I love all types of cars. I've been obsessed with anything with 4 wheels and an engine since I can remember. This is a beautiful car and an amazing story. Love this series.
Pocketdimes 10 I'm a fan of anyone keeping these cars alive. These were the best of times. When we made beautiful things, people were classy and glamorous, and everything felt new and special. Far from perfect but everything just made sense. I'd hop in a time machine and go back in a heartbeat.
R T agreed! I grew up around muscle cars and old VW's. As I grew older my appreciation for different builds and styles grew. I'll pretty much watch anything car related. My kids say I'm obsessed, but it's ingrained in me. My dad was a car nut too. Cars of this area are so beautifully designed and well made. I love seeing people keep these wonderful pieces of history alive.
Overcoming adversity and giving back to make the world a better place. That's the American dream. That's a true role model.
Wow, wow wow. Thank you Officer Rudy for sharing your story, your kick ass car, and your beautiful family with us. Heading your way from Chicago to visit family in L.A. soon... I hope we'll get the chance to stop in Irwindale and shake your hand. Your dad would be incredibly proud.
A true low rider enthusiast at heart and an exemplary community public service provider; thank you and your wonderful family for protecting and serving that town's citizens, Officer Campos...
It's an honor to know you're story. Thank God for you and your beautiful family. May thr Lord keep you and Bless you always 🙏. Thank you for your service!!!
"I pull my car out, wipe it down and go for a cruise".. Me every day after school kicks my ass
Great video! Thank you for your service Mr. Campos. God bless your mother, I know a lot of prayers kept your familia together.
Nice car Rudy... Thank you for your service.. I grew up in Baldwin Park. Since 80 to 09.
I would love to thank those officers for their service. Why on earth would people stereotype officers as racist?? They're here to serve and protect.
This guy is scum bag harassing the people of Irwindale
Beautiful hobby Rudy. You have stepped up for your family in the wake of your father. He rangatira koe (your a leader). We had a 1947 4 door fleet master. It cost 20 pound (40 dollars) back in 1966. It was our family car for a 15 years. We went everywhere in it, all 13 kids. From New Zealand/Aotearoa. Noho ora mai (be well Rudy).
Thank you for showing your car and your service to that city
Rudy, you are an inspiration. Thank you for being a first responder. I am an old guy and back in the 50s they said hot rodders were gangsters too. I live in Oklahoma and we do not have low riders here, but I greatly admire the incredible craftsmanship.
Be safe and Via con Dios!
Be proud Rudy. Work of art!! It shines BIG too.
My Uncle is also a cop in Jersey who is into lowriders, lol. He's a good dude. Not all cops are bad ;)
My father past this year and he left me the same car hopefully I restore mines soon great video👍
Love police officers thank you for your service!
I loved this story! You're a great guy with a beautiful family. I pray you and your wife stay safe in the line of duty. I found this video looking for other post war chevys after buying a barn fresh 1946 Stylemaster 4dr, that was originally black, but repainted 2 tone army tan colors. You are a great inspiration and I can't wait to cruise in my new Chevy in support of veterans and meet people like you. Stay cool❤✌
Big Rudy i went to school with this cat we use to role to lunch in his Vw much respected 👌
For those that dont know, La Puente means the Bridge in Spanish so the club name is cool Bridge Town Oldies. Nice ride and story.
I lost my parents when i was 7 months old to a car accident. My brothers were 4 and 11. I feel your pain brother. What a fantastic machine!!! What a cool car club. You don't see many 30's and 40's cars here on the East Coast.
Awesome story! Thank you for your service!

My Condolences
Beautiful Chewy, Beautiful story
God Bless! Blessings your way family and friends.
Rudy your '46 Fleetmaster Bomb is a gem, and your story is such an inspiration to younger men and women especially Latinos.
Great story, beautiful car. I was born in East LA but grew up and still live in Baldwin Park maybe I'll see him around and shake this man's hand.
Great inspirational story, Rudy, and I'm glad that you dispelled perceptions out there that Latino car clubs are associated with bangers and crime. I'm also sorry to hear that you lost your father to gang violence. He would be immensely proud of you and your accomplishments. Hat's off to your mother, too, for doing her best to protect you and your sister from the throes of gang life. Your '46 Fleetmaster is absolutely pristine and awesome. Readers should know that the victory "V" hood emblem stood for victory of World War II, and that the '46 Chevy was a carbon copy of the very few '42s produced before all car manufacturing came to a grinding halt for war effort production. Glad that your father chucked the original 216 engine in favor of the 235, which was way more reliable with fully-pressurized lubrication and rod bearing inserts (versus babbitted type). Also, had a better pushrod side cover than that junky one on the 216s that always seemed to leak.
Right On Rudy... I've been Lowriding since the early 70's and I am down to my last lowrider.. my 1939 Dlx. Car Clubbing moved me away from gangs so the notion that Car Club members are Gang members is not accurate. I've seen racism all my life but thigs have gotten better. Alot of me getting harrased by police was my attitude. I was an angry young man so I ended up on the floor more times than I can remember. As I grew up, went to college, married, had children... My attitude changed completely. I am no longer angry. I no longer let someones attitude towards me get the best of me. I live a Happy life... and I still Lowride... and by the way.. I lived in Baldwin Park for a few years.. Cheers
Very nice,dad would be proud..
Thank you for your service's
That's one of those beautiful videos I've ever seen you're wonderful man and your car is absolutely Exquisite and I appreciate everything you said

