Arguably the best sounding bike engine ever made.
I could tell you were having a blast an didn't want to get off the buke
I agree, The bike in this video and the Kawasaki KZ1300 with the inline 6
No argument about it. It IS the best sounding engine ever. The end.
If you are a fan of enraged mosquitos.
750 h2 my friend. The CBX sounds nice but missing that ping. lol
The beauty of mechanics... without plastic and sensors, electronics... the most beautiful sound of a 6-cylinder engine
That CBX 1000 sounds absolutely awesome when it "hits the pipe!"
Justin has amazing taste in bikes, especially, in his bike builds and restorations. That is one freaking gorgeous bike, fast as all hell, and the exhaust note is orgasmic. One truly badass and beautiful mofo!
This is the ultimate bike. Red '79-'80 twin shock Honda CBX, w/ the 6-into-1 DG header/exhaust. It doesn't get any better. Looks awesome, sounds triumphant, pulls hard. Thank you Kaplan for making it sing! Bravo!
I had a red CBX here in UK from 2000 - 2003. It was excellent; but yours is a sight & sound to behold. Well done! Honda CBX is probably STILL the best looking design of motorcycle in the world.
Regards,
Hector, Scotland, UK.
There's a museum above the dealership in my town. Every time I go in there with friends I tell them this is the bike I would take if I could have anyone in the building. They always look at me like I'm nuts but if you know you know
That bike was always famous for it's sound. I wonder how many were sold during it's run.
Not many since they are pretty rare.
Could you or someone provide the group here with the accurate specs of the originals? I think it was 100 HP. Tops at the time.
Was that at the rear wheel? Weight and stuff or provide your favorite link. That bike is very Historic.@@angrytater2456

40,000 bikes were produced.
@@angrytater2456 actually 40,000 were put on the market. Not so rare at the time.
That bike is wild!. Such a wicked sound one of the best sounding bikes I've heard.
at 18 yrs old this was the first street bike i ever rode. wheelied the thing for 200yrs doin atleast 80mph goin up a long uphill climb. Such an awesome bike
Greatest motorcycle ever made by man.
of course. It's a Honda!
My '79 was silver, same pipe, and I also put an ATK fork brace, Tracy color matched sport fairing, and S&W Street Strokers rear shocks.
Gawd, I miss that thing. 😥
Always loved the look and sound of these machines 👌
Checks all the boxes, you have the best job EVER!!!!
Hit the nail on the head!
An absolutely beautiful machine. Thank you. I like that it is mostly original. It must have been nearly impossible to obtain OEM side covers and turn signals. I bought a new silver 79 CBX back in the day. I was able to adjust my valves without tilting the engine down. I still have the special tool used to depress the valve shim bucket to allow for swapping shims.
Thanking my lucky Stars that I bought an older Honda that uses adjustable tappets. But my last motorcycle was a Ducati so there are no lucky stars for them when it comes time to adjust valves.
what a fine sounding machine!!!! amazing!
When it's on the pipe it sounds insane.
That thing is SWEET and sounds killer!!
Stunning CBX, mine he's exactly like this one in color minus the 6 into 1 exhaust. Absolutely love it.
Bonita bonita bonita, una clásica de la de seis cilindros muy bonita y espectacular SONIDO 👏🏻
sonido 6 en uno
No other widely available bike sounds this good! My buddy had one, wish he'd never sold it!
Same here man, his was an 82’ pearl white with blue trim fairing, luggage the works. just gorgeous but I didn’t have $3500 back then, wish I would have.
Yeah, it's pretty easy to say that this is the baddest, sweetest, bike that I've seen on the channel. Wow!

If paradise had a sound, that would be it,just a magnificent engine!! The V6 honda is the sound of the waves on paradise beach.......
Inline 6*

Only a SIX BANGER but tiny ones revving like MAD!@@dalebirbeck5344
Probably my most favorite bike . Hooker header was the pipe for that bike , 6 cyl. wheelie machine . Getting rare . Nice bike . F 1 sound was intoxicating .
Тоже очень красивый мотоцикл всех благ
I have the 1980 CBX , black in color , beautiful bikes .
Music to my ears!
A bike dreams are made of…👍
Woooow...that reminds me of my first street bike GS 1000 punched out with the Kerker with the baffle out screaming and ripping. The good ole days.....

