Listen! Do not stop, it seems your academy was a smaller department, Go to bigger departments, even if you have to move to Austin, Houston or Dallas. Don’t give up on your dream… if the police is what you really want, then go for it cos trust and believe, there’s no other job you can be happy doing, no matter how cool or how much that job pays… if it’s not the police, it’s not it. When you say “eating shit” that’s a negative way of looking at it. Look at it this way instead, someone does something you deem unfair, disrespectful, rude or unjust, ignore it! Life is funny in that in the future you may get the opportunity to humble that person or have a teachable educational moment but you gotta get there first. As a soldier you know not every battle needs to be fought some things resolve themselves in time. I’m sure there’s another opportunity out there for you that was meant for you brother!
there's got to be more to this story. the fact that you was in the Army, did you confront your DI's when you didn't agree with them? This is all a mind game to see how you handle yourself. like you said yourself, you have to de-esculate the situation. by you confronting the staff member and going tit for tat, you sealed your fate.
@@gabelab7252 I am. Its the best way to get into civilian law enforcement without having a college degree or anything like that. Plus I want the shorter academy Lmao
Big departments such as the NYPD, LAPD, etc, would take you in at a heartbeat. Understaffed with rising crime, if you're willing to move to cities such as those in an attempt to achieve your goal.
@@gabelab7252 Remember, the academy is meant to push you to your breaking point. They need for you to reach your breaking point, so you can grow beyond your breaking point. But if you don't know this. Forget it's just a game. Forget it's just a test Then over react. You will always lose out. Learning how to control your emotion is critical to Law Enforcement. I would not be surprised if your situation was planned to test you. You clearly failed the test. And if it was a test, it would have shown how valuable of an asset you could be. Very few cadet need to be tested in this manner. In my experience, very few cadet have breaking point that require methodical measure to reach or for instructors to see. FYI, the idea is for the staff and you to recognize your breaking point. Grow past your current breaking point. Then, learn how not to allow yourself to reach your new breaking point when on the streets, in public or on the job. GET IT! You will be done this way in any basic Law Enforcement training.
It’s not that you should’ve kept it to yourself it’s how you engaged with the staff members that may have been the problem, you should’ve spoke to someone else about the incident like an instructor, but yes just keeping it to yourself would also have obviously helped
With your military background, have you ever thought about state or even game warden? My neighbor suggested i go to there instead of looking into city due to the pay and the stuff you deal with.
There are so many departments suffering from staffing shortages, I think you'll have a good chance landing another job, especially having a military background. However, you might want to relocate or find a job in a different part of Texas. But you have to remember one thing..... when you're in the academy, there is no back-talking. You have to eat all the shit that comes your way, even if you disagree with it. Other than that, good luck 👍🏾

Doesn’t mean it’s over for you. As an academy instructor hear me out if you’re interested in seeing your dream come true. “ cops” eating shit isn’t the issue here….you are a trainee or cadet and realizing your place for the duration of the program is key. In other words arguing or getting mad cause you thought a staff member disrespected you is a lack of bearing of who you are as a trainee. Different academies have a variety of discipline standards but grabbing wall at attention and shouting sir, ma’am, good morning sir, ma’am etc is standard for many cadets when any staff or employees are anywhere near them. if you’re triggered by “ disrespect” you might want to examine yourself if this is the career for you because it will happen at some level often throughout your career. I took the time to respond because if it’s what you want to do it would be a shame to let one set back like that stop you. You seem like a smart young man who has potential… Learn from it and get back on the grinder.
Right on. Cops demand respect, but no one is obligated to respect you, nor should they. No one owes you respect. Citizens can disrespect you all they want. Too bad.
The sense of entitlement, lack of humility , lack of work ethic and dedication, selfishness is the main problem infecting your generation. I wish you nothing but the best in life but stop blaming others for your actions
Keep ya head up brodie, hate that happened to you fr but you def seem like youll bounce back and go further than ever before💪🏽you ever thought about going back into the army and become an MP?
I appreciate it, I sent my application to several other police departments but my record says ineligible for rehire so I’m sorta screwed for life unfortunately
Move to a southern state where they don’t hire woman for anything but operators. I guarantee you wouldn’t have been fired for that. Neither would the situation have started as women like to start issues. Sad a department would let go of a Physically fit man for a woman who could do 1/2 the work
People get fired for good reason. Most because they are not performing in a satisfactory manner. This may include but not limited to; disrespectful conduct towards cadre or fellow cadets, stealing, failed drug tests, cheating, sexual harassment, etc. Remember, there are three sides to the truth. The academy side, the cadet side, and the truth that is really spoken.
