      @@camakazi48 i think that will be my option too. start with the naked belt kit than add pouches as i go. i have so many old "gun belts" kicking around i could try to make a Frankenstein jungle kit out of., but the Velsys Jungle Belt itself looks much lighter than some old padded molle belt.

    I’m wondering why it's necessary for him to pull the empty magazine out. Perhaps his lower receiver wasn’t made to milspec and the mag well is too tight.

    • @camakazi48
      @camakazi48  11 месяцев назад +1

      It's not necessary. The sop for the unit I was in was to rip the mag in the case that it stuck or you had a malfunction you did not lose time figuring out the mag was stuck and going back to do it. I trained that way for years and now it's habit. No one has to do it that way if they don't want to but I don't lose anytime ripping the mag, it's never stuck and I am used to doing it like that. I'm also using a BCM. Their magwells are tight. Hope this answers your question

    Those 3/4in buckles are a pain, especially with gloves. I wanna modify them with some 1in buckles like that ones that are on the canteen pouches

    So I dig the kit don’t get me wrong but have you considered running a fast reload open top pouch on your off hand side ? Like just something specifically for an emergency reload.

    • @camakazi48
      @camakazi48  2 года назад +2

      Thanks for the input. Yes I have several different kinds. To be honest I'm not a huge fant of open top pouches on rigs I'm gonna be using in the woods with a lot of crawling around. I don't think it's a bad idea but I think the odds of me losing a mag are a lot higher than me needing to do a sub second reload.

      @@camakazi48 definitely depends on what you’re using. I have lost an AK mag out of a g code open top. AR mags in the estac I have yet to have a problem with. I do definitely understand the concern though.

    • @camakazi48

      @@coffeeaddict643 the esstacs are good pouches. I have some on another belt. Definitely valid suggestions, I am just paranoid after losing equipment. Some of my practices are somewhat old school but I try to offset the added reload time with practice and using cover if possible. Definitely a valid suggestion with the esstacs or an itw fast mag. The scorpions remind me of tacos. Due to the tacos I have 6 magazines floating somewhere on the grass in Poland after a hard landing

  • @myerextra
    @myerextra 2 года назад

    Do you have the mags facing away from you or to the side? I tried to use it facing away from me and any position other than standing is just impossible to reindex and the mags collapse in on each other.

    • @camakazi48
      @camakazi48  2 года назад

      I face them out from my body like an old alice pouch not left or right. In other words the primers are to my stomach and the bullets are pointing in front of me

    • @myerextra
      @myerextra 2 года назад

      @@camakazi48 gotcha, I've had problems reindexing like that because unlike the alice pouches the jungle pouches don't have a thing of plastic to keep the structure of it from collapsing in on the front.

    • @camakazi48
      @camakazi48  2 года назад +1

      @@myerextra I don't reindex magazines. Typically I stick them in a dump pouch, cargo pocket or in the top of my shirt. Or I just drop them later. But at the range I haven't really noticed. One thing you could do is slide cardboard in on either side to keep the pouch pushed out

    Why grabin the magazine and throw in it.

    • @camakazi48
      @camakazi48  Год назад +2

      Magazines will drop free most of the time. But it's quite common to have magazines stick in the magazine well, be it a pmag or something or the magazine or mag well is dirty, a round isn't seated right or a double feed has occurred. So being that the magazine will not drop free in these instances, I was trained to rip the magazine from the mag well while conducting a reload. It's the only way to reload that works 100% of the time. Most people you will see do reload drills on instagram will not do it as they are concerned about time. However, it will take longer if your magazine doesn't drop free to begin with and is more challenging to knock the mag out of the mag well when you have a full magazine in your hand already.
