They have an issue that they are unwilling to deal with and the burden of guilt becomes such that instead of dealing with it themselves they force everyone else to deal with it. This is so common. I’ve seen 100 discussions in similar QandA sessions where they end up completely agreeing but cannot change their views despite recognizing their contradictory mindset
@@mcthunderstick2374 It's because the meaning of being liberal has changed. I always identified as liberal because like the lady, I didn't care what _you_ do or how you chose to dress. But the level of decency in public has changed drastically from people writing their private thoughts in a diary that kept locked and hidden away and keeping their sexuality behind closed doors. I would have never claimed to be a conservative while g bush was in charge and bow tie tucker was defending w m d's and denying building seven.

But that's a real concern in todays culture. My fiancees family is liberal as is 80% of the area we live in(northern VA), over dinner we will all sometimes talk about politics and things going on and her parents will agree with a lot of the things I say........ Privately. Her father works in Govt and her mother is a high school teacher, she has personally told me she is nervous to talk about certain things in class, she has told me there have been times where her 10th grade class will discuss current events and whenever she is asked about something even slightly controversial she'll just give a non-interventionist response(not to rock the boat and cause waves is how she puts it). She'll not respond how she actually feels out of fear basically, and she's a woman who speaks her mind in everything not politically related btw.
They both agree Trans should have rights and treated fairly but they also see how much of the trans agenda is wrong, problematic and they disagree with it.... They don't openly show support but they also don't publicly oppose it either, which in my view is the same as publicly supporting it.
I used to be Libertarian before moving to Conservatism, I used to have a non-interventionist approach when it came to the middle east....why the heII are we there.... why don't we just get the heII out and worry about America....we have no business there. All that sort of stuff, til I realized that was the wrong approach to have, yeah we can not intervene and maybe that's the right thing to do at the time but what happens by us not intervening, radical Islamic terrorism and groups just keep growing, keep recruiting, and growing and growing til one day there's a knock on your front door with someone shouting allahu akbar.
I have used this analogy with them a couple times and they fully understand the point I'm making and agree that them having a non-interventionist approach when it comes to the trans movement agenda could reach a point where it grows too strong to simply oppose it peacefully and rationally and that the addressing it could come to our front door but the fear of backlash from publicly opposing it is so strong. I used to have disgust for her mother to a degree, she's not standing up against something she herself knows is wrong and harmful when she's a school teacher for Gods sake but over time I've actually come to feel bad for her. It's easy for some of us to stand up and speak truth to power but for some doing that means risking every thing you have spent a life time building.
What the left does to the right is wrong, but what the left does to other leftists is disgraceful.

@@lordsdisciple first I'd like to say I believe in the Abrahamic God. Secondly, his specific use of the bible in his attempt to make objective points just doesn't work out and here's why. We both know the bible is full of errors, mistakes and the worst of all, contradictions. How can anyone use such a thing to make an objective point? Especially on morality. Not sure if he did the latter though.

@@Gorborothh No matter if you believe that the bible's word is absolute, or if they're subject to morph with time, or even that there is a god; There will always be objectively correct and objectively wrong number of options, and a good morally positive selection of options. We're ingrained with those objective values. Children have been researched to always dislike an evil figure over a nicer one. The bible is not neccessarily just a religious text, it's a catalog of the values that human beings have that have been documented.

Part of the problem with the gender dysphoria is the parents are NOT having puberty talks with their children and not in a timely manner. The children are going through all the changes both physically and mentally without guidance, support and preparedness and this makes them confused and full of anxiety.
You're so right! Puberty is arguably one of the most difficult times in the life of any young person. Personally, it was difficult for me but it was easy to deal with because I had prior knowledge of what I was up against.
They are used to the schools parenting their children...

Nervousness can play weird tricks of the brain, causing you not not be able to think straight or articulate your thoughts correctly. I found the ‘Abeca’ program to be awesome! My daughter was reading the newspaper out loud by December of her kindergarten year. At her 3rd grade SAT’s she scored post high school in all subjects except history, civics,& geography where she scored 5th grade level, even though she had never had civics, or history yet. She was going to a small religious private school and they had 2nd through 7th grade in the same room. She learned her work and finished quickly and was learning the other levels as they were taught. Plus, by her third birthday she had the vocabulary of an adult.

Regarding clinical gender dysphoria, it occurs between 1 in 30k to 1 in 110k. There's 330 million in America which means in our country we only have 3,000 to 11,000 patients suffering from gender dysphoria. They rest is puberty or playing victim to be accepted.

My theory is that people who have not had popularity or athleticism or an interesting personality or talented etc declare they are trans (and that fact becomes their entire personality) to try and become relevant or interesting. Then the “uniqueness” wears off and they are back to square one. There are people that truly are happier being trans and I know some, and they are quiet about it just living their lives and not screaming to the world. Also follow the $$ to see the reason MDs are doing reassignment surgeries and hormones no questions asked, it’s a huge moneymaker, there was an expose in the UK where they actually shut down the gender clinic

It's somewhat inspiring to see that over time it seems that the audiences in these Q&A's are seeming to be more supportive and on the same page, where as years ago it seemed the left was trying to take over these discussions. So either they have realised how stupid they make themselves look turning up to these events, or the security and screening process has much improved. Either way progress is progress cause it allows for more intellectual discussions.

