Good advice, fam. I typically squat at least twice weekly. In my gym not many ppl mess with it. IT IS THE MOST IMTIMIDATING of all the lifts. But like you said, if you're afraid of it, then you've got to attack it. Good stuff. 👍🏾
King, the knee piece just changed the game for me, I was going straight down 8:32 versus shooting then outward. I find my knee would hurt going straight down! You’re a genius Mike! Thank You ✊🏾
Hey Mike, I just want to say THANK YOU! For all that you do. About 3yrs back I watch a video you had SQUAT EVERY DAY! And I used your philosophy to build and increase my squat. There was a day and time where 225lbs was heavy AF! Not after a warm up of 155lbs for 40reps and 4working sets of 315lbs for 8reps is where I am at today I am doing 225lbs for 20reps. Light AF! Thanks to you. I just started at 225lbs each day for 4 sets of 3reps and every week I will increase by 2 reps once it becomes easy. Sometimes it may take 2 or 3 weeks before I increase. Today I am at 315lbs for 4 set of 8reps ass to grass. Had a set back during covid and lost 18 lbs majority of muscle because my body fat is very low, around 9 10% so I had to start all over again using your philosophy. Just want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH MAN!
Great Advice brother. Sometimes i feel scared when squatting cause of fear of injury but watching this has lifted that burden off of me. Gonna start implementing everything you said. Thank you once again
One of the best fitness youtubers to ever do it iam giving him my appreciation cause us as humans we should be thankful for alot of things and thankful for people that give us motivation in life so thank you Mike and blessings 🙌 to you i appreciate you
I'd like to see more discussion on the "big breath"..could be some confusion there. It's not a chest breath but a breath into the belly filling it with air making it nice and hard; bracing the core and stabilizing the spine. And if a belt is present, pressing the stomach into the belt for more stabilization. Great video! Sending this to my clients. Loveit
If I see someone throwing all the 45s in the gym on the leg press but I didn’t see them squat at all I go OUT MY WAY to ensure I revoke as many 45s from that machine as I can. I’ll keep asking for a plates til they gotta settle on lesser weight. All Gas. No Brakes.
Video couldn’t have come at a better time. I’ve always avoided barbell squats because of my lower back issues. Now that I’ve worked my back up, I’m interested in trying squats again. Literally spoke with one of my PT boys today about it to assess my form lol
I also hurt my lower back last year I'm healed up now I started front squatting I'm just afraid of putting that weight on my back so I get it u might want to try front squatting it hits everything the same just have to balance the bar with your shoulders something to get use to peace!
Thanks, big bro I do a lot of leg presses but I have been working on adding squats to my workout it was the bar that scared me because of neck injuries but looking at this video helps me a lot 💯
Just listening to you explain the bar and everything I found out what my weakness is it's not my knees it's my hips..I never would have focused on that..Good video..I squatted 50 on the smith but I squatted the Bar not easy but is addictive once you feel it
Every since I blew out my angle for 1 year, I haven't squatted since. (That was 10 years ago when I did squats with slides on. Not sure what I was thinking.) I now do squats when you sit down and push with your legs...Cool video.
I have always felt like squatting was that most hated exercise to do being very timid of it, however I’ve always been in life active in the gym seldomly doing them. I have been feeling the pressure especially getting older that I want to be @ a healthy aesthetic physique incorporating at least 10 body squats after every other set and now I’m jump squatting more with explosiveness through the roof. I am also feeling a more of balance as I go for my walks now. This video came & a perfect time cause it actually is a sign and I’ve felt better than I have in my younger years active in the gym and it’s actually more addictive especially the results it produces so like always Cousin Mike I appreciate your content. Would you be so kind to do a video on home calf workouts? I don’t go to the gym considering I have my own equipment i normally use body weight or hold the dumbbells, whatever content would be appreciated…pardon the paragraph God
Always go to Mike for squats and bench press tips on how to go for it. Been watching a lot of bicep tears, any reason why those are most likely to occur and what’s your opinion on the dangerous exercises to avoid.
Hi Mr Rashid it is always a pleasure to watch your videos. I am a big fan of your work out style. I have a question regarding squat. Is there an age limit for squat exercises? Can someone squat heavy after 45yrs old? Thank you. I am Franck
Any idea on why my thighs swell up badly after squats ? I use to be able to hit legs daily now I stay away cause the recovery isn’t normal I know it’s stiff legs and stuff but I feel like my legs shouldn’t be swelling that bad
What shoes do you recommend? I have flat feet and have tried different types of cross-trainers. I've never used Olympic weightlifting shoes for squats, cleans or snatches when I played college football.
Hey big Mike love watching your video and I used to do your workout before I had knee surgery and a heart attack I'm trying to get back where I was at any tips for me
Yooo Mike how u feel about the smith machine when it comes to benching? I use it because I don’t have a spot..I can do 245 on the free bench but when it was time to go to 275 I went to the smith for that reason…and I’m hitting 315 on the smith
Not bad but it's not the most effective way to squat. In 16 months my coach, who wrote the book on Squatting for strength, got my squat from 225 to 585 and I'm not an athlete. I work in I.T. and only workout 3x a week. 😅
I appreciate the feedback there on how to do the proper squat now do you suggest a box behind you so when you lower down, maybe your butt touches the box or do you not suggest ?
The idea of having that weight on top of the spine especially going heavy over time concerns me. Is there any evidence to say squats don’t cause any structural damage to the spine over time?
I’m trying to increase my squat depth, but once I reach a point before parallel, I get a “butt wink” and I am unable to get proper form all throughout the movement. How can I reach proper depth without getting this “butt wink”? Thanks.
This is a most do squat my keys is low rest time 30 seconds to a minute top light weight high reps ten sets this works for me keep my testosterone levels high always stretch for 5 minutes is another 💎
You don’t need to do barbell squats to grow big quads. That is a total misconception! Most ifbb pros I see now a days do most of there leg work on smith machines, the hip sled, leg extensions, Bulgarian split squat’s, hack squats, lunges ect. I could go on for days on how many other alternative exercises there are for growing your wheels! I have nothing against barbell squats, but there are people out there that physically cannot do them because of injuries or postural distortions! If your somebody that can do them I would most def have them in your leg workout routine!
I use weight lifting knee wraps on both knees and the belt squat apparatus. However, I have full knee replacement and can not squat below 20 degree; or just below the the point of sitting. What this means is no butt to the floor squats for you my friend.
Good advice, fam. I typically squat at least twice weekly. In my gym not many ppl mess with it. IT IS THE MOST IMTIMIDATING of all the lifts. But like you said, if you're afraid of it, then you've got to attack it. Good stuff. 👍🏾
That’s the hack!! Just run to it
King, the knee piece just changed the game for me, I was going straight down 8:32 versus shooting then outward. I find my knee would hurt going straight down! You’re a genius Mike! Thank You ✊🏾
Yeah I’ve never thought of using the knee piece…I’m gonna try that

