I must say that your videos on this car were the last drop and I have literally just 5 Minutes ago ordered one (as FTX Outback Tracker). On question regarding the updates - with all the weight added - have you considered upgrading the motor to something like Hobbywing Fusion Pro 2300kv or similar?
Heh, sorry about that! (not sorry, it's a great car) You totally could do that, though go with the cheaper Fusion se 1800kv and stock gearing, it'll be more manageable when crawling and still plenty fast in 2nd gear. The stock motor is good and running on 2s I think the truck is excellent as it is. I'd spend the money on a punchy servo before changing the power system - but there's nothing wrong with swapping to a Fusion if you want!
I shared the links in the description to where I got mine. If there's a store in Australia who has imported them already, you may find them on ebay. Hobbies Direct in Geelong carries RGT parts, but I don't know how big their range currently is. Rescuer portal outers won't fit the straight axled Pioneer - no portals on that rig!
@@RCTNTjust got one today finally I need new gearbox gears for it tho I got it second hand very cheap but needs attention to the gearbox do you know where to grab them at all?
Have you identified which gears are bad? It's possible, likely, even, that it's just the spur gear you need. I found this spur gear: a.aliexpress.com/_mqAEbwm Pinion: a.aliexpress.com/_mt6pXyw If it's one of the transmission gears: a.aliexpress.com/_mLtSSJy It could also be that it just isn't engaging properly between gears, in which case these might be what you need: a.aliexpress.com/_msvvaEw Really, you want to pull it apart and inspect the gears. It's unusual to blow these gears, honestly. See if you can find which one/s are broken.
Hey bud I cannot find how to adjust the EPA for the shift and diff lock servos. Is this possible? On my RGT, the rear diff lock servo specifically has hardly any throw out of the box. My rear locker constantly unlocks when engaged. I think I need to adjust the endpoints. I know you mentioned it being possible in your writeup on this platform. But I cannot find the info in any of the literature given with the truck. Huge fan please help! Thanks!
G'day, I am pretty sure there's no epa for channels other than 1 and 2. For the rear locker, you will need to engage the locker (whichever servo direction pushes the cable toward the rear axle), then disconnect the power. Now loosen the screw securing the shifter cable, push it through a bit until you have solid locker engagement. Might take some wriggling. When you're happy, tighten the screw. Power up and test engagement and disengagement. Watch closely as you do it and consider moving the cable a little further, or a little bit back, whatever gets it to the best point for both positions. That's pretty much the only option with this radio, but it's not a bad option. You should only need to do it once. Good luck!
@@RCTNT I really really appreciate your help. Thank you so much. And thanks for all you do for the hobby. I’ve watched your channel since the start. Congrats on your growth. Wishing you more and more success.
Great video. Quick question. I’m tempted to buy one of these, but the uk ftx version doesn’t come with a battery. I’ve got some 5000 mah nimh batteries, but they are quite long. Do you think they will fit in the battery tray? Thanks
The maximum battery dimensions for the tray in the RGT Rescuer (EX86190) are approximately 135mm in length, 47mm in width, and 26mm in height. You may be get away with higher then this, depending on body interior clearance on the underside.
I like the radio on the FMS more, and their 2-speed transmission seems a bit nicer. But for all other aspects of the car, including performance, the RGT is the better vehicle I think. But it's close, they are both great cars.
I was picturing exactly and only YOU when I mentioned wrestling with models. That was a Muskoka Mike-inspired editing pause in this video. And you went and picked on this instead. Can't win! Lol
Hi there, if you check the droop of the Axel's you will find it isn't very much compared to the TRX4. Increasing the droop makes it much better everywhere. Cheers Neale
if someone can shine some light for my issue it will be great.I am considering either buying the rgt rescuer or the trx4 defender.rgt is 369USD on asiatees and the trx4 is 499 on rcmart and the fms fcx10 for 399.which one is the better option.cheers
I've got videos about all of these. They're all premium vehicles. The TRX4 has the best quality running gear and tires. The RGT has the best electronics and if all are left stock, probably the best performance (though it's close with the TRX4). The FMS has the nicest radio system, but it's also limiting in that the receiver is an all-in-one unit. Suggest you look at the crawl videos of the RGT and fms here to assess capability. The stock trx4 Bronco also, as I don't have the defender in stock form on video. If money is no object, buy the TRX4 and expect to replace the servo. Else the RGT represents great value - just be ready to waterproof that receiver. If you buy the FMS, it needs a few mods for durability and performance, IMO. Video on that coming soon.

