Recently bought a MS3, learned some good shit, subscribed. I like that you not only provide good information on good steps to take when "Getting Started" with modifications and explaining what the mods do but also recommend good brands. Great video, keep it up.
I just bought a stock 2012 ms3 and have been wanting to make sure I know how to properly mod it before I start. This video was so helpful man, thank you so much!!! Appreciate you 👊🏻
The MazdaSpeed3 has quickly become my favorite car, as I own a 13' Mazda3, I've been planning on getting one this summer and I can't wait. There aren't many speed3 videos on RUclips and I was excited when I found your channel, this video was super informative and I can't wait for all the great videos that are to come ! I live in Orlando, maybe once I get my speed3 I'll find you in a meet or something 😁
Haha i am so involved in the video, then i suddenly think: "dude i dont even have a MS3" But if i ever have one ill know what to deal with, thanks my man!
Great video. I would say getting an Access Port before you do the hpfp internals though, it is just going to ease your mind to know what your fuel pressure is before and after. Also will get you in a position to start getting used to the counters you need to monitor early on.
Thanks for a great informative video. Came here from your Big Turbo video which was full of good information. In the process of modding my MPS 6, so far have rear motor mount, rear diff mounts, rear axles, cobb accessport, intake, upgraded top mount and HPFP internals done. Next job is the downpipe, which I'll save for a long weekend... After watching your videos it confirms that I might regret going upgraded TMIC rather than front mount but can always swap it out. Looking forward to getting a bigger turbo in there, but still enjoying good power and good boost :P
On my speed 6 I'm running jbr 3" intake, cpe top mount intercooler, corksport catted downpipe, cpe 3" exhaust, autotech hpfp internals. Tune by stratified. Probably going to to a front mount intercooler next.
First and foremost, make sure your engine and transmission, brakes, are in great working condition. He's right about the engine mounts. If you plan on running a big turbo at some point in the future,WAIT to buy the exhaust, intake, tip, fuel internals and accessport. So you don't buy things twice. I would buy wheels, coilovers or springs, rear sway bar and front strut tower brace and fmic, rear camber arms. Happy Driving!!! BTW- you most certainly need a tune with exhaust. Catback no, but turboback yes then an accessport is required.
Really hoping to be able to buy my cousin's Speed3 from him (would've rather have just bought a 2013 instead of my 2014 Mazda 3, but I didn't think about it at the time), and will definitely have to come back to this video if that happens.
Awesome! I've owned a 2010 mazdaspeed3 for a little over a year now and haven't done a single thing to it as I'm not sure if I will keep it or trade it in later.. leaning more towards keeping it though
great video! the wife likes the whole idea of modified cars but the funnny thing is she doesn't know how to drive standard and she doeant want to learn ( busy with the baby) so I bought an auto mazda 3 07 grand touring. is it worth boosting and modify it or just a standard modify?
What if I'm already more than satisfied with stock performance and just want a little noise like a mere intake, axle back exhaust or just some muffler and atmospheric BOV? Even if I'm not really interested in racing or anything like that, would these three basic parts alone require a tune or those upgraded fuel pump internals or would the car be safe enough without them just for those three parts alone?
Hi, i have searching everywhere and im totally stuck regarding the stock alignment for a 2013 mazda 3 mps? What is the front & rear camber settings ment to be? Please help me.
Great info. Is there some where on the net with a list of all the mods done on you car? Trying to skip the trail and error and go with something proven. Also what are some good forums for info on stock/modded Speed 3?
My dad has owned a gen 1 speed 3 since it was new in 08. It has been left completely stock and the turbo is starting to burn out. I'm thinking about buying the car and starting to modify it but I'm not sure what to do about the burnt turbo. Should I just replace it with another stock speed 3 turbo until I can afford the other parts on your list? Or buy a better aftermarket one. Also what turbos do you recommend for the speed 3?
The MS3 platform has a few options in regards to turbos. I believe that one isn't really "better" than the other, so it's important to have a direction for your setup. I recommend that if you're just looking to be "faster than stock", go with the Corksport Turbo or the BNR S3. Both of these options are direct bolt-ons and with the right tuning, will get you at LEAST 350 whp on 93 octane. The K04 (stock turbo) is not a bad little unit though...spools quick but also looses gas quick. Plenty of people (including myself) upgrade the turbo much later in the setup. Before you decide to upgrade, you at LEAST need the things on this list PLUS the parts that I discuss in my "Big Turbo" video. I hope this helps!
@@jamesherrington5606 if for example I go with a bolt on corksport or cobb turbo is it compatible with a v3 access port in terms of a safe tune? im looking for something thats gonna hold up better than stock, proper turbine sizing and a billit turbine wheel etc... not necessarily big turbo
Is there a way to know if my speed3 already has the fuel pump internals? I bought it from Copart and it has a cold air intake, blow off valve and an exhaust but there’s no way to contact the previous owner to know exactly what was done with the car
Hey I noticed you said Tampa I live in Florida too I've had my speed for a year now . I would love to maybe meet up and talk about our cars I have lots of questions .
I have a 08 mazdaspeed 3 i have a injen cold air intake and a hks BPV, Do you recommend a cobb tuner? And which one need help with that been asking around
So I’m going to be buying a full straight pipe turbo back exhaust, is it recommended that I get a tune done or should I be fine without it. Car is basically stock other than a bov
when u upgrade to the cobb down pipe and erase the second cat, will that make the check engine light to come on? In my state as long as there are no codes present it will pass inspection.
To answer your question directly: YES. Deleting Cat Converters will trigger a CEL code. However: if you get an Accessport and a custom tune, your tuner will normally block the code. Hope that helps!
WhatsN3xt one more question thank you for getting back to me so quickly. are you able to disconnect the accessport from the OBD and still block the code? sorry for the dumb question I am still new to Mazdaspeed3 I have watched most of your videos they're great.
Hahaha! Thanks for following the channel! And Yes, once you load the tune, it'll have the code blocked as a part of the map so you do not have to leave the Accessport plugged up.
Hahaha! Thanks for following the channel! And Yes, once you load the tune, it'll have the code blocked as a part of the map so you do not have to leave the Accessport plugged up.
WhatsN3xt omg! tysm u dont even know what this means I want to soak every penny into my car right now thank you so much again. please keep posting videos on how to's, and suggestions!
Great info. I just picked up a genjuan last month. Any thoughts on what to do about carbon build up? I noticed a lot in my muffler, and I'm wondering if there's any sort of power loss happening during combustion. it has 100k miles on it, and I thought the previous owner knew to do anything about it.
I'm enjoying your channel! Now I'm a noob at all this, I've only have had my Speed3 for two weeks, it's a 2012. I have the all the mounts installed and I absolutely love the NVH! It feels racy... My fuel pump interals are on order, but my GFB BOV came in early, can I install the bov before the fuel pump interals. Does the upgraded fuel pump have any affect on the performance of the bov, and is there a required tune after the bov is installed? I'm like you, I like to hear the swoosh sound! Thank you again for your help Dexter! Travis (DFW, Texas)
+WhatsN3xt, Thank you Brother! That GFB is crazy good, loving it! I'm a little nervous about doing the fuel internals myself, fuel,fire,yeah... Thank you for the reply.
hi Mate, i was just wondering why some people jump to the downpipe and fuel pump upgrade and a tune instead of an intake and a turbo inlet pipe and a tune?