Apparently Mike shows that squats makes your you dig bigger. The ultimate pelvic floor exercise. Thanks big bro!
I got you!
Right on time with this one. I been feeling like I need to add squats to my work out. Thanks again mike!! 🙏🏾
You have to add it!
Great Advice brother. Sometimes i feel scared when squatting cause of fear of injury but watching this has lifted that burden off of me. Gonna start implementing everything you said. Thank you once again
Been following you for years big dawg. You’ve helped me improve in all aspects of my life. I appreciate you brother for real 💪🏾

Notice how his son couldn’t help but smile after watching his pops handle that heavy shit. Made me smile. Respect 🫡

Could do lowbar,it’s more so on you rear delts than your neck
Using the safety bars inside the rack and showing someone how easy it is to bail would also be helpful for a future video.
Great advice Mike and Planta is the bomb 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽 NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE
Love squatting but need your advice on how to deal with the ROMs a couple days after. Thanks Mike!
Thanks, this helps
Great advice Mike and Planta is the bomb 💣 💪🏽
thnx bro! I needed this again! My squats are not the best, so this is again a good learning experience! 💪🏿💯
Excellent depth
Word up! This was very helpful.
Thank you

I use to hate squats but I’ve seen improvements in my strength after incorporating them into my regimen 💪🏾
Good stuff Mike💪🏾💯
Legend Mike
Great video Mike, love your content.
I definitely was the bench press/ curl guy growing up, as I got older I started working on the legs more
Every since I blew out my angle for 1 year, I haven't squatted since. (That was 10 years ago when I did squats with slides on. Not sure what I was thinking.) I now do squats when you sit down and push with your legs...Cool video.

