Looks good Matt. Use whatever technique works for you. Great tutorial. The Dodge is coming out fantastic. Hopefully we will see the car finished soon. Enjoy your week.
Great how to as always, the section method is better than strips. I don't care about waste when you can do 8 -10 models from a sheet. I don't remember chrome down the A pillar sometimes box art is just that for looks. Looking great!!
Dear Matthew Dodge 330 is the base model, have 440 and Polara. The 880 was the top of the line. You do a great job with everything you do. Keep up with your good work.
Here is a tip, look up pictures of the car you're building on the internet. While the foiled window frames on the doors look good, they weren't chromed on any of the pictures of the real cars if found. It is looking good, thanks for sharing.
I turn 48 tomorrow, and I agree with you about wearing magnifiers. In the last three years there is a huge difference in my vision. My doctor told me the more I used them the more I would need to use them. Which is awful for someone who had 20/10 vision until age 45. Doc says I am still 20/15 but up close i cant see a thing. And I fight with doing BMF because of it, and I too am better with BMF then trying to paint the trim. Old age has begun to creep in i guess.
I have an ink tip for an old school draftig set i used to use to do my trim years ago. I cant imagine making a fine drawing using a pen you dip in ink though. It did good for silver paint though. A fine tip sharpie does good for black rubber trim. You have to have teenage hands and eyes though! Nice job on the foil. It would have foiled me though....LOL! Cheers Terry
Hey man thanks for a real video. You gave it a great shot! Learned a lot. My meaning of real is you were honest and clear as to what you were doing. I imagine some people have this down pat, but I ain't one of them. LOL
I always do strips on window frames. Just look at the real car, they are separate parts. I also use the body for a little bracing to keep from hand shaking. Good video.
I don't know how you can apply BMF and film it! Kudos to you!! It is such a tedious process (at least for me)! I first apply a clear coat before I apply any BMF....that seems to greatly lessen the likelihood of (me) cutting through the paint color. I also apply it in strips and I try to mimic the manner it's attached to the 1 to 1. When working on quarter windows, I found it much 'cleaner' to just omit the BMF on the rear quarter window stanchion and paint it with Molotow. You need to check out Lasisk. I had it done way back in the late 90s. It was well worth the cost! Side note: My doctor's daily driver was a red with white interior '69 convertible Roadrunner.
Happy to see you demonstrating technique again. You do such good work. I’ve made a mess on some brightwork and on rare occasion it comes out good. It is a learned skill. Thank you Matt.
That looks really good! If you can ,it would be helpful to do a video on how to do all the hose lines and fittings on your 3D printed 572 twin turbo or some of the drag engines.
I've used bare metal foil once. It turned out OK. Then I tripped over my own two feet, and went to catch and myself. My hand landed on the body I just finished painting and bare metal foiling.
Get a set of optivisors No.3 or 4, the cheaper ones lens are made of plastic whereby the optivisors are glass and provide greater clarity. No. 3 are designed to be in focus at around 18 inches from what your working on, whereby NO. 4 are for say 12 inches NO. 5 are say 6 inches so it's based on how far your are away from your project your working on which number you select, they have some at harbor freight that are of lesser quality but will work for around 15 dollars whereby optivisors are 40 plus dollars but are more comfortable and greater quality...
Ya know, when I apply BMF (or as I like to call it- , putting lipstick on a pig) I subconsciously hold my breath, after a rather long session ( and the paramedics have left after reviving me) I say " never again ", but it looks so d*** good! ( must be what women go through with childbirth)!
I don't understand why ANYBODY would order anything from Amazon anymore. People need to go back to shopping local. Amazon will ship you a kit order, and they put the kit in a plastic bag to hopefully make the trip. Of course, most times it gets crushed.
Man!! You must have nerves of steel Matthew? It is hard enough to use that BM foil let alone film it?? Nice work my friend, I tip my hat!!
Mathew, I think most of us enjoy watching video showing kit building skills. It's not boring.
Thanks Ray!

It's Fun to watch you putting on the foil, seeing the same issues we all have, looking for something we might be missing. Thanks!
Thanks!
Man, that color is b-u-tiful!!
Thanks!

Thanks Sindre!
Excellent work, you make it look very easy, whereas for me, I make it look hard!
😁

Thanks for sharing Matthew. The trick with the sharpie and the xacto blade was new to me. 👍👍
👍🏻👍🏻

Nice 😎...... still haven't done that yet 😁
Thanks I never do it I just paint them I try it your way looks way easier than the other 2 guys
👍🏻👍🏻
I’m a one piece for windows too. I try to save the cut out centers, but the results are far better
👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for the tutorial. No matter how many of these BMF videos I watch, I end up learning something from each one.
👍🏻👍🏻
Just so you know there's crome side trim and the door handles and locks and lettering . Just thought I'd make your day for ya .😊

Lol you crack me up! Great tutorial, its gonna be a sharp build!
Thanks!

Thanks Dave!

👍🏻👍🏻 My optometrist said that I didn't qualify to get surgery. Guess I have to be blind to get it.
@@modelcarvideos5829 Wow...That's really odd. I would have to get a 2nd opinion.
Man you made that look so good I think I am ready to try doing it. I know it will take a lot of practical but I think it’s worth it.
Wow very nice you are way more patient then I am

Great vid!! 🤜🤛
Thanks Tim!
Great job, Matthew! I enjoy watching tutorials
I use a surgical scalpel which you hardly need any pressure on it at all to cut the foil.
I'll have to get one! Thanks
I can’t do that. My hands shake. I’ll stay with paint maker,or the sharpie. And tapping it off. Thank you for the video, love the info.
Thanks Dale!
Gonna look killer in that color! Love it!
It came out great! I gotta try using it! 👍
Hay ! Mathew nice job! My eye's are 69 years old , the trim work on my cars , are a nightmare, any tips are welcome from all you younger dudes.
Thanks Mitch!

Thanks for sharing. Go work on the evil BMF
Thanks Samuel!
So did I understand that right? You clear the whole body OVER the BMF? No clear coat before?
At what point do you add the decals?
Beautiful work. Im scared to bare metal foil. Im worried of digging into the body
?????What type magnifier do you use ??????? Thx...
I don't know the brand but it's one that wears like a hat.
I think I'll stick with my silver sharpie
😁
