- A new glitch was discovered in Elden Ring, where the hitboxes of the weapons COMPLETELY BREAK when performing certain inputs. It works for both PvE and PvP. Ranni, Sellen and Roderika tell you all about it!

threw a frost pot at malenia, it missed and she went to butcher me with the foul, and out of nowhere the frost pot decided to save me and somehow Hit her?? I’m not complaint tho- beat her that attempt!

Edit: not shure if it was bad hitboxes or latency but I had an attack hit from the top of the first step after they rolled down

@@OnlyWaifuYT its right after you leave the capital city double doors on the way to the elevator to go to mountaintop. Theres a perfume bottle right next to it by a red haired misbegotten. The dog sitting next to him wont aggro unless he gets hit.

@@OnlyWaifuYT Technically, it's not actually friendly. It just for some reason has 2 behavior activation zones and passing through the intended one doesn't trigger it's behavior. The second zone is near the collosseum in Leyndell, and if you go there and then go back to the dog, it will attack you like normal.

Wow, I feel old. This is one of the oldest bugs in gaming. Spinning or turning suddenly to extend your hitbox is something that's been around since...forever.
It's not even a bug.From knows about it and specifically removed it from gugs but left it on shunter and hts jump attacks

So instead of rotating the interpolated hitboxes around the hilt, it's instead rotated around the sharp end of the stick? Sounds like an easy fix... The blue hitboxes seem to follow the correct way and pivot around the hilt.

This glitch reminds me of the Pursuer whenever he tries to attack that has a weird delay, and when you try to dodge his attack, you end up impaled in his sword.

So is this a new form of "dead angle" attacks? Since both can hit targets at very obscure angles aside from bypassing shields, this glitch looks like an evolution of it to me.
Think DS1 dead angling included glitched hitboxes too, folks just didn't notice it under the hot steaming pile that was DS1 PvP.

Honestly didn't know you could move like that and it looks so odd but it's crazy how one move can create a broken hitbox on multiple weapons I mean I'd be pretty upset if I got hit like that tho I guess it wouldn't matter because of the servers doing the same thing anyways. It's nice to see Ranni, Roderika and Sellen in this vid but love that Roderika called us a Jar Canon but unfortunately I can't guess what that weapon is, I'm not a true ER player it seems.

I more times encountered a glitch, when it registered damage in co-op after several seconds than invader using double-poking or this glitch. But with proper set up it looks nasty.
But I wonder, if that works on Carian Pierce. Don't plan to use it as I am more interested in KABOOM with Haima spells, but out of pure curiosity,

It looks *DISGUSTING* but definitely worth trying out at least once. (In PvE)
First
When you queue the attack and turn during the active frames you are dragging the weapon around at a very high speed. This can be prevented by delaying the active frames of the attack or remove/restrict pivoting during attacks.
For the weapons with effectively extended hitboxes the game is getting thrown off for the starting point of the attack. Either change I mentioned should fix those as well.
The only real use for it in pve is to make effected attack sweeps which is somewhat niche in the first place. For pvp the extended hitboxes would be useful there.
I'm surprised this type of thing went "unnoticed" for so long since pvp players have been abusing similar things for the longest. The game was designed around lock-on and unlock techs are commonly abused in the pvp community.
You or maybe someone else also showcased this months ago so I'm a bit confused about the clickbait.
Ds2 there is a similar thing, tho this glitch there seems to a feature with the hitboxes following the weapon and not just appearing out of nowere.
You play without lock on (or use a heavy weapon cause they have maual aim) to create a "sweeping thrust": you aim a thrust away from what you want to hit and while turning towards your target your weapon's hitbox will hit everything in it's path
Idk if all game is like that, but in ds2 it's easy to do that due to the forced manual aim for UGSs, GHs and GAs even when locked on
The same ''glitch'' is in Dark Souls 3, particularly with charged R2 of the Greatlance or the Hollowslayer Greatsword.
It is glitches like this that make pvp a joke. I love the game and pvp. But when someone whips out tricks like this just ruin it for everyone else. They'll call the obvious glitch "tech". And then people use if more from losing to it and before we lnow it makes pvp toxic.
Very much like off hand rapier for the sweaty boys being its poise dmg is glitched stupidly high.
I'm terrible at the game, so perfoming a glitch like this would be a miracle for me. That being said, I'd probably feel very scummy doing this glitch anyways and i don'y like that feeling. So, i might not do it. It's very interesting to see though.

I get that larger hit boxes make the hame feel more intuitive among many other things. But i keep thinking how much more balanced games would be if the hit box was the actual shape and size of the weapon.
Too many times have i been wrecked by Morgott due to his stupid spear charge and his hammer twist because the damn hit box stuns me before even doing damage. Dead frames or whatever its called. (Morgott is only one of many examples)
