Im getting older and the side effects from squats the days after isn't worth it. Your legs will thank you by over loading with split squats, leg press and overloading on leg extentions. A lot of people ego lift on the squats.

I feel you ain’t gotta do squats but if your body and mobility can then do so! I still squat but I rely more on machines due to safety reason and easy on my knees as I like to go heavy!
@@AccentBwoy Well for one, there is a huge hormone response. It naturally raises testosterone and growth hormone. There’s lots of carryover to the upper body. I’ve found my general upper body strength go up by building out my legs. Being that squatting is a natural movement, functionally you are reducing the risk of injury on your lower body, assuming you are using a weight that you can handle. Increased hip and ankle mobility. Improved core strength. Lastly, you want your body to be balanced. Strong upper body muscles combined with weak legs can create uneven forces on your joints and potentially contribute to postural issues.
I always do Romanian deadlifts after squats from a low rack position or off blocks. I see no reason to do RDLs off the floor. So I would have to do those everyday too.

It’s the wrist for me, when you have more weight on the bar how do you adjust your wrists in order to make sure the weight isn’t sitting on them, if you don’t have giant shoulders

As humans, we are meant to squat, we all did it when we were babies/toddlers. We partially squat to use the toilet. It. is best start off to master the air squat/body squat, . There are barbell front squat, barbell back squat and a much more advance overhead squat. Yes you can do dumbbell squats:)

I have very bad knees. Done with squats. I do leg press, leg extensions, and plyometrics.
I dont fool with squats either. Maybe body weight or dumbell but that's occasionally. I'm 44 and never had surgeries. I've been lifting since the 90s.

I stand at a neutral stance… Feet slightly wider than hips, toes forward. Hands, you put wherever is comfortable
The more narrow your hands, the more of a shelf you’ll have on your back for the bar.
