Justin has amazing taste in bikes, especially, in his bike builds and restorations. That is one freaking gorgeous bike, fast as all hell, and the exhaust note is orgasmic. One truly badass and beautiful mofo!
This is the ultimate bike. Red '79-'80 twin shock Honda CBX, w/ the 6-into-1 DG header/exhaust. It doesn't get any better. Looks awesome, sounds triumphant, pulls hard. Thank you Kaplan for making it sing! Bravo!
I had a red CBX here in UK from 2000 - 2003. It was excellent; but yours is a sight & sound to behold. Well done! Honda CBX is probably STILL the best looking design of motorcycle in the world. Regards, Hector, Scotland, UK.
There's a museum above the dealership in my town. Every time I go in there with friends I tell them this is the bike I would take if I could have anyone in the building. They always look at me like I'm nuts but if you know you know
at 18 yrs old this was the first street bike i ever rode. wheelied the thing for 200yrs doin atleast 80mph goin up a long uphill climb. Such an awesome bike
My '79 was silver, same pipe, and I also put an ATK fork brace, Tracy color matched sport fairing, and S&W Street Strokers rear shocks. Gawd, I miss that thing. 😥
An absolutely beautiful machine. Thank you. I like that it is mostly original. It must have been nearly impossible to obtain OEM side covers and turn signals. I bought a new silver 79 CBX back in the day. I was able to adjust my valves without tilting the engine down. I still have the special tool used to depress the valve shim bucket to allow for swapping shims.
Thanking my lucky Stars that I bought an older Honda that uses adjustable tappets. But my last motorcycle was a Ducati so there are no lucky stars for them when it comes time to adjust valves.
Probably my most favorite bike . Hooker header was the pipe for that bike , 6 cyl. wheelie machine . Getting rare . Nice bike . F 1 sound was intoxicating .
Back when the CBX came out my next door neighbor bought one new. I believe it was the very same model and looked exactly like the one in this video. He was the head mechanic at the local Honda motorcycle dealer, and maintained the bike meticulously. Just hearing that bike left no doubt that it was a monster. I remember one time that he made a pass at the nearby drag strip and it was a very impressive ET. At the same time, I expect that a man could ride that bike a million miles. Beautiful bike! Brings back memories...
Could you or someone provide the group here with the accurate specs of the originals? I think it was 100 HP. Tops at the time. Was that at the rear wheel? Weight and stuff or provide your favorite link. That bike is very Historic.@@angrytater2456
Holyyyyy mackerel!!! That sound........absolutely incredible!! Would be addictive af riding that beauty. Had a toy one of these as a kid.......would love a rip on a real one!! Thanks for showing us these amazing bikes. God bless all the way from Australia!!
Same here man, his was an 82’ pearl white with blue trim fairing, luggage the works. just gorgeous but I didn’t have $3500 back then, wish I would have.
I love the sound cbx1000 Jonathan's bike is absolutely insanity. Second gear 92 mph that thing is nuts. What a rocket ship. What a machine the man that owned it before. Holy hell one of the sickest bikes I think I've ever seen. Thank you guys so much for this video. Good one! Great video Ronnie! Love this bike!
I can't stop watching this video! That bike runs like a pissed off striped ass ape! Justin and Y'all hit it out of the park with this bike! Just fucking phenominal! The Epitome of a badass vintage musclebike, which I'm quite sure can give many bikes, these days, a run for their money. That is "The Exhaust Note" that so many people like, and strive to have! ❤❤❤
There’s one of my bucket list bikes, damn I love the CBX. My buddy had an 82’ white w blue trim, hard bags and all, I wish I’d have bought that bike when I could. $3500 was big money in 84’ 😆
This bike looks and sounds amazing such a class motorcycle I watch alot of your video over here in the uk 🇬🇧 you lots are crazy and I love it , just bought a bike which you featured not long back a honda cb1000 project big one which also is an awesome motorcycle and fast. Keep these videos coming guys really appreciate them all your good work .👍
I’ve watched many of your videos maybe all of your videos but I think you enjoyed the CBX more then every bike even more than your beloved XLCR , great video 👍🏼.