When I Took my 79 Honda CBX For A Test Ride & That F 1 Sound Sucked Me in For 13 years of Oweing This Motorcycle & I Took Her Everywhere & Loved Her Soo Much & in 2010 A Jurk Jurk me on my CBX & That's The Last Time I Will Ever Own A Street Bike , I will only Own Enduros So I can jump a Curb & get the hell away from people Who Can't drive a Car 🤜🏼🤯🤛🏼 I Rebuilt my Motor Omost $5,000 To Restore Motor & I Miss Her But My Back Can't Handle her Anymore 🤷🏻♀️ But I Will Always Love My 79 CBX 😍

Beautiful!!
Holyyyyy mackerel!!! That sound........absolutely incredible!!
Would be addictive af riding that beauty. Had a toy one of these as a kid.......would love a rip on a real one!! Thanks for showing us these amazing bikes.
God bless all the way from Australia!!
I love the sound cbx1000 Jonathan's bike is absolutely insanity. Second gear 92 mph that thing is nuts. What a rocket ship. What a machine the man that owned it before. Holy hell one of the sickest bikes I think I've ever seen. Thank you guys so much for this video. Good one! Great video Ronnie! Love this bike!
I've owned three of 'em.
I remember when I was a kid, though, and this older young guy up the highway had one. We could hear him coming down the hill to our river valley in the summertime with our doors open. I'd run out on the deck to hear him and (hopefully) catch a glimpse of him. I knew he was going over 100mph when he came down the hill. Then he'd hit the bridge and start the small climb up the other side. He still had THREE GEARS to go! And he hit every one of 'em. They say these sound like Ferraris but if Ferraris sounded like this I'd own three of them!
NOTHING like the CBX 1047.
Thanks, Mr. Honda (and Steve Be****) for inspiring my love of that CBX!
Beautiful bike ....nothing like a Honda 👍
Honda's answer to the '73 Z1. Gotcha Buddy!
The GOAT sounding bike. With that gold chain MR T should buy this bike.
Man that sounds good
The Toecutter from Mad Max would be proud of that one🤘😎🤘
Had me dying when he made you think he was getting off and then went by like four more times 😂.
Awesome i've watched it more then once incredible acceleration like you said sounds like heaven.
That sound! Just lovely!
I can't stop watching this video! That bike runs like a pissed off striped ass ape! Justin and Y'all hit it out of the park with this bike! Just fucking phenominal! The Epitome of a badass vintage musclebike, which I'm quite sure can give many bikes, these days, a run for their money. That is "The Exhaust Note" that so many people like, and strive to have! ❤❤❤
Beautiful motorcycle
That is a soul stirring sound!!!!!!
That is the definition of badass Ken!!🇺🇸⭐️
Maaaaannn what a badass bike! And that sound!
This was my dream bike back in 79, I used to drool over the one in my local bike shop. Unfortunately I could never afford it so I had to settle for its little brother a 550 FourK3.
Fuckyeah!!Exactly!! The first Street bike I bought amazing scoot. Love it F.N love it!!!
Incredible! love it
NUTHIN' !! . . . . and I mean NO modern day SuperSport bike, sounds 👂🏽 better than THAT bike, with THAT pipe! I want one JUST for the symphonic sound🥰 she sends. -💥💯💪🏽😠
I so wanted one when they came out, she got some balls!!!
That engine bulging out on both sides looks bad ass!
Justin Is A Super Freak That Brother Brings A'Lot To The Table Wat A Great Guy ML&R 💪🏻💪🏻💚🤟🏻🤟🏻🇺🇲✌🏼
That thing sounds so good
Chur to the BIG DOG ..yeah BOI ..
There's not many engines that sound that good whether V-8, V-10, V-16! That REALLY sounds good!
Even in 2023 it gives you goose pimples !!! Yeah!!!!

