    This was a good video for sure. I like when you keep some of the more fiddly parts in. Professionally done but still keeps a personal touch. Was good to see you go for a quick trail run. The 6 problem course is good but not everything has to conquer it. Admittedly I am more of a trail truck fan so I might be a bit biased.

    Love mine as well! It’s very capable.. Compared to my also loved TRX4, the RGT Rescuer has even more scale appearance when driving, gotta love the body and details too. I’ve added smaller diameter tires, lights from GRC and running HW1080 and Noble NB4 for more channels/control. Looking into the Fusion SE.. It’s charming, capable, scale, good looking and great fun to drive. Well done to RGT! A worthwhile addition to any scale crawler enthusiast. Thanks for showing off the upgrades! I’ll stick to round and square ad on lights though..

    I bought one and it's first trail run was alongside a Carisma SCA 1E Range Rover. I was not inpressed. It really struggled on anything steepI. My solution was to loose weight. I attacked it with my Drimmel. Shortened the rear removed the roof roof rack, most the roof and windows. Turned it into more of a pickup. The path of weight reduction changed it completely. 100% improvement in all areas. Shame I can't post a pic ✌️❤️🙏

    • @RCTNT
      @RCTNT  Год назад

      Fair enough. Sounds like a reasonable improvement. I found it to be okay in most areas for crawling, given its obvious trail bias. Certainly it did better than the SCA-1E Coyote 2.1 on my test track here, but size of tires could influence that too.
      In any case, it sounds like the weight chops you made were a real improvement. Glad you got a satisfactory outcome from it!

    10:32 Now your 6 problems are for all out rock crawlers, here's an idea (yeah I'm full of em alright) how about a trail truck crawler course? Sand, "logs", muck, inclines, etc? That way you can test the combo vehicles that aren't built for rock crawling but for something like an average joe would do off road.
    Rope bridges, tight turns, medium rocks, stuff like that?

    As much as I appreciate and enjoy RGT for their unique rigs, features and their excellent value I just cannot get on board with the price of this model. It's just too close to TRX4 prices here in the United States and parts are always 2-4 weeks out coming from China vs 2 days for TRX4 parts. I'll keep banging around my low price high value RGTs (including the Challenger) and remain clear of the Rescuer unless that price drops down under $350 shipped. Excellent content as always and I appreciate all you do! You've been a huge influence to my son and I in our hobby.

    • @RCTNT
      @RCTNT  Год назад +2

      Very much understandable. I think the value proposition for USA residents is going to be different to EU and Asia-Pacific hobbyists. For one thing, Chinese stuff is physically closer to us. For another, we don't have the trade friction between USA and China (though it isn't all smooth sailing). But the big deal for USA folks is that Traxxas and Horizon brands are all USA-based. USA is the big market, so breaking into that from elsewhere is no small task for RGT and co!
      Thanks for the kind words, too. I appreciate you guys and I'm really glad to be bringing you some value. Cheers!

      @@RCTNTa few RGT models have landed on Amazon in the US with next day delivery. Parts are still coming from China. If I have time and capital I'd consider becoming a RGT distributor but I know how unlikely that is being that Chinese business is heavily controlled by the government. If it's one of the transmission gears:

      It could also be that it just isn't engaging properly between gears, in which case these might be what you need:
      a.aliexpress.com/_msvvaEw
      Really, you want to pull it apart and inspect the gears. It's unusual to blow these gears, honestly. See if you can find which one/s are broken.

My rear locker constantly unlocks when engaged. I think I need to adjust the endpoints. I know you mentioned it being possible in your writeup on this platform. But I cannot find the info in any of the literature given with the truck. Huge fan please help! Thanks!

    • @RCTNT
      @RCTNT  11 месяцев назад +1

      G'day, I am pretty sure there's no epa for channels other than 1 and 2. For the rear locker, you will need to engage the locker (whichever servo direction pushes the cable toward the rear axle), then disconnect the power. Now loosen the screw securing the shifter cable, push it through a bit until you have solid locker engagement. Might take some wriggling. When you're happy, tighten the screw. Power up and test engagement and disengagement. Watch closely as you do it and consider moving the cable a little further, or a little bit back, whatever gets it to the best point for both positions.
      That's pretty much the only option with this radio, but it's not a bad option. You should only need to do it once. Good luck!

      There's lots of room in a car like this, yep. You can get creative in how you customise it, including battery mounts.

      I like the radio on the FMS more, and their 2-speed transmission seems a bit nicer. But for all other aspects of the car, including performance, the RGT is the better vehicle I think. But it's close, they are both great cars.

      The stock beadlock wheel can fit brass behind it on the axle, yes. You can also swap the wheels and that will work too.

    Hi there, if you check the droop of the Axel's you will find it isn't very much compared to the TRX4. Increasing the droop makes it much better everywhere. Cheers Neale

      You could be right, there. I'd expect more droop would make it worse on trail driving, but maybe not. I'll look look into it, thanks.

    if someone can shine some light for my issue it will be great.I am considering either buying the rgt rescuer or the trx4 defender.rgt is 369USD on asiatees and the trx4 is 499 on rcmart and the fms fcx10 for 399.which one is the better option.cheers

    • @RCTNT
      @RCTNT  3 месяца назад

      I've got videos about all of these. They're all premium vehicles. The TRX4 has the best quality running gear and tires. The RGT has the best electronics and if all are left stock, probably the best performance (though it's close with the TRX4). The FMS has the nicest radio system, but it's also limiting in that the receiver is an all-in-one unit.
      Suggest you look at the crawl videos of the RGT and fms here to assess capability. The stock trx4 Bronco also, as I don't have the defender in stock form on video.
      If money is no object, buy the TRX4 and expect to replace the servo.
      Else the RGT represents great value - just be ready to waterproof that receiver.
      If you buy the FMS, it needs a few mods for durability and performance, IMO. Video on that coming soon.
