She’s a amazing Actress and what a wonderful personality. Very gracious.
That was my favorite interview with her. No Hollywood bs just her being a person
MacLaine is unbelievable. Saw her live in Reno. She was on stage for all of 1.5 hrs. Danced every number. Unbelievable. One of the great theatre experiences of my life!!!!!!
When she talks you just wanna leave everything and listen to her.
She is so genuine and honest with her answers and one feels that she speaks the truth, that she truly cares. Such an inspirational and beautiful woman, inside out! Thank you so much for uploading!
Thank you so much for uploading...
If it’s possible, after watching this, know I love Meryl a bit more. How gratuitous is she! How smart and wonderful, just love her.
This is one of my favorite movies of both her and Shirley MacLaine. I watched with my mother whom I'd had a very rocky relationship with.
Loved this movie, adore Meryl Streep.. beyond talented.
Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds ( what a dynamic pair).
The great Shirley MacLaine. Awesome movie.
One of a kind talent 🤍
Wow! The critics really slammed her for The River Wild??? I think that may have been the very first film with Meryl Streep that I saw! 2nd was She-Devil! Can't believe Meryl turned her head away when the interviewer mentioned that film because I thought she was great in it and so funny! I do wish she would do more comedy films. I loved Death Becomes Her and also The Devil Wears Prada which to me she was brilliant in!
I loved the river wild.
Ikr! She’s brilliant in comedies!
She devil was fantastic and she was hilarious in it.
The critics didn’t like the river wild ?!?!?! I Loved it
Kramer vs. Kramer, Silkwood, Falling in Love..I just love everything she does.
i don't know when she's stopped acting that's how much she's in character ALL THE TIME
Just beautiful in every way, voice, expressions, funny comments, I love her inside and out, a rare beauty, great talent!
And what a singer, so beautiful!
I agree!
One of a kind... LOVE LOVE LOVE her....
Last 3 minutes are just fab...😍 Summarizes this legend
I wasn’t prepared to be brought to tears by this interview. I was fortunate enough to be in the front row of “27 Wagons Full of Cotton” at the Phoenix Theater in New York City, where I saw Meryl Streep for the first time. I was completely fascinated because I couldn’t imagine where they had dug up this overgrown , sniveling, sloppy, whiney 12 year old to play the part of Baby. The program identified the actress as Meryl Streep. Okay ….
Then the civil war drama, same theater, same repertory company, where we were introduced to a tall, slender, elegant Southern Belle. Another glance at the program.
Meryl Streep again. And I had the memorable and precious experience of being there in person.
It's challenging to decide whether she mesmerizes more due to her aura or her words.
She is so lovely and interesting, intelligent and self revealing and sweet and of course talented.
I am So Gobb Smacked, by what a Grreat Artist Meryl Streep is...The Real Deal Folks!! SHAKESPEARE Would Completely Adore Her...Those Beautiful Sultry eyes :] WE LOVE YA MERYL!! ;]
If the interviewer had loosened up a bit it would have been a better interview, the interviewer was also a bit insulting at times. Despite that it was interesting, thanks for sharing!
Like you are so much smarter. Do you really think this would be improved with your advice or that anyone would ever need your opinion.
Es marvillosa
The woman was so very rude. (I’m glad Meryl is content and strong within herself.)
Yes she was and everyone laughed so they are pretty rude themselves
So not fair that we couldn't hear questions as asked...
She really is talented intelligent beautiful pragmatic funniest of the lot
22:10 "I know it's not a great film, but..."
I thought Meryl was fantastic in She-Devil.
I cringed so hard when the interviewer said that, how insulting
Meryl's reaction after that. She was definitely insulted. I hate that interviewer! How dare her.
Im sure James Lipton would completely disagree with that remark. He'd say it was brilliant. I loved that movie.Seen it several times. Great casting. Meryl was hilarious. One of her few comedic parts.
@@phelpsproductions1125 Oh thats sad
...simply in her own class
U have only used your souls for a long time for all the wrong reasons . This time use it to be happy fearless and good❤❤🎉🎉
35:00 I just liked it
Meryl is a great actress and solid performer. But after seeing this interview, somewhere I feel that she should be careful about dementia that may setting on her as she ages further. Somehow I see that in her. Let God protect her and give her healthy long life.
57:00 the terror is your best friend
Mike Leigh whom I also have interviewed does the same thing. There is real improvisation and the piece develops its shape as the improv takes place. With Nichols and with all Hollywood films it`s a fait accompli as there is just too much money involved to have made a mistake in the choice of an actor and/or his/her reading. It`s all done in advance. Big Money knows what it`s getting and what it is paying for.

Meryl followed around screen writer Carrie Fisher for Suzanne and basically mimicked or mirrowed her, simple.

The interviewer constructs very long questions that Meryl can't possibly answer all aspects of each paragraphh, so a lot remains unanswered because no one could possibly address that unrelated subject matter. Meryl did well by staying in the subject of the movie that she was there to discuss. This is one of the worst interviews I have seen. I am a Meryl fan and I feel badly for her to have such a poor interviewer.
it seems that she tried some coke for playing the caracter of carrie and she smoked some grass for this interview! she is so dispersed! anyway this is an amazing recollection of her talking about her wonderful tecnique for acting...there is no so much material about that
heheheehee
What is that sound in the back ground? It's so irritating. Hello Interwiew with Meryl Streep, do your job.
B
She was too old to play that part.
her nose is so hidious lol
I hope you're not talking about Meryl. She's gorgeous.
Screw you
I lover her nose 🥺 I’m so jealous of her side profile
funny, I always wish I'd had her nose, so long and elegant looking!
I love her nose too, and I don’t think you should says such things in a forum like this. Keep it to yourself.
