  • What exactly are those Russian tips for cake decorating?
    In this video I'll show you what they look like compared to regular piping tips. Then we'll go over how to easily switch colors and piping tips, as well as how to make two-toned flowers.
    I'll also show you how to pipe these frilly leaves!
    In this video I used ateco brand russian piping tips. The white flowers are tip # 243 and the pink/purple flowers are tip # 241.
    The leaves were piped with a #102 petal tip.
    To learn how I color my buttercream you can take my FREE course, Color Like a Pro:

    For these flowers I used my Italian Meringue Buttercream:

      Thank you! If you search "marble buttercream" you should be able to find some videos similar to how I iced this cake, but I haven't made a tutorial for it yet.

      I have never tried but I don't think whipped cream would work very well with the russian tips.

    Is parchment paper help the cream to hard?

    • @BakingButterlyLove
      @BakingButterlyLove  3 года назад

      Yes, you pipe the leaf on the paper, then put the leaf in the refrigerator. When the buttercream is cold it will be hard enough to peel the leaf off the paper and place on the cake with your hands.

      @BakingButterlyLove  3 года назад +1

      No, I believe mascarpone frosting would be too soft to work with Russian tips, sorry!
