I've tried wooting and kb65he and calling the difference "night and day" is a bit much. Sure wooting is superior but we are talking what, 10ms difference? Unless you're a top .01% player that difference in latency is completely irrelevant to gameplay.
yeah, thats what i have in my mind, unless you make your fingers digital that could gives you the data everytime you press the key. just like this channel, he can tell the difference between 0.1ms and 1ms when using wooting
You have a point, but delay is not the thing that makes it stand out. It’s the rapid trigger feature. Many other companies have tried to make it as natural feeling as the wooting but have just failed.
I've been through a few different keyboards until I finally decided to go with the Wooting Two and I literally have not even considered another keyboard. It's just superior in every way to every keyboard I've had or tried
Only honest issue with Wooting 60HE is I have to swap it out for a TKL for work; just need the 80HE or for Wooting just to wise up and give us Wooting TKL.

Hey, bro. I just wanna say thanks. I’ve watched a ton of your content. Just got into PC gaming back in May. Made a few mistakes on hardware purchases, but after discovering your channel, you’ve gotten me on the right track. Final got a DAV3 Pro last week, due to your reviews on it, and I’m never looking back lol. I’ve only had my PC for 4.5 months, but I’ve went through 4 different mice before finding ‘the one’ and I owe ya. Thanks, dawg.
Yeah, after doing research, and quickly going through a couple of keyboards that really weren't that good, I found the Wooting Two HE, and that's the only keyboard (along with Wooting in general) I consider worth a premium price. If you want cheap, get a keyboard that's upwards of $20, but if you want the best, it's only 10x more price, which is quite reasonable for this absurd market, for a keyboard that will last until keyboards as a technology are obsolete. It's the only keyboard I care about at all.
I just installed the Gateron Jade switches (110pcs) last weekend in my otherwise stock Wooting Two HE. They´re lighter and have around 0.5mm less travel, but they sound way better thanks to the closed bottom and they come pre-lubed. They feel like they actuate faster at below 1mm travel, but that might just be the lighter springs that make it feel that way.
there are HE keebs with less latency, SOCD, QMK, everything the wooting has, but far cheaper, not in a shitty plastic case, not lacking gasket mount, and you're not waiting forever to get one at this point (iqunix ez63 for example). stop the glaze. it was good when it came out but its quickly declining
The Endgame, Polar, ATK and many others use the same OEM PCBA, firmware and software does differ though. The ATK68 has all Wooting’s features except for analog/gamepad remapping but I do not have a setup to test and compare its latency. You’re not the target consumer as you want the best of the best, not the best within a budget. What was quite shocking to me is that the build quality of the ATK68 (and from what I’ve seen the Endgame too) is much much better than the 60HE, a far better sound and switches as well. The switches are the KS-37B Dual Rail switches compared to the Lekkers’ Single Rail. They have tighter tolerances and because of their dual rails; less stem wobble. Yes, the 60HE is still better for €189,99 but for €80 cheaper the ATK68 is almost there. I hope to see a thorough latency test of the ATK soon, maybe RTings will. 🤷♂️
There's a vietnamese youtuber who tested the ATK68 against wooting 60HE and it came out as ~1.5ms slower on actuation and ~3ms slower on release which imo seems really solid for the price. If they update the firmware to allow for the smart speed x function which is supposed to be the equivalent of tachyon mode it might even match it but who knows.
@@itounobue1 If what you’re saying is accurate, Wooting’s only pros are the 4 year warranty and analog/gamepad remapping which wouldn’t be worth the €80 more for most I presume.
@@mimp8365 Yeah it really depends on how much money youre willing to spend and how much you care about customization. Wooting being a standard 60% makes it fit basically any case on the market and youre also able to choose your switches e.g. gateron jades ks-20 orange/white or raptor he. Those dont work on boards with ks-37s as they dont have the additional middle stem that pops into the pcb.
No need for that shit to work the ks37b switches are great, lube or do what you please, change the springs there’s no reason not to love them. It’s not like we need anything else when these are adjustable and can be modded to your desires it’s not like we’re working with clicky vs tactile. The shortcomings can be made up for with firmware. The typing experience out of the box is much much better and after catch up on firmware (hell even right now) they are solid 65% for those that prefer the layout. You aren’t telling me you can feel this latency in game you just aren’t and these things are still better than any normal switch could hope to be. At this point it’s about firmware updates, software or web based updates and implementation and usability.
The Wooting is extremely overrated. The differences are negligible. You can get a Steelseries Apex Pro TKL for like 50$ on the used markets. Polar 65 out of the box is ten times superior, with the sound and feeling. The Wooting is ONLY worth it if you are going to customize it a ton. Other than that save your money. I gladly sold mine for 300$ lol.
I think the thing is that people want good sound for cheaper. The wooting costs a lot of money to upgrade to the point that the polar65 sounds like, which sways some decisions.