You are brave for sharing your experience. I don’t think they were unjustified in firing you BUT you appear to have learned from the situation. Controlling our ego and tempers is important in any job but it’s absolutely crucial in law enforcement. It can mean the difference between a massive law suit and no law suit against the department.
It just wasn’t meant for you and a couple years down the road you’ll see that. No one can take away your experiences and they’ll always help you grow! Onward and Upward! Proud of you and looking forward to following the journey
@@gabelab7252 It is a very honorable profession, just be careful of who you let become your friend. You can do this. keep trying, and even if you fail, try some more.
dont give up! or maybe go do something else! Think of this as a way to find something else and if you still feel like being a cop is your passion, go do it! You can always be a cop. You can do find jobs that could even help you be a better cop. Dont give uo if this is your dream.
I think you accepted that too easily. I wish you would have spoken to a lawyer before thinking that you were in the wrong. It sounds to me like this staff member may have targeted you. Nevertheless, best of luck to you.
If you were a problem while in training and essentially on probation, how much more of problem would you be to the department if you made it past the probation period and were hired? They weren’t willing to find that out and nipped it in the bud as they should have. Some people just aren’t cut out for that type of work. You mention your dream job is to become a lawyer, go for it because you have to be happy in the career you choose.
As a current state trooper brother i think its honestly unnecessary for you to be terminated from the academy ESPECIALLY being so close to graduating you should definitely grieve it brother definitely try for a state or sheriff's department police departments are usually hard to work with even on active crime scenes they believe they own them even tho they are out of there jurisdiction
You don't have to answer but, what did they give you on your F-5? If you are passionate about getting on the streets put yourself in the academy, that is what I did. I am also in Texas, originally from the Houston area but now in the El Paso area. If you would like some advice just reach out.
Chain of command. You should’ve known better. Tell your immediate supervisor and let them deal with it. Or lose the ego, suck it up and keep it to yourself. This is simple grown up adult stuff. Your pd did the right thing.
Hmm.. sounds to me you deserved to get fired. I think the thing to remember even if you think the situation was not right is “Is this the hill I want to die on?” And it sounds like this is what you learned. I wish you only the best.
God has better for you! When I was in the academy I remember a experience that had me hot I was the number 1 person physically in my academy I had lapped a few people in the gym during an exercise and a instructor who just got in who obviously was not there earlier because he would understood I lapped the class and was in first place not last. Because of who I was he believed I was taking a day off being last that I was not pushing myself and instantly got all over me. All the other instructors were laughing cause they knew I was in first place but this guy did me dirty and when I could eat take it anymore another instructor came over to me and told me don’t say shit just take it. It could have ended bad I could have hurt him but the lesson is keep your cool and composure at all times because you just never know what this training is getting you ready for in real life! Best of police to you and know God will open more doors for you! Don’t give up!
The thing I’m surprised about is you were prior army. You know as well as I that the police department is a piece of cake compared to all the bullshit you went through in the army. I was in the Marines and I went through the Baltimore City Police Academy. I think you probably had a little attitude problem. Don’t give up. You know you can still apply at other police acacademis State, County, or city. There are many offers available.
OF course it was your skin color matched with standing up for yourself. Starting a business is whats up. I was fired at 18 years old when a so called racist supervisor told me to"Make Me some coffee boy." I told him that if I did he would never drink it. He fired me and I decreed that I would never work a job again. That was 51 years ago. 6 business and over 100 properties later! You are great speaker, personable, etc. AIM HIGHER!
Big cities suck. Crime is crazy high, pay isn’t any better than smaller departments, cost of living is higher. Best jobs in LE is being in smaller towns with good/great pay.

You a solid guy bro, you inspired me to stay strong through any trials and tribulation and I’m sure you’ll inspire more people man ! Thank you for this 💪🏽🙏🏽and I love how you would jam before going into class 🤣 we kinda like the same person , KU LO SA!!!! Yessahhh😎😎😎🤣🙌🏽

Lol I wish it was just click bait…thanks tho I appreciate it
Never outshine the master.
Thanks man, eating shit was a term my previous supervisor had told me that’s why I used that term
there's got to be more to this story. the fact that you was in the Army, did you confront your DI's when you didn't agree with them? This is all a mind game to see how you handle yourself. like you said yourself, you have to de-esculate the situation. by you confronting the staff member and going tit for tat, you sealed your fate.