Sure! If you follow the factory maintenance schedule, you shouldn't have any issues! Once you start modifying the car, then things change a little! But I can look at putting something together for you!
Thank you so much, I understand a lot better what everything does. Very knowledgeable, new to the mazdaspeed 3. Been having my car since March and I love my speed .. instagram chamoroid12_speed3 !! !!!! !!!!!!
In case you were wondering, people still watch these lol. Super informative man thank you

my favorite part about this video is the pics of the parts that he is talking about iv seen them on line and it basically puts a face to the name
Jonah Bellis : I'm glad it was helpful!
dude big shout out, this video is awesome!!! the info is great, I was looking for a video like this for a while.
Insanely helpful. Best video by far on the speed 3. I have a gen 1 so it seems more difficult to find good videos on it. Great video!
Gen 1 and Gen 2 are fundamentally the same car! 😁 Glad that you found this helpful!
Haha i am so involved in the video, then i suddenly think: "dude i dont even have a MS3"
But if i ever have one ill know what to deal with, thanks my man!
this guy just totally showed us how to turn a MZ3 into a MS3 conversion. :)
Damond Motorsports sells all 3 mounts in street and racing applications in different color combinations for 600 bucks. Solid units.
This needs way more views!

Should put the list in description
You should make a vid on where to start when you wanna go big turbo
+BDthizzin Good idea...!
+WhatsN3xt Hey there! I just made a video about going Big Turbo! Check it out if you haven't already!