Officer Campos Jnr respect and thank you for the inspiration
Truly a great series. Every one inspirational
Im vatoloco but i respect where your coming from back in the 80s i was roll8ng in a 46 4door just like yours now i have a 48 4door
Beautiful! Great story and good people!
My brother has a 47 really good condition just sitting in his backyard. Now I see the potential
Man that car shines! Great story and great guy.. stereotypes suck, just because you're into cars doesn't mean you're into crime etc..
Hey guys I love what you'll do you're the best at it. You keep history alive be yours. Self enjoy your life thank you
Very impressive Rudy. Best of luck.
Starts video talking about how low riders being thought of as gang members is just a bad stereotype, then 2 minutes in mentions that his dad was killed by gang violence. The logic is sound
perolito83 He didn't say the gangsters who killed his dad were in the lowrider culture.
Guy and his wife are cops. Watch till the end.
Question is why isn't he anymore?
Kingpin Ronin Cops aren't the ultimate gang? Gang bangers for life....
What a beauty, Rudy! Thank you for uploading this video. Your story is truly amazing and you must be a very happy man with a great family and a magnificent hobby! Sincere greetings to you from Australia! 👏👏👏
Nice ride
Nice Story. Thank you.
My maternal grandfather was a police officer. He left the force after 20 years the year I was born. Needless to say I couldn't do it. The patrol, the stake outs, all that would drive me nuts. But here's one thing, low rider, ricer, gear head never judge a book by its cover applies.
to each their own but Cadillac hubcaps on a Chevy- lol. That is like taking emblems off of an Infinity and placing them on a Honda. Nice car though
What a beautiful stotry....respect!
29-12-2018 It's still my dream car ..😍
Rudy, can you help me identify a car I had in the early 60's. Never knew if it was a 48 or earlier. 216 Vacuum shift, 2 door, the trunk hinges were on the outside. Never had the registration, drove it on the back roads at nite. When I went in the service, my dad gave it away.
Love the story well told. My only problem was that he said people think cops are racist and stereotype and he said that they weren't.........then when his cop buds found out he had a lowrider they asked him if the administration knew......Huh? Isnt that a stereotype? Why would it be their business? Either way love this video. Thank you for all you do for your community.
Rudy, what a touching story........Larr....
Thumbs up, wonderful story, SUPPORT THE BLUE.

Stop that.
Magnifique !
THE BEST CARS
Back the blue, save the classic's🇺🇸
Its like a dream came true
breathtaking
man, i don't really like lowriders most of the time. but if they look like that, i love it. but not the ones with the crazy paint, way too much chrome and shit like that...
Just Some Random Person oh man but thats the point, but simple black is far superior then the crazy paint
The crazy paint and chrome with engravings murals wild interiors was the evolution of pushing the boundaries of making your car unique from everyone else's. Tuners and hot rods have the same results with ricers and thrown together death traps but most lowriders that you seen driven are understated and simple with the main investment being the frame reinforcement, hydraulics setup/batteries, wheels and engine...look at almost any other style daily driver and the same care is given to the chasis, suspension, brakes/tires and engine modifications.
not your culture so don't worry about it
Orale La Puente! I grew up there!
Beautiful Ride man
dam, can i join the club!!!??! haha hook up my 64! great story my boy! see you on the blvd.
Respect. Amazing car.
Your a lucky man thanks for telling you story
Random question. Did motor trend purchase lowrider mag or did they colaborate for more viewers?
Props officer fields :)......
much much respect 👍👍
That is pure class
That's my town!!!!
Parabéns!!!
Great video well done
this is great, keep up the good work :)
Good job ruddy
I have the same car, I just need to make some repairs, the rear emblem is like a Bel Air one.
Nice car!
not a fan of lowriders, but this one looks great.
I love it.
Sounds like petrolicious
Clearly a rip of their style, misses the mark though. Great lil edit though, really enjoyed it.
Ay im from Whittier ,right on !!!
Nice 🤙 🇺🇸
I would get jr a Craigslist wonder mobile for college, university. The students leaving class can be careless, if not reckless, and thus risk an accident that would damage the lowrider.