Needed this

Oh man can u do a bench press video like this? it would be awesome .
I found the safety squat bar helps. How do feel about using that bar for squats?
Always go to Mike for squats and bench press tips on how to go for it. Been watching a lot of bicep tears, any reason why those are most likely to occur and what’s your opinion on the dangerous exercises to avoid.

Do a video for people who post op knee surgery
What shoes do you recommend? I have flat feet and have tried different types of cross-trainers. I've never used Olympic weightlifting shoes for squats, cleans or snatches when I played college football.
I felt a lot more confident squatting once I started using a plate on the ground to elevate my heels
Ok...Someone told me that I don't have enough flexibility in my ankles. Said if I elevate my heels a bit, it would help. Good or bad?
Really good advice this Mike so many bullshit videos with squats at the min. What Jordan’s are they soooo good ?
Yesssirrr 🙌🏾💪🏾
I get under that squat bar and grind out those reps. Afterwards i down some Overtraining Solution for recovery !
Peace I was wondering if your recovering from a meniscus tear and acl sprain how long do you wait before you start squat training again?
I'm on a leg destruction journey I need this guide
Hey big Mike love watching your video and I used to do your workout before I had knee surgery and a heart attack I'm trying to get back where I was at any tips for me
Covid back in 2020 I died twice
Great title cause Jah know star
As Always good stuff Mike!! Definitely ready to link up with you on this workout journey!!! 💪🏾🔥 #GymGodTraining
Let’s get it!
Yooo Mike how u feel about the smith machine when it comes to benching? I use it because I don’t have a spot..I can do 245 on the free bench but when it was time to go to 275 I went to the smith for that reason…and I’m hitting 315 on the smith
Literally just squatted for the first time in months today!
Where Can I Buy The Instrumental, @7:10 ?!
ARE DOING SQUATS GOOD FOR BUILDING MENS TESTOSTEROME
Not bad but it's not the most effective way to squat. In 16 months my coach, who wrote the book on Squatting for strength, got my squat from 225 to 585 and I'm not an athlete. I work in I.T. and only workout 3x a week. 😅
Not sure if anyone can help but my right shoulder hurts when I get it in position to squat
I appreciate the feedback there on how to do the proper squat now do you suggest a box behind you so when you lower down, maybe your butt touches the box or do you not suggest ?
No I don’t recommend a box
Good stuff. I do squat but dammit if that anxiety is real. Something about all the weight being over your entire body, unlike dead’s and bench.
Exactly
Lol Unc squatting in a Cuban link and some retro 1s. 🐐
Info is 💯, just subscribe to the channel. 💪🏾
You a fucking beast bro💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

The idea of having that weight on top of the spine especially going heavy over time concerns me. Is there any evidence to say squats don’t cause any structural damage to the spine over time?
It protects the spine. People have back and knee injuries because of being weak
💯💯🐐👑
This is me .. I don’t do them. I started light
I’m trying to increase my squat depth, but once I reach a point before parallel, I get a “butt wink” and I am unable to get proper form all throughout the movement. How can I reach proper depth without getting this “butt wink”? Thanks.
Perfect it with just the bar
Me
Deadlift, Bench , Pullups, Pushups Hack Squats, dumbell lunges is good enough...
I gotta work on my squats. Everytime i train squats they take my legs outta commission for at least two days
I’m not going to front this is real, because I find myself running from squats sometimes which is something I hate to admit to
Run towards it
@@MikeRashidOfficial no doubt bro, I appreciate it
Vlog Olympea
It ain't squats 😭 it's that backbreaking Deadlift I ain't never do it because I don't understand it 😞
I’m not understanding why RUclips is cheating you.
Who tf fears squats? 😂😂😂
Is this the key to success? think of the amount of people with money dont even care about squats or have decent legs, its so unfair lol

More you squat the shorter you become lost 2 inches of height myself
This is a most do squat my keys is low rest time 30 seconds to a minute top light weight high reps ten sets this works for me keep my testosterone levels high always stretch for 5 minutes is another 💎

But im afraid i will fart loud
Dont hate me but i'm not impressed by your quads at all
