@@Nerevar5mehe had armor setups, meterless restand/resets, any button leads to vortex, hard to blockables/ unblockables, full screen launching low special that lead to full combo, hit comfortable overhead and launching low string, great zoning, good mixup, good damage, the only thing was he had slow pokes, a bad reversal, and unsafe low launcher. But if he got a turn and had meter it was basically over if you knew what you were doing.
@TheLordofEntropy he was high tier but not top tier, quans pressure was very setup dependent and his play style was very meter focused, because to get a combo off his low zoning tool you had to ex it. Kind of a steamroll character tho. Everything had to line up right for him to snap you out of existence. But he had poor defense. Still a very capable character, tho not invincible. I’d say just go back and watch dink play him! Pnd ketchup also had a dirty quan chi.

I didn’t play MKX. This is my first (and very enjoyable) experience playing Quan. Glad to finally be able to benefit from your vids on a character we’re both enjoying!
I came across shujinky's channel since mk1 released and I loved it. But I also came across some mkx clips of him like a week ago and I was shocked by how much his quan chi's op. Before quan chi nerfs in mkx he absolutely mixed the heck out his opponents and I liked his gameplay a lot. You're a legend shujinky.
I really wish Motaro didn’t subtract health 😭 You can do a stand 4 into bone cage and then Motaro teleport to combo from it directly, which means you can get full combo punishes from anywhere with your fullscreen stand 4 😮💨 If you fire purple skulls and then Motaro teleport, you can combo from them and get really decent damage If you activate Tail Turret from fullscreen and then land a Sky Drop right away, Motaro’s projectiles will interupt the animation and you’ll have time to combo them (similar to Tremor) Looots of synergy there, but I’m not so sure it’s worth dying to two Liu Kang combos 🤧
Sub zero gives portal at the end of combos before pushing full screen as well as hard knockdown into EX bone dome. Also a crazy anti air into the bone dome setup
TLDR: does non-ex BoneDome block enemy kameo assists? Does non-ex BoneDome keep subzero or tremor kameo from giving armor or keep motaro lao from them teleporting? Other wise i dont see much use of the non-ex BoneDome if it disappears by the time you recover.
I’m also noticing something odd with EX bone dome. Info on the moves list page says it’s unblockable but it can definitely be blocked. So I’m confused about that, because yea the ex pops faster and stays on the ground longer, but it’s not doing the thing it says it does. When labbing it, the damage properties on the EX move are the same as the base version. 30.0 mid on hit, 13.75 mid on block.
@@andrewvirtue5048 Yea, it does a small amount of damage. I haven’t messed around with it in regards to having characters escape from it. Definitely something to experiment with.
I use Sub Zero as a kameo with him. His shoulder for safety or pushback if you want, projectile nullification while zoning, and the freeze to extend from 213. Decent and well rounded pick i think. Get kind of the best of Motaro and Sareena in 1
I think the reason why Quan Chi’s EX low tentacle grab costs two bars is because of his 2144 string. The last two hits of that string are overheads, and he can cancel into low tentacle at any time. So they have to guess right twice in a row.
@@hanzobi1926 Totally different and Shang being a zoner don't make sense. Quan Chi is also a zoner but from what I've seen, he is even more focused on zoning than Shang Tsung, considering his down pokes are abysmal and he only really excels at fullscreen.
Hey, dont know if this is a glitch or not, if you activate zone of power and have Quan stand in front of it to where his elbow is just inside of it...when you meter burn db 1 it hits overhead low for some reason not overhead mid.
@@shujinkydink The spacing and timing is tricky tho, I get it to work one out of 3 times on average right now. Sometimes I can do it 4 times in a row, might be good with some Kameo set ups. Oh and it's still minus 3 on block too.
I took me an entire day to untrain myself from trying to AA with d2 and use s3 instead. his uppercut is awful at actually catching jumpers outside of a hyperspecific range.
No trance. No rune. No woolay. How unfortunate. The 1,2 string seems like it has the highest cancel advantage in the game, it can combo into EX db1 and EX bf1 (which is a launcher with db3 active, if you want a combo), as well as Cyrax net. As for the tentacle costing two bars, it does give you the same launch no matter the gravity scaling, but that means it's just to tack something on to the end of a combo which is probably not worth it unless there's some amazing kameo related tech to apply, I wouldn't be surprised because I can never figure out the good stuff. Skydrop brutality is a fun callback though. But as long as you're enjoying him, it's nice to see you get your main back.
People new to this character don’t know how much of a monster he was in X.
Tell me more

I get wrecked by Johnny cage and Kenshi. Raiden too. Once they get in it’s difficult to do anything. 9f d1 is rough
You need above average footsies with quan. Even sonic fox with him was getting eatin alive by xombats scorpion
Standing 4 to break sub zero projectile shield is actually clutch for a zoner

Good tutorial but. It would be nice if u can input the kombo Button’s 😢
Need to buff his health and speed up jab and D1 don’t think his zoning warrants all these disadvantages

probably not the first person to point this out, but cyrax net combos off of 1,2