If you do Military Police through either the army or a national guard most states have programs to either skip or have a easier/shorter police academy
I am not becoming an MP😂
@@gabelab7252 I am. Its the best way to get into civilian law enforcement without having a college degree or anything like that. Plus I want the shorter academy Lmao
Thank you for this video man!
Glad it was helpful!
Big departments such as the NYPD, LAPD, etc, would take you in at a heartbeat. Understaffed with rising crime, if you're willing to move to cities such as those in an attempt to achieve your goal.
I hear that, starting afresh somewhere new don’t hurt
@@gabelab7252 just go to Dallas PD - they’ll accept anyone these days 😅
True, going through the lapd hiring process it's not bad . I feel like I would probably get fired for being a smart ass . There's alot of departments.
It's called hazing. It is part of training. Yes, you have to eat the bullshit. It's no different than military bootcamp.
Gotta eat it man
@@gabelab7252 Remember, the academy is meant to push you to your breaking point.
Very true, sometimes experience is just the best teacher and this taught me a lot for sure
Keep doing whatever you love
With your military background, have you ever thought about state or even game warden? My neighbor suggested i go to there instead of looking into city due to the pay and the stuff you deal with.
Never thought abt being a warden but I have thought of being a jailor, that ship has sailed tho
Those who continue to blindly support the "thin blue line gang" in 2024 demonstrate a significant lack of awareness regarding the current realities of law enforcement in this country.

By watching their videos, you will gain a deeper understanding of the realities facing law enforcement today. This will inform you about the factors contributing to the perception that being a police officer is no longer a noble profession.

Thank you very much, i plan on getting back into it soon as i get the opportunity. Everything you’ve said was right, thanks for the advice
Right on. Cops demand respect, but no one is obligated to respect you, nor should they. No one owes you respect. Citizens can disrespect you all they want. Too bad.
Let this be a lesson the police academy is very serious about your discipline and training.
It's ok man
Yea, when you’re on probation you’re not allowed to act like an idiot.
It’s funny you come here and call me an idiot and you’re supposed to be better than me???
👍🏼
The sense of entitlement, lack of humility , lack of work ethic and dedication, selfishness is the main problem infecting your generation. I wish you nothing but the best in life but stop blaming others for your actions
@@dserafin4663 ☝🏼
Wow sorry to hear that bro, a month left😢, that staff will be gone soon
Lol 😂, everything happens for a reason..focused on the future
Keep ya head up brodie, hate that happened to you fr but you def seem like youll bounce back and go further than ever before💪🏽you ever thought about going back into the army and become an MP?
Lol hell naw…no MP for me man 😂, but I feel you on the bouncing back part …thank you
Apply to Fort Worth Police Department bro. You still have time, application closes February 28th. Temple is under 2 hrs away.
I appreciate it, I sent my application to several other police departments but my record says ineligible for rehire so I’m sorta screwed for life unfortunately
@@gabelab7252your ineligible just because of one incident?
I agree with you on the lawsuit part for sure and them not being unjustified.
Cough cough fire department, a new door is open. cough cough
It just wasn’t meant for you and a couple years down the road you’ll see that. No one can take away your experiences and they’ll always help you grow!
Onward and Upward! Proud of you and looking forward to following the journey
Thanks Preciate that….yea the experience isn’t leaving anytime soon, thanks for that
I admire your humility even though I believe you shouldn’t haven’t been fired.
Thanks learnt a lot during this process and I’m sure the department had were just doing what they thought right
Coming from a small dept. I see alot of corruption.
If youre someone who has morals and standards,
they did you a favor, Thats why I quit.
I have been hearing a lot of that, still don’t regret trying tho..honorable profession for me
@@gabelab7252 It is a very honorable profession, just be careful of who you let become your friend. You can do this. keep trying, and even if you fail, try some more.
as a future sheriff recruit this is scary. also, what are you doing rn? hope everything is going wel!!!
dont give up! or maybe go do something else! Think of this as a way to find something else and if you still feel like being a cop is your passion, go do it! You can always be a cop. You can do find jobs that could even help you be a better cop. Dont give uo if this is your dream.
Yessir thanks …i wont
I think you accepted that too easily. I wish you would have spoken to a lawyer before thinking that you were in the wrong. It sounds to me like this staff member may have targeted you. Nevertheless, best of luck to you.
go to the fire academy if serving is your goal just as honorable and respectable
Yea I thought abt it as well…I can do it, it’s just not something I see myself going into just yet
God bless stay safe God loves y’all all I hope everyone has a blessed day and great day ✝️🙏✝️🙏
And you as well
Bro… in BCT did you get crazy with your Drill Sergeants? This should have been easy.
