i get it. updating the drive train in a 40's car is almost a necessity to enjoy it on long trips involving interstate travel. you are either beating up the engine with excess RPMs or a moving obstacle on the freeway. BTDT. either way, it's never-wracking.
Technically a resto mod is an old car with a recently modern computerized engine and transmission. I guess there is no official designation for a resto mod
