Damn but it’s been a long ride since I first saw Rory leading in London’s Marquee back in the late 60’s. He sure got this then 17 year old Irish kid’s blood flowing. What a buzz.

Been a long time fan since I picked up Tattoo in 1975(?) as a brand new release. Saw the master twice in my lifetime, first at the University of Vermont in Burlington, playing in the gymnasium of all places and later in ‘78 at a proper venue, the Montreal Forum, where I still live, (68). It was a tri-concert featuring Argent, Nazareth and for the Topper, Original Gallagher lineup. Started at 8 pm and ran until 2 am…all for the glorious price of $5.50… Canadian even. Had all his work on vinyl, cassette tapes, later VCR tapes, finally, still collecting on DVD/Blueray AND now streaming everything I can find. June 14 1995 is a day I won’t forget 😢

Ye gods and little fish, Rory was just...electrifying! I still regret never having had the chance to see him live. He played Cork once back when I was living there, but my band had a steady paying gig that night, and I just couldn't pull a no-show.
Had I known then what I know now, I'd have come down with severe laryngitis the day before.😉
Was quite young when Rory at his prime so didn't know of him but boy how I missed out... unfortunately he's gone but he's my all time favourite guitarist..