only reason I really got the steelseries apex pro was because it was on sale for 135 USD and its globally available, unlike the wooting which doesn't ship everywhere and you have to wait long times for batches/stock. the drunkdeer a75 is also really good at that price
Same reason. Readily available, I prefer TKL, which comes with a palm rest, volume knob (which I need) and the fact I got it (legacy version. Same keyboard with FW updates) for £99 with 2 years warranty. I needed a keyboard ASAP as my previous one died.
Drunkdeer a75 is trash (I own one, I hate it), good switches and solid firmware/software but HORRIBLE build quality. Apex pro performs well but is one of the most poorly built keyboards I've ever seen sadly, wish steelseries cared more about the quality of the products they sold instead of focusing on marketing material (although it does perform well). It's your keyboard though, if you like it and don't care about the sound/feel/build quality then honestly I hope you have a shit ton of fun with it
Wooting has the best implementation, but for some people, it is not only those few ms that matter. I would argue that some stock Wooting copies such as the EGG one are much nicer and don't require as many mods as the Wooting. I spent 300 EUR on the Wooting to be like the EGG feel and look-wise. But the EGG only cost me 150EUR. So it all comes down to what you value more and what your budget is. At the end of the day, good non-HE keyboards are still perfect.
Hey boardzy, I agree with the razer sound, it's terrible. Can I request a review on a new keyboard called "Boog 75" ? It's a new keyboard that sounds heavenly and has rt and adjustable actuation.
I got SS apex tkl 2023, wooting 60he, endgame kb65he, and vgn atk 75. Overall I prefer the atk75 over the wooting since the 60% layout is a bit of pain to use, and atk performance does get close. The problem with steelseries is their switches are very wobbly, I can’t use cherry profile keycaps without problems, gotta stick to oem profile caps which has fewer options. Endgame board imo is garbage, I’m still waiting for the boog 75 to arrive, which I heard share the same core with vgn atk series board (which is a good thing). There is also a board called melgeek cyber01 which may worth checking out as well

Arbiter Polar 65 is good especially if you don’t care to do all that modding ! I use it over the wooting60he right now and the steel series is good to if you don’t care about the software! Once the wooting 80he comes out I’m sure I’ll be back on wooting but I’m not someone who cares about modding lubing and everything so I maybe on the outside here!
@@boardzy yeah my keys are starting to feel a little scratchy and I don’t know how to lube them or anything don’t want to mess up the board! I just switched to KBM 6months ago
To be honest, Polar65 (or other keyboards using same boards - Highgrounds, EGG KB65HE, ATK68 and I have a feeling that Lamzu's new keyboard might be the same) is not HE board that I'd recommend because of one thing - if you want to have a rapid trigger on a key with pretty low actuation point (for example 2mm), you are screwed because while you can set it to reset on 0.1mm lift off (or 0.2 depending on firmware), the next actuation is again 2mm, so you either have to have very short initial actuation or live with the fact that you can't really spam one key in same way as you can do on Wooting, Drunkdeer, Akko Mod007B HE or even Redragon M61 (I'd actually recommend Redragon over Polar65 for pure performance even though Polar65 feels much more robust), it kind of defeats half of the purpose of rapid trigger (we can argue that in most games immediate deactuation is more important than fast re-actuation of the same key but still, I don't understand why it is done that way). I'm still waiting for few other HE keyboards to test (I have preoredered Keychron Q1 HE and Meletrix Boog75) but so far Polar65 is the most underwhelming from the ones I've tested in terms of potential of HE switches vs what it actually delivers.
@@jan.tovarnak well said ! I think the steel series is the closet to wooting atleast according to optimumtech video comparing it against the wooting and couple other RUclipsrs!

