Years ago I won a computer art contest in Wichita, Ks., took 1st and 2nd place. The first place prize was Lightwave 2.0. It was awsome back then too. I used POVray for the contest, which I never used again after winning Lightwave. (2.0, tells you just how long ago that was). Your rendering was fantastic, great job. Awsome job on the models also. Thanks for the upload, brought back memories long gone.
Always loved how the Raiders were actually a lot more graceful than the Vipers. The Raiders flew more aerially while the Vipers were ballistic machines.
My only minor criticism would be to dial back the intensity on the Galactica's engines so you can see them better. All I saw was a bright white rectangle. Speaking of engines, the Base Star never had any discernible means of propulsion. And it always spun around as it moved, meaning no one side had the engines. Likewise the Death Star. No visible means of propulsion.
As I continously watch your amazing work. I just wondered, who built the 'meshes', isn't that what they're called(?) of the classic Battlestar Galactica. And how much would they cost to use in one's own 3D animations?
The only thing you didn't quite nail was the connection of the landing bays to the ship. Yes, three upper connectors, but each bay was also connected to the main body of the ship by a massive support brace. This is great, but a comment only and no disrespect but the star field seems a bit out of sync. The rest I really enjoyed. I can't wait to see more releases.
Now THAT is my girl! She is MY Galactica. Yeah the reimagined series was good, but it wasn't Galactica! It didn't have the elegance of the Battlestar. The nobility of the Colonies. The pageantry of the theme when it plays the hair on my arms stand up. Granted the 'space disco' was over the top, and crash landing every other episode and finding human colonies was a little much, would lead some 8-year-olds to ask "why didn't they just settle there?" Because the network executives wouldn't let them! But whatever new incarnation they come up with, I hope it goes back to what we grew up with and not the Ronald Moore wet dream of a half naked Trisha Hefner, Lucy Lawless, and Grace Park.
The Galactica is such an awesome design. I fell in love with it right from the start.

execeellnt work. I never understood why a Battlestar was no match for a cylon basestar. they are both evenly matched and sized.