I did not argue with a superior
If you were a problem while in training and essentially on probation, how much more of problem would you be to the department if you made it past the probation period and were hired? They weren’t willing to find that out and nipped it in the bud as they should have. Some people just aren’t cut out for that type of work. You mention your dream job is to become a lawyer, go for it because you have to be happy in the career you choose.
👍🏿 👍🏿
They need you more than you need them. Many bad cops slip through the cracks : just wasn't meant to be ✌🏿
Just wasn’t meant to be, will give it another shot and see where it leads
Plenty of departments out there so just because it doesn't work out with one doesn't mean you can't apply elsewhere.
If you are looking for a job, we’re hiring at Williamson County
Hell yea Wilco 🤟🏿…but like the other departments I tried for I can’t get rehired coz my record says ineligible for rehire
Come to Polk county Florida.
Politics bro, that's exactly what it is. I'm so sorry
No one wants a liability on their team
As a current state trooper brother i think its honestly unnecessary for you to be terminated from the academy ESPECIALLY being so close to graduating you should definitely grieve it brother definitely try for a state or sheriff's department police departments are usually hard to work with even on active crime scenes they believe they own them even tho they are out of there jurisdiction
Well I appreciate that, I just wish my previous department and other departments feel that way….but failure only happens when you stop trying
@@gabelab7252 exactly brotha it happens to the best of us
You don't have to answer but, what did they give you on your F-5? If you are passionate about getting on the streets put yourself in the academy, that is what I did. I am also in Texas, originally from the Houston area but now in the El Paso area. If you would like some advice just reach out.
Chain of command. You should’ve known better. Tell your immediate supervisor and let them deal with it. Or lose the ego, suck it up and keep it to yourself. This is simple grown up adult stuff. Your pd did the right thing.
All personnel are to be respected.
Hmm.. sounds to me you deserved to get fired. I think the thing to remember even if you think the situation was not right is “Is this the hill I want to die on?” And it sounds like this is what you learned. I wish you only the best.
Thanks good quote….not the hill I wanna die on so just move on
man just go in for another academy dont let this stop u bro
It won’t I appreciate it
It’s paramilitary, so yes you’re going to get yelled at. What did you do when your parents yelled at you?
At least you have experience now
Yep
Yessir
Your a RUclipsr.. didn't take it seriously , despite the altercation.
Okay
So do you have to restart everything now???
Yep gotta restart everything, but that’s fine because i know what to expect now, should be easier now
Bro I’m also failed police academy drive test
Best think that happened to you!!
Why would you argue, it’s like going to a job for the first time, you try to avoid anything the first 3 month lol
Well luckily I was in more than three months but I get it, the point being just avoid trouble
To the point👍
The thing I’m surprised about is you were prior army. You know as well as I that the police department is a piece of cake compared to all the bullshit you went through in the army. I was in the Marines and I went through the Baltimore City Police Academy. I think you probably had a little attitude problem. Don’t give up. You know you can still apply at other police acacademis State, County, or city. There are many offers available.
Definitely will give it another shot, if granted the opportunity
My man for 6 months of your life it’s simple. Sir yes sir ma’am yes ma’am. THATS IT
Never get emotional in the workplace. If you have a greavance document it and go through the proper channels.
You know he was stealing or harassing people, that's why he was a "person of interest' at the gym
??
OF course it was your skin color matched with standing up for yourself. Starting a business is whats up. I was fired at 18 years old when a so called racist supervisor told me to"Make Me some coffee boy." I told him that if I did he would never drink it. He fired me and I decreed that I would never work a job again. That was 51 years ago. 6 business and over 100 properties later!
You are great speaker, personable, etc. AIM HIGHER!
You're still a 'boi'. No amount of money will change your skin color. Obey your Masa.
How old are you bro? Unfortunate what happened but life goes on.
Life goes on for sure, just turned 28 still got some time
30yr Police veteran...Bro, you ain't missing anything, but Police departments in big cities are hurting for help. Start applying to big cities.
Big cities suck. Crime is crazy high, pay isn’t any better than smaller departments, cost of living is higher. Best jobs in LE is being in smaller towns with good/great pay.
You can become an armed security guard.
Some of those jobs wanted prior police experience but I’m not looking for a job anymore tho, I appreciate it
new sub here by the way
Thank you
Law enforcement is a paramilitary organization. You argue with superiors and they fire you.
Got it but I did not argue with a superior