Maybe a bit of both? It seems the ones that do disagree, at least have enough respect to not interrupt and actually try to discuss their views in the Q&A.
The cultists, I think security has gotten better weeding them out and keeping them outside. That said, every now and then a group of them are successful at infiltrating the event and try to disrupt the speech, or a couple will quietly wait through the speech to “troll” the Q&A part and waste as much time as possible.
But now, the majority of the fight takes place before the speech even begins. Once the cult knows someone like Kirk is coming to talk, they protest, vandalize, threaten and try to get the event shut down before it even starts.
The sad part is they’re successful at that a large portion of the time, with too many college admins having no spine or agreeing with the cult to begin with, so they use the protest as an excuse to shut down the event.

I am a lifelong Kentuckian and am so proud the people in my state did not let me down in this. For the most part all were respectful and had thought provoking questions rather then just yelling a world salad

I made the decision to homeschool my sons back in 09. I couldn't be happier. I let my boys try whatever they wanted. They lasted a year in public and a year in Christian private school. They both came back to their mother and grandmother's class.

Be careful about allowing politics to create a divide between you and family. My brother got so angry at me by just explaining the meaning of Nazi he cut me off on all things social. He was killed in a motorcycle accident before that breach was healed and I still think of all the things I should of tried to heal that breach.

I voted for Obama the first time (🤦♀️) then after getting life experience in my job and getting out of a small all white town (except for the prisons) and working with diverse coworkers and patients and community, I have so much information and factual opinions, Vs my family (who is in their all white small town and are liberals) my sister is aggressively opinionated and won’t listen to facts. They just watch the news and bias social media and have little life experience in the truth of what’s going on. I tell them to try being a cop or nurse etc etc for a few months in my city and I guarantee they will think differently and go towards the right when they see the truth

I cut ties with my family when I was 55 and it was like a ton of weight was lifted off my shoulders. They never reciprocated the sibling relationship and my mom was racists toward my wife and kids. The straw that broke the camels back was getting a phone call from the eldest brother chewing my butt for not attending my mom’s birthday party that I was never invited to. Yeah, bat shit crazy stuff. Sometimes cutting ties is the right thing to do, though obviously the toughest choice to make.

I have a family of 6 siblings, I’m 1 of 6. 3 of us lean conservative, 3 liberal(one of which is extreme), and we’ve never lost our relationships and love for eachother. I’m so grateful for my parents for helping us grow to be the way we are. ❤️
I was raised by a good father, but an abusive mother. Even though she was abusive I took her in after my father passed and when she was older and couldn't fend for herself. Even made sure she had everything she needed and took her to her appointments, movies, lunches, church (yes, she was mean, but went to church), and her favorite activity of shopping until she passed. I'll never regret my behavior and can live with myself as I could have just as easily walked away and never spoke to her again.
My wife believes that a person whom is offended by words is not a reasonable person! Just because some people consider specific words to be 'fighting words', that's merely their biased opinion.

Once a human is subjected to too many inputs from their peers, confuses their minds to the point of insanity which is what we're dealing with today.
Once the mind is set free to think about self preservation (instead of self destruction) then they can have an open mind to (think for themselves) on what's going to allow their own prosperity instead of confusing them to self destruction.

I think it's much simpler. Our education system and society has abdicated method for the theoretical and relativism. It's no wonder that young people are confused as well as some adults who've never learns the method for reasoning....ten universal principles.
It's not the open-minded that's the problem. It's the mind that does not know how to reason. It's the mind that does not understand Aristotelian logic or deductive reasoning as well as objective truth.
Most people today think we are a brighter and smarter society and nothing could be further from the truth. We have become so dumb to down and intellectually bereft it's very sad. We rest on the shoulders of giants. It's about time to get back to classical education and the Christian world view.
Oh and on the last comment? It's not simply about faith, rather it's the reality that virtues are a marker of a few and just society. After all, not only is virtue synonymous with manhood, virtue breeds prosperity, beauty, and authentic love. It's not a shift to self-preservation at all.
It's the restoration of the true form of Liberty, which is the freedom to do good for the common good. It's about humility. It's not that one thinks less of themself, rather they simply think about themselves less often.

Highlands Latin in Louisville is a classical private school. They offer homeschool materials through their Memoria Press. We used their materials extensively. I didn't agree with everything they said, but we talked about those things that we didn't agree with as a family.
I hope through Charlie this lost generation can find hope. So many young adults and children are just looking for something to make them feel alive but their looking in all the wrong places. With that their becoming more lost, angry and confused. I just watched a movie last night which gave me some hope for today's youth. The movie was Jesus Revolution, it was about lost hippies and drugs being saved by finding Jesus!
