This beautiful song reminds me of a mother's love for her children also. Whether we are saying goodbye as one heads off to war or the other heads off to care for their hospice patients the feelings are the same. Thank you for sharing your talent Alan Doyle.

it's 2022 I'm in Iso in Melbourne and I just spent the best TV week of my life having laughed uproariously through 6 seasons of joy and such a wonderful ensemble cast and lovingly scored. and I only found Republic of Doyle by accident last weekend.
Beautiful Alan Doyle. A scottish woman was being interviewed early this morning on CBC, she does a lot of skating on the Red River. This is the song that she requested to be play at the end of her interview. That introduced the song to me, I'm hooked. Thanks!

Just watched the final episode of RoD on Prime tonight--had to listen to the song again. It made the ending...haven't teared up so much since Spock died in "Wrath of Khan" . Thanks
Loved this song ever since I first heard it on the tv show, Republic of Doyle, which I found through Netflix. I knew I had to have it played at my wedding, if that day should ever come. Well, I was finally lucky enough for that day to come a few months ago, and yep, I requested this song to be played. It added to what was a great day!
Perfect song to end the best show that ever came out of Newfoundland! Couldn't imagine a better way to end it than the way it did, and the song made it that much better!

I would have liked to have seen more about how Jake and Leslie's relationship developed. Also The relationship between Tinny and Des. Shame they skipped two years. Never mind, I Loved watching R.O.D. Brilliant show with a great cast. One of my favourites was Jake...and Des..Also Rose...na, I can't pick a favourite!

Hey Alan, I'm enjoying reading your book! When I first heard the new tune, the "Hey (hey)" part was reminiscent of "Sea of no cares" and I had to (post a comment) tell you about my mother in law and her miss hearing the words on "Sea of no cares" (because I thought you might find it humorous. When she first heard the song, "Sea of no cares" she couldn't understand why anyone would throw their beer in the sea...(of no cares). Hey (hey) hey somewhere...
