Craig, thanks so much for the great interview and for helping me show off my project! I really enjoyed chatting with you and am so excited for the Kickstarter launch. A big shoutout to everyone who watched and is supporting the project-your enthusiasm means the world to me!
I hope this is a massive success and you can make enough off of the project to make it worth your time and even develop more small scale RCs! You are an inspiration, keep it up man! I’m on the list now and will spread the word!
I like the blooper at the end. The world needs more Chris energy😅 That was a fantastic video. Truly fascinating hearing the whole design process that Johnathan has gone through to bring this excavator to market. He has done a whole lot of work to make that excellent little machine come to life, and I hope his passion is rewarded with lots of sales. That was most excellent. Thanks for showing us his story.
Chris (Jonathan) here 😂 Thanks so much for the kind words. I have most definitely gone far deeper into this project than I would have ever anticipated, but I am so happy I did. I can't wait to begin sharing my passion for tiny, incredibly inefficient vehicles with others!
@@RCTNT Yeah, I have seen pictures of a digger being used to move sugar. I personally only witnessed the more efficient method of pumping raw sugar into a ship's hold (I remember the air of the port of Bridgetown, Barbados, was sickly sweet with the smell of molasses and despite the rubber spray-suppressing end to the loading pipe, walking on the dock alongside that cargo vessel, every step was crunchy underfoot. Someone remarked at the time how ridiculous this made those silly little paper bag portions of demerara look...).
This is amazing, I have searched for years for an option in HO scale in the US! Just like you I have watched countless videos of those in Germany that build these types of machines. Then spent hours trying to find out where I could buy one, even custom built and never found anything! I will definitely be on the list!
It was great discussion and fascinating the way he designed the product and is bringing it to market. I hope it's a success. Thanks for sharing your discussion.
Great Interview! Thanks! Signed Up for Early Bird and can't wait to get this mate! Awesome! I hope you can make in Interchangeable Bucket and Different Accessories!
Your nanotrax 320 is great ideal, it looks great for HO railroads, which is why I investing and buying your product. I see your love for this. I love RC construction, hope fully for future, I like to give you some ideas on yuk dump truck
Oh nice! Thanks for watching and yes, it's a worthy project eh :) Unrelated, a friend of mine has given me one of your chassis kits to have a play around with. I've been meaning to do that for months! Your comment here has reminded me. Your work looks really cool, keep up the inventing and tinkering :) PS. your shock pliers look really cool. I've never used any such tool before and after watching your video just now, I can't really say why! I'll check out more of your stuff tonight. I've been meaning to do it for ages! Cheers -Craig PPS. maybe we could do an interview at some stage, you seem like an interesting person to talk with.
@@RCTNT Wow small world :) That's awesome you have a kit. Let me know which one you have. Thank you for the kind words on the pliers. My goal was to design something that fit in an adults hand and that would last a long time. Way too many small cheap low quality pliers out there. Happy to chat any time :)
Thanks! I actually don't recall. My friend Justin gave them to me at a comp we ran last year after he upgraded to a different negG kit. I think it's for TRX4 but I really haven't gotten around to checking it out. I've made my own stuff this year and am curious to see what yours is like. Just, busy busy busy. I'll watch a few more of your vids to get an idea of what you're about and then I'll email via your contact email on how YT About page, assuming you've got one. Cheers 😊
17:10 Why not just ship the thing with the track pieces unassembled in a bag and let the customer put them together. It would save him production time, which he could either use to lower the price a bit, or increase his profit margin.
And I'm sure he's thinking about that cuz there is like a lot of 1 ton starting to come out goosenecks flatbeds you know I can definitely see how this could be incorporated into a RC Crawler spot because you know you need to do work to fix up the rocks
I've been buying from AliExpress, from a handful of reputable stores there. Probably the best known is ToucanHobby Store, run by a guy called Oliver. The best rated stores in the niche are generally good to buy from. AT 99 Model Store is another good one. Highway Toy Store, also. Some others I've bought from and trust are RTR Model Store, Motive Hobby Store, AZ-MODEL Store (where I got my wheel loader and my big white one), and SmellySheep Store (lol, yes really).
hey man i was just looking at your website and noticed that your BRX01 had leafs at the back and I was wondering how you got them to spring up that much mine just seem to sag.
I used all of the included leaf springs in the kit. But maybe yours are softer? Dunno. You can always throw some pen springs inside the rear shocks to help give the system some invisible extra spring if you think it needs it.
@Bazil787 may not make much difference but its better than nothing! Can also 3d print a leaf or two from PETG in particular, as it retains its shape even when bent. I've made entire leaf springs from PETG and it works well. Just as a leaf or two will be plenty.
I feel like $100 is sooooooo cheap for this!! I wouldn’t flinch at $250 for something this small and of this quality. I build a lot of Orlandoo Hunter RCs and have hundreds of dollars into those builds. Then Furitek offered them fully built for $250 and I feel like that is actually a great deal. The smaller things get the more expensive it can be to manufacture such complex items.
Absolutely, yes. It's an epic deal at his early bird pricing but for something boutique like this? Yeah, $250 is still within bounds of reason, I agree totally.
You mentioned if any has questions… Me personally I am wary of using kickstarters as I have been burned in the past as I have backed kickstarters and never got my item that I backed! So if I put up my 100 and for some reason you don’t ship these will I get a refund?
I can't speak for Jonathan. But he strikes me as the real deal. I've put my money down already. Have been using KS on and off since soon after its inception. Have been burned once or twice myself, yeah. If you're unsure, you could just wait. Some months into 2025 when this is all done, he will probably be selling these on his website, I'd guess. Could always ask him yourself via his socials. See links on the video description. Cheers
Price will show up on the Kickstarter when it launches, which I *think* is on 1 Oct 2024, but that's from memory. In any case, I believe I know the price and it's cheaper than I'd have thought, but I won't put it here in case I'm wrong. I'll leave it up to @NANOTRXRC to reply here or else, simply wait for the KS to launch. PS. Price is covered around 19:40 👍

This looks like it'll be a fun desk machine. I love his idea of it as an alternative to a zen garden. The ultimate in desktop fidget devices 😁
Kinda want to see a stretch goal of a claw for picking up pieces of crumpled paper, or holding a toothpick for PvP jousting 🤔
Signed up for pre sale and backed the kickstarter this morning.
Nice one. I watched it launch and the numbers pumped for hours. Was funded in the first 10 minutes, lol
