It's been out for awhile and I've already seen a bunch of reviews but in typical fashion you still covered some details the others left out. Great work.
Oh yeah? I haven't watched reviews on it yet as I like to do my own work first. What was new on mine? I'm going to guess the tires moving on the wheels and maybe the spacers on the rear shocks..? Cheers
Thanks for the review I’ve been absorbing any info I find on the Blazer it’ll definitely be my next mini. It looks so good out on the trails & has the performance to match. Once you put oil in the shocks & tune it it’s much more stable. It’s on a different leave compared to the competition I have the TRX M also which is fun. But this maybe my new favorite mini. I’m more of a 1:10 scale Crawler enthusiast but the mini’s keep getting better & better.
Yeah they are beautiful rigs I have the black one and orange and white one, I took the camper off for the orange and white one and then I cut the back window out the glass is already there looks 100% better, appreciate the video I’ll watch for more
I just want one, oh wait, I have got one, can not wait to get them out. The little bit of driving I have done it feels like my TRX-4 defender and Bronco, moves the same. Oh, love a good Simpson’s quote, good way to start the day.
I bought an Scx24 a couple of years ago, and spent some money on upgrades, and it's still not great. I wished I'd have waited, as these look so good, and really perform for what they are. I'd have saved some cash, too. Great little cars. 😎🤘🏻
SO jealous, still waiting for my local hobby shop to send me mine. They said they would be getting allocated some pre-order stock from the Australian FMS distro. Now i wish i'd bought from ATees too.
16:08 just looking at your vid, I think oil filled shocks would help with the stability/roll over. Seems like it bounces and that doesn't help. Of course turning too sharp at speed, same prob with the suzuki samarai ....lots of those ended up on their sides.
I recently ordered one of these units in the orange and white ( my first experience with hobby rc cars) and was super excited the day it came in. Let it charge up slapped her 2gether took her for a spin in the front yard and within 3 minutes of operating a weed wrapped around the rear wheel immediately snapping the rear drive shaft 🤦♂️ I took it to a local hobby shop in my area and they suggested I send thr unit back and get a Traxxas trx4m unit form thier shop...... seeing as how they are a dealer... and carry tons of Traxxas parts I decided to sleep on it. The shop owner told me he considered this unit to be more toy grade. So the next day I returned my unit to Amazon then bought a Ford f150 ranger xlt high trail edition trx4m and I absolutely love it 💯
I'm sorry you had a bad first experience with snapping the axle. I understand why the store guy said this was more toy grade, although I disagree. Having both a TRX4m and numerous fms models, they both have their strengths and weaknesses. In any case, I'm glad you're happy!
@@RCTNT the only thing I really liked more about the fmc was the fact it had a 2 speed transmission.... that was cool to be able to go fast. But another point he mad was the fmc runs on a circuit board .... which when gets wet or damaged is junk.....whereas the trx4m has the motor the steering servo and the ecm which csn be swapped out fairly easily. And I liked supporting a local business and if I have any problems I can go there instead of looking for parts online. I am looking forward to getting some new rims.... Lil bigger tires.....and some treal diff covers. My first rc car so kinda cool learning about the ways to customize it. Thanks for the input 👍
@mikemartin6857 I take the point, but it applies to both trucks. The TRX4m and the FMS FCX24 both have an integrated receiver/esc and separate servo and motor. The TRX4m unit is simply inside a plastic case, but regardless, both are waterproofed. Just look in this video we're commenting under, I submarined both the FCX24 and the TRX4m and both are fine. I like the steering servo better on the FCX24, it's stronger and faster than the TRX4m one. For TRX4m upgrades, you may find this helpful anyway: ruclips.net/video/QHQc6ZLXJkY/видео.html Cheers!
You guys are something special. I would never leave the house for the outside. Crocs, Brown snakes, and funnel web spiders are just a fraction of critters wanting people dead. Nope not me.
The ezyrc LC80 I have here was enough to put me off the FMS version, but really, that's an emotional association not based on logic. All the FMS stuff I have here is amazing, so yes, I should! Thanks.
@@RCTNT Oh you can not compare the two. The current one is amazing, I have one here. It’s got all the bells and whistles. Oil shocks, 2 speed, portals, all metal links, bead locks, foams, full light kit, big battery, hitch. Even an interior available as extra. Only thing you really need to do is upgrade to metal diffs and drive train. Give it a try. 😉
What a great series of vehicles FMS have been releasing in the last couple of years. I've already gotten used to getting more excited to any FMS release, than any of Tamiya or any other big brand. They really are knocking it out of the park! I wonder if for the next generation of their smaller chassis they'll match Kuro King's un/locking diffs. If they "democratize" that on "mainstream" RC manufacturing in a small chassis, they'll basically have the scale public - even more- at the palm of their hand! I believe the high speed motor will be an ideal match to the Max Smasher MT, rather than the trail/light crawler type of the Blazer.
Absolutely, yes to all of the above. I'm going to test the 87T 180 from the TRX4m on it and also maybe the 27000rpm motor from the same seller I got the 40k unit from. Diff locks in the tiny stuff is so fun!
Whoa, I didn't even know 1/24 scale remote locking diffs were a thing! That'd be so awesome if FMS could put that feature into their next release. Amazing times for mini rc.
That definitely works for some, but I'm not a fan. Wheel speed becomes untenable, which I use on both of these. But for only truly slow crawlers, with no wheel speed, that's totally an option 👍 My preferred budget mod for this is to wind solder around the wheel, with a forward weight bias. Either way, if it works, it works! Cheers
Fms Makes a speed motor, it even comes with an extra battery. I have one in my Smasher. Makes it pull wheelies if youre going 1/4 throttle then floor it. Haven't put one in the Blazer yet but I got one. Only thing is you have to buy steel drive shafts because the plastic ones can't handle the torque.
@@RCTNT the smasher wheels and tires weigh about the same as crawler tires on aluminum beadlocks surprisingly. The speed motor is just really powerful. Like im not gonna bother going brushless fast. and it was like under $20 US, comes with a heatsink and xtra Batt

12:34 when I first saw this the first thing I thought "remove the cap" and you DO need to put a decal or sticker for the rear window though.....I can see that being the base for a dozen upgrades and it'd be a nice trail truck.....with the detail on the hard body it's prime for all kinds of customization as well.
@@kanedaadenak7088 yeah that's what I was thinking. Get a chrome paint pen and paint trim around the perimeter and put some "glare" slashes on the glass.
Hellow. Great Video. This will be my first rc crawler. Can I change the battery or use a backup battery. Or install a battery with more capacity? 30 min last is so little.
You can use any 2s battery with the same connector, and you can also make an adapter for any other connector to this one. 30 minutes is heaps and if you have a spare battery, changing it only takes a minute. Going bigger adds weight, which decreases performance. Still, if you do go bigger, I'd still look to keep it at 500mah max so it fits better in the battery area and isn't too heavy.
Got mine and added 20wt oil to shocks and works like a gem. More realistic. Try swapping body with that fms smasher and it looks great too. Awesome review!
Press the little tabs in underneath. There's a pair at each end. They bend in a bit, allowing the body to lift off the chassis. The tabs are part of the body, so when you press them in, you're also looking to press them up through the chassis. Hope you work it out!

There is no lubricant, I can confirm that. Have had it open for motor swap. You could pack it with grease or something but I suspect it'll be noisy regardless. If I try this, I'll report back :)
