Sewage spill forces closures at several Los Angeles beaches

  • A roughly two-mile stretch of coastline in the Marina del Rey and Play del Rey areas remained closed today due to a sewage spill. NBC Los Angeles' Ted Chen reports.

    I find it interesting that these spills never happen in Malibu or Palos Verdes. There's always tar in Marina Del Rey, and Dockwilder area.

      Why is it interesting? Malibu and Palos Verdes are mountainous and relatively low population density. Water flows from the city and low points. Sewage comes from the city.
