Here’s an idea for a Mythology short: a brief summary of the “Thirteen Treasures of the Island of Britain”
Just a quick thought on death and butterflies, I think the association is that butterflies start out as wormlike caterpillars, go into a dormant state, and then are reborn as a winged creature, much as some people see the the soul as earthbound during life and then being freed to take flight after death.
Interesting theory. Could also be because butterflies feed on the blood of dead bodies. Some other carrion feeders - like vultures, crows and jackals - are also associated with death.
