Got another one for you. The Dearg-due. From Irish lore she is a beautiful woman whose wicked husband would draw blood from. When she was buried the people in her village couldn't bring themselves to cover her coffin with stones to keep her from rising from the grave. She rises at night and sings to draw people into the cemetery where she drains their blood. The only way to keep her at bay is by placing stones on her grave every day before sunset. But sometimes... The locals forget.

i have some you might like to hear about
Strzyga (Or Striga) a vampire from Slavic folklore (though mainly Polish) it begins as a human baby born with either 2 hearts, or 2 souls, or two sets of teeth(which is usually not noticed by the parents), when they get identified as a Strzyga, they are kicked out of human settlements, and often die, it is said that when they die, their second soul gives them a second life, one where it thirsts for blood and organs of any living thing, in some tales it can even transform into an owl to move around, and then swoops down to hunt it's victims. it is said to usually be female.
Pontianak (Or Kuntilanak) is a vampire ghost from Indonesian mythology and folklore, it is said to be a women who died while pregnant or during child birth(the catch is they only become one if they were abused by their husband), they live on top of the branches of trees, they are fast and agile, in their spectral form they glide from tree to tree. they do have a hoel in the back of their necks, which one could put a stake in, this doesn't kill them however, it only subdues them. They take human form and then become the slave to whom they where staked by, often being forced to be a wife, once again.

I've got one. In Nusantara( Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, etc) there's the pontianak or kuntilanak which is the main translation for a "vampire" here. It's a women who died miserably in childbirth and was not given a proper burial, usually due to murder. Now, she stalks the jungles with long hair, sharp nails, a thirst for blood and dreadful vengeance. Also she can transform into a beautiful women where her white serene dress contrasts with her long black flowing hair entices her prey, usually men. Another similar monster would be the Langsuir where it's basically the same though i couldn't find much difference between them. Fun fact, there's an entire city and former sultanate named Pontianak which yes, literally means "vampire" city. I have no idea why.

04:01 The man in the story is King Vikram and the ghost/ vampire is betal or also pronounced vetal. Netflix made a series about Betal recently its excellent its horror and no scene is contains daylight, its all pitch black. So anyway the king gets told by a pandit (priest) that if he captures that neighbouring demon/ ghost/ vampire he will bring prosperity to his kingdom so he sets out and tries to capture it but the conditions the ghost has are that the king must listen to his stories as he sits on his shoulder and answer questions he asks, but if he talks the ghost will cut off his head, and if he is unable to answer teh ghost will fly back to the tree. So the king always gets asked questions based on the ghost's stories and he cannot talk or he will get his head cut off and since hes not talking the ghost flies back to the tree.

Got another one for you. Vietnamese vampires live in the northern mountainous villages. This vampire has a humanoid form, they are only really strong at night. It can then turn into a bat or a wolf (I don't know why either). When hungry for blood, this creature will find healthy people and often stalk, hide, suddenly rush to bite the neck, and then suck the blood of its prey. It is said that this vampire also has the ability to hypnotize, seduce victims and suck their blood. For the Thai people in the early 20th century, vampires existed and were a terror to the whole village. When night falls, they go under the house to eat pig manure, drink rice water (the water obtained when washing rice), and stick out their red tongues across their chest to scare people to death. In addition, according to rumors, this creature's transformation is extremely unpredictable, sometimes they appear in their original form, sometimes they turn into a bat. It even shrunk its legs, putting it in its nostrils to roll like a hedgehog. That's why the nose of this creature is much bigger and more sensitive than normal people. This species is a ghost, so it never dies because they never live. Each time they enter a person is considered a molting. Molting enough 7 times, it will grow a horn, until there are 9 horns on its head, it will thành tinh (turning into a very dangerous demon). At that time, anyone who saw this creature would surely die.

Hey it was a really good video but there is a thing. In South India there are supernatural beings called yakshis who are beautiful women who live in top of palm trees. They seduce a men who cross their woods at night and drinks his blood. It is also said that if the man satisfy their needs they will let them live as their slaves. It is also said that black magicians can call them . Some famous yakshis are kalliyumkaattu neeli ( neeli of kalliyumkaadu) and vadayakshi ( a yakshi with long hairs like ropes ) Fun fact : we believe they are demigods and we worship them in our temples. When we lose anything it is said that if we pray to the yakshas we will get it back but we should offer them something else as the price.
P.S. vetal is not really a vampire. It's more like a wraith

Yes you're right about our country's version of a vampire, the manananggal. In addition, there are other breed of vampires other than that. We have the bangkilan, a vampire who can transform his/her appearance to a child/a teenage/an adult/ an elderly depending on his/her true age which means that if he's/she's an adult then he/she can transform into his/her adult version or teenage version but not his/her elderly version because he/she didn't reach senile age yet. This vampire is also capable of using black magic.
And the other breed of vampire is the danag who is just like the classic version of a vampire but the unique feature that this vampire has is his/her immunity from sunlight.

A vampire called Lord Ruthven in John William Polidori's novel "The Vampyre" in 1819. Haven't read any of those neither Dracula. Really should though.

I also found this idea that is more of an unconfirmed conspiracy or not written anywhere but he said that people find human like things creepy or unsettling like robots or manicains why is it that we find something human like that we know is not human innately creepy maybe because something a long time ago used to hunt us that was human in only aperence ehh it's something to think about

    • @TheMythologyGuy1

Yeah it is an interesting thing to think about. (Long comment warning)
Ohhh yes , the classic story of Vikram and Vetal. Nice story, would definitely recommend it.
Actually Vetal didn't distracted the King Vikram with stories to avoid capture, it goes something like this.
An evil tantrik ( the one who practises various rituals involving paranormal and dead stuff) asked King Vikram to catch Vetal and bring it to him so he would use him to help his kingdom, when in reality he just wanted to kill Vikram and take everything from him, and the vetal would give him supernatural powers if he used him in his rituals (forcefully of course). Vikram agrees and goes to catch Vetal in the night of an eclipse in a Shamshan (where we burn the dead bodies of people, it's like a cemetery). There he found Vetal's corpse hanging from a tree, the moment Vikram put down the corpse and put it on his shoulder it began to speak , after hearing why Vikram is here Vetal kind of made a deal with him. He said that he is willing to go with Vikram but he can't speak a word in this whole journey, If he does Vetal will return to the tree, and also Vetal will tell him various stories and in the end will ask Vikram a question about the story. If Vikram remains silent even after knowing the answer, his head will explode into pieces. As you expected Vetal tells a story, asks question, Vikram answers and Vetal flees. Vetal told total 25 stories to Vikram untill this cycle ended, and the questions were kind of a test of Vikram's intelligence and sense of judgement, both of which a mighty king should have.
Vetal knew from the beginning that the tantrik was tricking Vikram and his life is in danger, He thought that after escaping many times from him Vikram will give up but King Vikram was a man of his words. So in the end with the guidance of Vetal Vikram killed the Tantrik , How??
    Read it yourself.