@@RCTNTjust got one today finally I need new gearbox gears for it tho I got it second hand very cheap but needs attention to the gearbox do you know where to grab them at all?
Have you identified which gears are bad? It's possible, likely, even, that it's just the spur gear you need.
I found this spur gear:

Pinion:

If it's one of the transmission gears:

It could also be that it just isn't engaging properly between gears, in which case these might be what you need:

Really, you want to pull it apart and inspect the gears. It's unusual to blow these gears, honestly. See if you can find which one/s are broken.
Is it okay if I blame you 4 buying more of these RC vehicles because you're reviews are so good and informative😂 when my wife asks?
Haha sure, go for it
I am rarely accused of being like most people, but I do enjoy the “mucking around” that occasionally happens. Great looking truck, too!
Nice to know, thank you!
That is a good looking RC.
It sure is!
@thecustomshopinc.6883 thanks for that! Appreciate it 🙏all the best with getting that locker adjusted. Happy trails!
Theres a conversion kit for the TRX4 to fit this body and bumpers
You can even buy a clear version of this body. That would be cool to do. I've added a link to that in the parts list on the description here.
What is the best and perfect adventure kit?
This, TRX4 and Cross RC EMO AT4 are all great choices. I have reviews for these on my channel.
@@RCTNT thanks. From the look of it there’s also room to run the battery rotated 90 degrees. So sitting across the body.
There's lots of room in a car like this, yep. You can get creative in how you customise it, including battery mounts.
@@RCTNT I just need to decide between this and the FMS FCX10 k5 now!
I like the radio on the FMS more, and their 2-speed transmission seems a bit nicer. But for all other aspects of the car, including performance, the RGT is the better vehicle I think. But it's close, they are both great cars.
hi i have thar rgt86190 i wondering a beadlock wheel will fit in the front brass
The stock beadlock wheel can fit brass behind it on the axle, yes. You can also swap the wheels and that will work too.
8:28 driving begins..
This one wasn't really a driving one was it. See the wet river run for a 95% driving video :)
Lookin' good.!!
Thanks, they've done a great job with it!
New Sub geat vid. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you and welcome!
🖐😁
Nice sharing my friend 👏💯👍
I subscribe ✌️
Great! Thank you and welcome :)
"don't want too much weight in the rear" that's what HE said!
HA!!! (___Y___)
I was picturing exactly and only YOU when I mentioned wrestling with models. That was a Muskoka Mike-inspired editing pause in this video. And you went and picked on this instead. Can't win! Lol
@@RCTNT sorry, can't get em all! I'm off my game, :-(
Rgt👍👍👍
FTX Outback tracker?
Yes
Hi there, if you check the droop of the Axel's you will find it isn't very much compared to the TRX4. Increasing the droop makes it much better everywhere. Cheers Neale
You could be right, there. I'd expect more droop would make it worse on trail driving, but maybe not. I'll look look into it, thanks.
if someone can shine some light for my issue it will be great.I am considering either buying the rgt rescuer or the trx4 defender.rgt is 369USD on asiatees and the trx4 is 499 on rcmart and the fms fcx10 for 399.which one is the better option.cheers
@@RCTNT Oh thanks alot for the help.I reckon I'll get the RGT then.
keep the monkeying around in, if we don't want to see it we can fast forward....nice to see things more "natural". (just my 2.2 cents, used to be 2 cents, but inflation and all lol)
Where are you living that its only 10%!?
@@RCTNT The gov't says (with tongue in cheek) that inflation is only 4.5% even though they added a carbon tax on everything that has increased gasoline alone by 15%....so I averaged it out hehe
I think you were being generous. I call shenanigans on the world financial system!
@@RCTNT well that goes without saying!
