Neil , I start my first CAPs Saturday but I have not worked out in forever I’m 5’11 220lbs… you think I’ll do okay? Or should I cancel and build endurance ??
You only really see the cops that do the bad things.. Don't let those videos affect the way you look at the police as a whole. 99.999% of them do amazing work, and I've had multiple great experiences with the police as well
Took the pfq recently and didn’t do so well. I thought me working out daily would help but maybe I need to push myself more. Going to try and run the mile and half every day and see if that helps. Any tips for getting better at running and push-ups would be greatly appreciated. Have to take the pfq next month.
Doing push-ups daily will help. At least 100. I’ve struggled with the running, but gotten better by doing this. Sprint 100 m, walk 100m, sprint 200m, walk 200 m, sprint 300m walk 300, sprint 400, walk 400.
The first time I took the PFQ I scored very low. I was only able to do 11 push ups without getting extremely tired. After doing push ups every day and slowly increasing the reps I am now able to do 45 push ups without stopping.
I have the test coming up on December 6th so I’m hoping to be good and ready and pass.. I’ve been trying to work on my upper body strength so I can do push-ups so everyday I’ve been doing them it’s so hard but the running portion I get tired so fast so still working on it but I hope I pass I need to get in asap already
@neilwarren2010 thanks. I have started the hiring process with lapd, but unfortunately, I am currently overweight, and I need to get in shape before starting the academy. I'm 35 years old, 6'1 Do you think 220 lbs would be a good weight to go to the academy? ( im currently weighing 240lbs) :(

I would just start now and do what you can 👍🏼
@@neilwarren2010 I’m going to start after work today , are they really strict at caps ?
Just start. They aren’t very strict. Just come to get a workout in and have a good time.
I want to go to caltech but I think that that police academy and a year or 2 in the police department would be a good start to my new life in the USA
@jcorb but you can be a cop and make a change, not all the police are bad yknow

Good Teaching.
Was this filmed with 2 separate groups? Can we get an unedited version(if it exists) of each group?
I can't do push ups, I have started training and getting in to shape but would that be a problem?
Just keep working on them. We can you help you get better when you get to the academy.
Start with 1 or 2 pushups no more for start
Go on your knees to begin with.

I'm assuming you are a female. By your last name I also assume you are Hispanic? Don't worry about the push-ups, you will definitely be hired

Of course! It will definitely make your time at the academy much easier!