dude its just a software difference its all basically the same thing i had the original wooting two and than they came out with magnetic switches right after ill never support that company again insane to pay so much for a pcb
I have been using the Polar 65 for about two weeks and it is a great out of the box option. Having an all aluminum case included as standard really goes a long way for the overall sound, feel, and look of the keyboard. The actuation point modification per switch is a bit tricky at first but once you get a grasp of the interface it's easy to adjust on the fly. I have been hitting superglides in Apex with about 80%-90% consistency after getting the settings dialed in. And hopefully Arbiter will be coming out with software soon for easier setup. I would highly consider looking into this board if you want a great Wooting alternative.
If you have a Polar 65 theres a deadzone fix to get it as responsive as a wooting. I bought some Gateron Jade mini e switches because I wanted to upgrade the sound of the board but Immedietly after plugging in the switches I could notice that deadzone issue had gone away. Im not sure if this will fix the deadzone issues on any other keyboards like the Endgame KB65HE but its worth a try. When I first saw this vid I thought bro was just shilling wooting but there is acc a noticeable difference between a stock wooting and a stock polar 65. There might be other switches out there that also get rid of the deadzone but I havent tried any other switches so I cant say there are.
I keep saying this, it’s the SOFTWARE seriously. All these Chinese OEM keyboard got atrocious software and optimization that lacks refinement, they all looks the same too, like the mouse software.
honetly, i respectfully disagree. I think that wooting is not for 90% of people unless your an esports player you might feel a tiny difference but thats it. i personally feel like using a wooting over any of the custom boards in my collection would be a downgrade in all areas, sound, feel, looks, except maybe a tiny boost in game that just for me isnt worth it. No hate to wooting or people using their boards its just not for me. ill stick with the $500+ per board, customs that ive already got
As a guy who switched from the huntsman mini analog to the apex pro, I feel a huge difference and it took me like 2-3 weeks to get used to it because how responsive it is.
Boardzy telling them the truth they dont want to hear. All these OEM brands suddenly putting out "Rapid Trigger" as their main selling point quickly fooled the market.
they perform the same. We are talking < 20 m/s here in latency/performance difference. The human brain can can only differentiate degraded performance differences between 75-100 m/s. This is clearly a placebo effect.
Honestly, the main competitor wooting has in terms of performance (on paper) would be Drunkdeer or VGN - they're significantly cheaper than wooting and offer very similar levels of performance without the floating actuation point that the other boards had.
Drunkdeer either has horrible qc or just has a ridiculous amount of problems that vary between units, I own one and would not recommend it especially when the atk68 and atk75 exist.
The only thing with the 60hz keyboard is getting to know the layers, it doesnt have arrow keys of FN keys. 1-0 is FN but once you get used to it. Yooo this is hands down the best key board ever.
Except for the apex pros which also have rapid trigger (adjustable sensitivity in software) and 0.1 actuation force too which is same as wooting plus the Apex Pro Mini just sounds and feels far better
I really hope Akko and Keychron offer some cheaper HE boards in the near future. I dont see myself spending 220$ for the Q1 HE or 210 Euro for the MOD007 when Im only ever going to use the dang thing in wired mode. With all the HE boards already being super pricey because its the latest and greatest, I really dont get why the these big players decided to only offer the top of the line wireless variants first instead of sweeping the market from all of the smaller companies like Drunkdeer and whatnot with an actual competitor priced more reasonably.
The reason is down below in the comments someone happy to throw $1k any number of times at a collection of custom keyboards all of which have functional defects like switches that are so poorly made they must be disassembled and fixed by the customer, rgb that is non-functional because the LEDs are south facing, and software that looks like it was written by a grade school class in the 1980s. That's the keyboard hobby in a nutshell.
I wouldn't trust Optimum to test shit properly honestly most of his reviews are half arsed and his equipment is DIY but it's about the best we will get until the rakka tester comes around
@@yhiz4757 I mean yes I can agree but when you have whatever consistent setup to test and measure whatever thing and get consistently different results that also happen to align with other people then ok the number might be different but it kinda checks out that there is a difference and that it's not small yeah? I've been loving the EGG KB65 HE. Got it on sale for $100 and it's amazing how premium it feels for the price. Haven't used a Wooting though so maybe I simply don't know what I'm missing
performance doesn't live up to the egg hype because this board wasn't built in house, they outsourced that pcb from the same factory in china that supplies basically every 65% HE board on the market today which is why the performance is virtually identical between all of em according to a wooting employee these boards use an all in one hallsensor/led ic to cut cost and probably a cheaper mcu as well, combine that with basic generic firmware and you have the recipe for a whole lot of mid......im sure eventually China will refine the tech and firmware and it'll be more on par with wooting but for now they're just trying to capitalize on the HE goldrush
Wireless keyboards are definitely going to be the next thing to take off. Everyone will make a wireless capable keyboard with rapid trigger targeting the 199 price point.
True all of the new hall effect keyboards have same PCB which doesn't have good latency. Untill there is a new revision/new PCB I don't see any of the new keyboards competing with Wooting in objective performance sadly
The problem with Wooting: 60% is nice for gaming but bad for productivity like coding, the 80% is ugly as shit and still lacks features in this regard and the old 2HE is a fullsize. Wooting shot themself with not releasing a TKL over the shitty 80% imo.
I just installed Gateron Jade switches two nights ago. It's in a Tofu60 Redux, PC plate, tuned stabs and it sounds fucking majestic. If they released a 65% I would build another Wooting. I'm going to pass on the 80HE, seems like it's going to be way too big plus case compatibility is going to be an issue.