Damm, kenny sr need hire that guy, what a sales guy 😂
I did!
My favorite machine from HONDA outstanding .
That bike sounds amazing!!!
Nací en el 79 , desde que tenía 5 años soñaba y fantaseaba con esa moto , vivía sobre la ruta y todas las noches se armaban picadas entre 3 motos honda ; una gris , otra roja y otra azul .........
Fantastic bike, sounds are incredible
There’s one of my bucket list bikes, damn I love the CBX. My buddy had an 82’ white w blue trim, hard bags and all, I wish I’d have bought that bike when I could. $3500 was big money in 84’ 😆
To this day, there hasn't been a 4 stroke street bike that's sounded better than a CBX with a 6into1 exhaust.... preferably an Over Racing or Pro Drag full titanium 6into1.... usually like old DG's, but while they offer a very distinct tone with their CBX 6into1, nothing compares to the other two I mentioned....but either of those exhausts cost more than the CBX did new, but is it worth it for the sound and to keep her all Japanese? Yes 😅
Edit: BTW, the beautiful candy red was called Candy Glory Red..... which is the best color available for these, sadly Candy Jade wasn't available, because that would've given Candy Glory Red a run for it's money 😑
Another edit: you really want to hear this sing? One of my above mentioned exhausts, and a 6 Pack of Keihin FCR's 📯📯📯📯📯📯
Ok last edit: dude, if you don't need to, do not sell your CBX.... you'll definitely regret it like I regret selling my CBR-XX, and to clarify something above since later in the video you said this was $4500+ new, ok, the exhausts I mentioned are slightly cheaper than that, $2500-3k depending on which, not including tax or shipping 😅
Candy Glory Red. The original paint was 11 coats of lacquer, staring with a silver base coat. Middle was an orange metallic color, final coats more darker candy red, last color coat was a candy red tinted clear. Final coat was a clear. I have a full set of NOS red lacquer bodywork and seat saved for my early 79 CBX.
I want one now
" You can't have it"
"Nah nah nah a ha ha"
Me neither, DAM!
Sounds good, those 6 cylinder bikes all sound amazing, i dont think they made them for very many years
You can't replicate that sound to this day that's why it's so precious
RRRRRRRRRIP THE HOUSE OFF THE FOUNDATIONS 💪💯 New England motorcycle museum number 1
"What a fuckin rocket ship holy shit" best quote I've ever listened to. Love the second amendment sporting badass Ken
Beautiful machine 😊 my old man owned almost every bike known to man in the 70's and he swore by his Hondas 👍
My father has owned one for years he had a bad accident in the 90s and it has been sitting ever since.
Amazing motorcycle!!! Thanks for sharing this!!
You need one those safety nets like the have aircraft carriers, I thought you might have run out room once or twice. 😄😄😄 While it sounds great I'm partial to the six into six more for styling the sound.
Wow did that cbx sound great very surprised that this bike didn't sell better back in 79 but it is a beautiful masterpiece of Honda history
Long recession with high inflation and unemployment back then
You never tire of a bike sounding like that.
Nice, tail running light is out, break light is good. Dad has his still from 1979, motor punch out to 1149cc. Wicked sounding for sure.
Yehah, your neighbours must love you.Cant beat that sound of a six into one pipe,my mate had a z1300 with the same set up,and he rode like you in Wellington New Zealand.
I'm pretty much a Harley guy, but I could live with that bad boy 😃🤙 I have such fond memories of the CB750 I once owned 😎👍
Pot holes filled 👍 Beautiful motorcycle sounds wicked 🎶🎵🔥🤘
Sounds like the good old formula one racecars........what a sound...goosebumps
It makes a nice noise, the original exhausts are clean!
I’ve watched many of your videos maybe all of your videos but I think you enjoyed the CBX more then every bike even more than your beloved XLCR , great video 👍🏼.
You might be right brother it was hard to stop that test ride
I absolutely love motorcycles from the 70s and 80s my last bike was a Kawasaki 750 Zephyr..my biking days are over as i now have Parkinson's..love your videos Ken
Ffs she sounds incredible!
hell yeah
"You'll never see one of these parked outside of a psychologist office"
So true.😂
Woow! .... I had a black one, 79, back in 82-83, what a beauty!
Elon Musk couldn''t create that, My God!
Lmao. Yeah, he better stick to cars and rockets. Lol.....Hope you're well, brother.
Legendary motorbike, would love to have one.
What a sound, music to my ears.
Just a note, the buyer financed the CBX and paid a hefty premium for that. The OTR price was around $3299 new in 79. They are worth big buck for a mint stock original example. Goodluck with the sale, p.s, drop the idle speed 1100 rpm is tops.
