i think its actually fake. Lightning doesnt avoid tall objects to strike a bush, no after flame of any kind even though it produces several thousand degrees temperature, it can instantly evaporate water on objects that are struck, no steam, no smoke, no after flame, its fake..
Good day Everyone,Today you have been given another opportunity to set your life in order as Tomorrow is not promised onto any man,Do not take it for Granted,Repent and surrender your life to Jesus Christ.
Excellent work!! I love that you managed to get each lightning strike synced with the sound of thunder! I do have a couple of suggestions though: Lightning is only percieved as purple during the night. In this setting is would commonly be percieved as white. If a lightning bolt struck that close, there would a split second afterwards where you could see it dissipate into tiny sparks. And there would be a brief explosion of smoke on the lawn where it hit, though any fire instantly quenched by the rain! Great work though! Its amazing!
I literally had to hold my eyelids to make sure I don't blink at the wrong time......and now my eyes are watery 👀💧😂😂 Edit: Jeez I know I can stop the vid and all but I still wanted to not blink.....u getting it?? 😂
A lightning strike or lightning bolt is an electric discharge between the atmosphere and the ground. Most originate in a cumulonimbus cloud and terminate on the ground, called cloud-to-ground (CG) lightning. A less common type of strike, ground-to-cloud (GC) lightning, is upward propagating lightning initiated from a tall grounded object and reaching into the clouds. About 69% of all lightning events worldwide are strikes between the atmosphere and earth-bound objects. Most are intra-cloud (IC) lightning and cloud-to-cloud (CC), where discharges only occur high in the atmosphere. Lightning strikes the average commercial aircraft at least once a year, but modern engineering and design means this is rarely a problem. The movement of aircraft through clouds can even cause lightning strikes.
Wanna know about lightings? Well when you look at the still pics of the lighting bolt it's is purple, it is actually red but due to the camera it looks purple. When it was being rec it might have seen some red flashes which means it was a sign of the lighting. There are different types of lightings, I'm not going to list them all but there is one lighting I might think is the one in the vid. I think the lighting in the vid is the Ball Lighting, it is the most rarest lighting you can get and it is red. I don't know much about it but I think it stikes anything that is tall like a building or tree so that is why it hit the house. I think that is all I need to tell you about this lighting 🙂
Dear Matt. I am a lightning Fanatic, I have ben for half my Adult life. What you have captured is what of the strikes leaders. You most certainly would have found yourself with perforated ear drums if that was the main discharge. Chances are the main Discharge (or bolt/Strike) was to the sides of the cameras field of view or even behind your house. That was just one of the smaller branch like parts that sometimes come from lightning. Absolutely Fantastic Vision. Hope you capture many more. P.S. your home is NOT, the safest place to be for lightning protection (it is safer than outside though) it turns out you car is the safest because of ots metal construction. lightning is always trying to earth or complete its circuit, so it will always try to find the easiest route or path of least resistance. If lightning strikes you car it will simply travel through the metal body of you car and jump from the lowest point of you car to the ground (if lightning can leap from the sky to the ground, it can leap from you tail pipe to the ground also. Its not the tires that protect you) In doing this, it will avoid electrocuting you, unless for some reason you form part of the discharge circuit.
I only want new video ...not old ones ...that I have never seen before ....please is there a box to check for newer video only ...I want to see the RUclips manger please....... right now
As kids in Minnesota we played catch in the rain and nothing happened. But in 1992 here in Tigard (Portland) Oregon I "shared" a lightning strike with a power pole while getting into a customers car here at the shop. Nearly knocked me out and I lost my hearing for 3 days in my left ear. I can" brag" about a lighting hit but not say it was all mine. But I still have a childish fascination with Tstorms to this day.
When I was kid, i always stood at the metal door of my house and watched the lightning when it thundered. The lightning always hit the floor about 1-2 meters in front of my house. 😂😂
There was a photo I saw once which explained the phenomenon of lightning striking twice by the charge building enough and sending a strike. A leader from the ground (often up to 10 metres long) which reaches up to the clouds strike, they connect and then the full discharge. The photo which showed 'leaders' reaching up from a tree, a street light and a few other tall items and lightning from the sky reaching to connect. This appeared to make me think that the naturally charged planet was offering various routes to the charge in the cloud. The first still at 1.17 shows the ground leader, centre of the lower edge of the frame, reaching up to make a connection so that the cloud can discharge. You have captured a ground leader which is a rare thing to capture without hi speed video or photographic equipment.
I had an experience like this..it happened in 2008..riding a motorcycle then it rained heavily..stopped in the tunnel of the motorcycle route..the lightning hit a tree in front of the eye of the distance approximately 150 meters from the shelter in the tunnel..it was hit by a branch and broken..after 5 days the tree died ..
More proof that lightning doesn't always strike the highest object. There's a photograph of the space shuttle on its launch pad, yet the bolt hits a small hut nearby.
@@thatdude4237 I agree, I'm just addressing the old adage that lightning hits the tallest object. I've lived in two houses struck by lighting, and they were surrounded by taller objects in the immediate vicinity.
I believe the footage is real and unaltered, but these are ghosting artifacts caused by the lens and rolling shutter that make the lightning appear to be striking very nearby when it isn't (bolts are shifted down vertically from true location). Dead giveaway is the shape of all the bolts matching, and they occur one frame before a bright strike. Real strike was probably about 200 yards away based on audio delay.
Its not fake... if you look closely frame by frame, you can see upward streamers / positive streamers at the house and on the street several times, as the step leader connects to one of them. Go search for positive streamers and do some research please...
You sure? Might be like it's a stream and the streamer dies... Live.... And it's a stream so it's on the Internet now... So one can clip the stream.... So the camera man is dead of that clip/vid You get me? I know I am a bit confusing... sorry for the negative thoughts tho
that was a pretty neat storm. tons of CG's. But yeah the CCD made it look like its close, but, its just a reflection off the real bolt. it was close still, enough to make ya jump.

Not fake at all - you can see the main bolt strike well behind the trees and hence the "delay" in thunder. The bolts in the foreground are minor branches from the main bolt. Awesome catch of a bolt, Matt!
