.
I'm not sure where you're from but if it's a cultural, country-wide sentiment that the men don't typically provide, your best bet would probably be an area that is more multicultural (usually the city in most countries.) That way you'll be exposed to men from other countries who have come with their more traditional mindsets. You won't be "getting" them to provide or do nice gestures it will be something they do naturally. Hope that helps!

I'm genuinely struggling far less with learning one of the world's most difficult languages than I'm struggling with meeting men who don't expect tradition only and *only* when it benefits them. Another frustrating thing is that many would gawk at me in public spaces, but rarely make a move, and the ones that do are always the "Let's see how *you* are going to impress me" type. Needless to say, I'm not interested in that.

So I feel this video has taken a lot of guilt and pressure off my chest. Somehow I tend to receive alot naturally and while I am happy with that I often feel guilty or indebted. Now I understand two things. I am a very generous giver therefore people are comfortable giving me. Two I deserve to receive no need to feel guilty. I had a hard time receiving because the givers used it as a tool manipulate me. I slowly got better about who I allowed in my circle to mitigate the probability of these types of manipulators turning up in my life, but sometimes I still have that voice in my head that says, " okay, thank you,now what's the catch?"

This better work for all women not just the attractive ones or avarage looking ones.
I don't have a problem receiving, but I do have a problem with other Ladies and Men blocking what is given. I have always been told by other women what I don't deserve, they would block me, and later I see them going after what is given or after Men I want. And Men would tell other Men to pursue someone else...and this is usually Men that know I would NEVER date them. I don't interfere with everybody else's life, so why is this happening? I

This so annoying! But the bright side of this is that it usually stems from jealousy (which means you're doing something right and something about you is desirable but threatening.) I know it's annoying to hear sometimes, but what's for you, is for you. No one can truly take or block it. They may try to delay it and it will find you tenfold.
When it comes to these women, deal with them by shining even brighter. They see your light and they're trying to block others from seeing it. I say, blind them😅 Making one or two allies wouldn't hurt either. In the case of men trying to dissuade other men, I've noticed this makes some men pursue harder, because competition is ignited (they usually know the other guy wants you for himself and is mad he couldn't get you) or out of defiance of that man trying to tell them what to do. So seriously, keep doing you, keep shining and try not to stress about it too much💕

Maybe I’m commenting too early, but when I’ve allowed myself to receive certain things, I’ve been expected to give my body in return. And when I don’t give it, the gifts and attention or non materialistic things stop. I understand that means none of it was genuine but because of it, I literally deny anything a man gives me.