It's the only keyboard I care about at all.
before i watch the video, i want to say that it brings me joy to always see your videos on my timeline. thank you for doing this
I just installed the Gateron Jade switches (110pcs) last weekend in my otherwise stock Wooting Two HE. They´re lighter and have around 0.5mm less travel, but they sound way better thanks to the closed bottom and they come pre-lubed. They feel like they actuate faster at below 1mm travel, but that might just be the lighter springs that make it feel that way.
Soooo. What EXACTLY are your issues?
Watch optimum tech video on them all. Wooting has way less latency and the rapid trigger is far superior
@@woehr6 check the polar 65 with the new software update, it improved rapid trigger accuracy.
there are HE keebs with less latency, SOCD, QMK, everything the wooting has, but far cheaper, not in a shitty plastic case, not lacking gasket mount, and you're not waiting forever to get one at this point (iqunix ez63 for example). stop the glaze. it was good when it came out but its quickly declining
These folk are all fanboys bro, even in my shitty hood/ghetto, 🥷🏿 are getting drunkdeers and shii
moral of the story : if you want the best, just get a wooting.
Would argue the Boog75 takes that spot. As long as latency isn’t an issue but I trust Meletrix.
But those cost too much money

are you actually a woman?
All that and the wooting still doesn’t have a 75% size
Good to see people trolling you for 6 months finally paid off.
@@xw111ow Can you elaborate on that? What hindered you with the implementation?
Can’t say “perfect” which is an objective term and then “what you value more” which is subjective. Very much contradictory…
Hey boardzy, I agree with the razer sound, it's terrible. Can I request a review on a new keyboard called "Boog 75" ? It's a new keyboard that sounds heavenly and has rt and adjustable actuation.
Will do
I got SS apex tkl 2023, wooting 60he, endgame kb65he, and vgn atk 75. There is also a board called melgeek cyber01 which may worth checking out as well
Is the atk75 gasket mount? I heard rumors but wasn't sure
@@yhiz4757 yes it is gasket mount. it felt pretty good for especially for the price. the only problem is the switches felt over lubed, not too much of an issue tho

THE POLAR KEYBOARD IS VERY GAPPED IN TERMS OF PERFORMANCE VS APEX PRO TKL (2022). MOVEMENT IN OW2, OTHER GAMES LEGIT FEELS LIKE HALVED PING AFTER GOING BACK TO APEX PRO

Also, why wouldn’t you want more companies in that part of the industry? That’s how companies innovate and price drop.

I would highly consider looking into this board if you want a great Wooting alternative.
already came out with the software a couple days ago! its great
Yo you should try the mad lions mad 60he
If you have a Polar 65 theres a deadzone fix to get it as responsive as a wooting.
All these Chinese OEM keyboard got atrocious software and optimization that lacks refinement, they all looks the same too, like the mouse software.

kind of need more explanation on why the polar65 is less performing than the wooting
they perform the same.
Drunkdeer has quite a bit worse functionality. Vgn has same oem as polar65! So those two are great

With all the HE boards already being super pricey because its the latest and greatest, I really dont get why the these big players decided to only offer the top of the line wireless variants first instead of sweeping the market from all of the smaller companies like Drunkdeer and whatnot with an actual competitor priced more reasonably.
The reason is down below in the comments someone happy to throw $1k any number of times at a collection of custom keyboards all of which have functional defects like switches that are so poorly made they must be disassembled and fixed by the customer, rgb that is non-functional because the LEDs are south facing, and software that looks like it was written by a grade school class in the 1980s. performance doesn't live up to the egg hype because this board wasn't built in house, they outsourced that pcb from the same factory in china that supplies basically every 65% HE board on the market today which is why the performance is virtually identical between all of em
according to a wooting employee these boards use an all in one hallsensor/led ic to cut cost and probably a cheaper mcu as well, combine that with basic generic firmware and you have the recipe for a whole lot of mid......im sure eventually China will refine the tech and firmware and it'll be more on par with wooting but for now they're just trying to capitalize on the HE goldrush
Wireless keyboards are definitely going to be the next thing to take off. Everyone will make a wireless capable keyboard with rapid trigger targeting the 199 price point.