Candy Glory Red. The original paint was 11 coats of lacquer, staring with a silver base coat. Middle was an orange metallic color, final coats more darker candy red, last color coat was a candy red tinted clear. Final coat was a clear. I have a full set of NOS red lacquer bodywork and seat saved for my early 79 CBX.
Yehah, your neighbours must love you.Cant beat that sound of a six into one pipe,my mate had a z1300 with the same set up,and he rode like you in Wellington New Zealand.
Good morning Great video Keep up the great work ur doing Love all the lowriders The thing that stands out about the lowriders that I love is the colors that they use it's just amazing on so many levels God bless all of the owners and the builders and the people involved in making these things so super nice.. I will have one for my self 😎
I absolutely love motorcycles from the 70s and 80s my last bike was a Kawasaki 750 Zephyr..my biking days are over as i now have Parkinson's..love your videos Ken
I've owned three of 'em. I remember when I was a kid, though, and this older young guy up the highway had one. We could hear him coming down the hill to our river valley in the summertime with our doors open. I'd run out on the deck to hear him and (hopefully) catch a glimpse of him. I knew he was going over 100mph when he came down the hill. Then he'd hit the bridge and start the small climb up the other side. He still had THREE GEARS to go! And he hit every one of 'em. They say these sound like Ferraris but if Ferraris sounded like this I'd own three of them! NOTHING like the CBX 1047. Thanks, Mr. Honda (and Steve Be****) for inspiring my love of that CBX!
You need one those safety nets like the have aircraft carriers, I thought you might have run out room once or twice. 😄😄😄 While it sounds great I'm partial to the six into six more for styling the sound.
My blood is boiling alright! One time I spent an entire Sunday afternoon watching RUclipss of the CBX, KZ and Sei. Can't go wrong with either of them but my favorite is the CBX by a microscopic hair over the Sei.
When I Took my 79 Honda CBX For A Test Ride & That F 1 Sound Sucked Me in For 13 years of Oweing This Motorcycle & I Took Her Everywhere & Loved Her Soo Much & in 2010 A Jurk Jurk me on my CBX & That's The Last Time I Will Ever Own A Street Bike , I will only Own Enduros So I can jump a Curb & get the hell away from people Who Can't drive a Car 🤜🏼🤯🤛🏼 I Rebuilt my Motor Omost $5,000 To Restore Motor & I Miss Her But My Back Can't Handle her Anymore 🤷🏻♀️ But I Will Always Love My 79 CBX 😍
Just a note, the buyer financed the CBX and paid a hefty premium for that. The OTR price was around $3299 new in 79. They are worth big buck for a mint stock original example. Goodluck with the sale, p.s, drop the idle speed 1100 rpm is tops.
NICE, awesome to see you get on the throttle and make that CBX sing. Buddy had a 79 Euro w dual Supertrapp system, the sound was truly intoxicating like a Ferrari. Thank you for the sounds its rare to hear it like that!! I would let out a scream as well after those flybys. Fukin rocketship! LUV IT Kaplan America!! Beautiful, is this bike for sale and if so what is the price? Candy Wine is the colour
Arguably the best sounding bike engine ever made.
I could tell you were having a blast an didn't want to get off the buke
I agree, The bike in this video and the Kawasaki KZ1300 with the inline 6
No argument about it. It IS the best sounding engine ever. The end.
If you are a fan of enraged mosquitos.
750 h2 my friend. The CBX sounds nice but missing that ping. lol
The beauty of mechanics... without plastic and sensors, electronics... the most beautiful sound of a 6-cylinder engine
Why would anyone want a new bike...or efi for that matter.😂
That CBX 1000 sounds absolutely awesome when it "hits the pipe!"
Justin has amazing taste in bikes, especially, in his bike builds and restorations. That is one freaking gorgeous bike, fast as all hell, and the exhaust note is orgasmic. One truly badass and beautiful mofo!

Always loved the look and sound of these machines 👌
Stunning CBX, mine he's exactly like this one in color minus the 6 into 1 exhaust. Absolutely love it.

Greatest motorcycle ever made by man.
of course. It's a Honda!
That bike was always famous for it's sound. I wonder how many were sold during it's run.
Not many since they are pretty rare.

Long recession with high inflation and unemployment back then

Love the bike but on this side of the pond most went for the cb900 f or 1100 r.😊
Quick question, why didn't you put the 6 x pipes (aftermarket) on the bike?
Great classic probably the only honda I ever liked back in the day to present sounds awesome man.
I have the 1980 CBX , black in color , beautiful bikes .
