Javier was playing the superior deck between him and Seth and tbh Javier should've won g2 of the semis, he also made a bad decision IMO g1 by not countering the Overlord, he could've played double Faerie Mastermind turn 4 in response to 2nd Overlord turn 5 for max card advantage, anyways the end Annex carried Javier to a comeback victory.
I’m so happy for Javier after what happened to him in the Modern tournament in June. Congrats Javier! It was also very refreshing to see the Demon deck win instead of Azorius Eye or Gruul Aggro.
Not to mention Javier seems to always be thinking in a different direction than his opponents. Being the only one in the top 8 at PT Nadu with jeskai control then here winning with dimir demons and a unique build on it at that. Dude deserves everything he's earned.
Got to watch pro tour murder in Chicago. Love the team, thanks to all of you for what you do for the game I love. Y’all don’t get enough thanks. Traveling all over being away from your homes, thank you. Seriously thank you

Feels like as someone new to Magic this entire thing could be so much better presented.. I can't read and see what the cards are doing as the camera is so zoomed out, can we not at the least get a digital pop up of when a card is played on a turn, to read it zoomed in for a bit?
I wanted to see Shota win when I saw he was here because he’s my favorite player of all time but before that in my heart Javier was my man, he is my favorite player in the past couple of years for sure. Super congratulations to him because he had to fight through some crazy obstacles to get to the finals.

I swear there is some janky blue/white artifact creature deck that's playable in standard rn. There's some 4-mana cost artifact creatures that don't die to annoint, dont die to go for the throat and dont die to cut down. Hoses their entire removal suite.
This video was uploaded while i was halfway through the day 2 vod. I guess i won’t bother watching the rest of day 2, or even start day 3 👏🏻. How about some spoiler free thumbnails for the first month? The first week?
i prefer seths golgari because of tear asunder main deck. too many enchantments and artifacts running around and robbery main deck to turn around doomsday combo
I am actually kind of appalled that the commentators don't have a good mtg knowledge. I heard them many times across this and other games commenting some plays that wouldn't have played out as they thought. I think it is not too difficult to ask of them to have a good knowledge of standard cards, especially at a level as high as this. Probably most people are not bothered by this, but I personally think that the commentary loses a lot of value when the commentators are just misjudging cards constantly. I am a very average mtg player, not a skilled one and neither a competitive one, but even I know how the most relevant cards in standard work, and I think they should as well. Some examples are: in this game they didn't know that the dying dreadknight doesn't get exiled and in one of the semifinals they were not aware of the "if you cast it" clause on the excruciator.
Why does nobody have "Render Inert" in their sideboard? It's the perfect counter against Archfiend of the Dross and will make the opponent lose instantly if they cannot counter it.
@@brunooxvBecause he has multiple documented cases of past cheating and he was penalized for it. Patrick Chapin also documented a unsportsmanlike conduct / series of actions by him back when deck lists were private. Don't get me wrong people can change, and people should be given opportunities for redemption. But I haven't seen anything where he has publicly taken ownership of his mistakes and publicly owned up to past conduct, saying I want to build a new clean record and blaze a new path. I hope I see that at some point in the future. When that time comes he can be viewed in a better light like Javier and Simon.
I cant imagine a more harrowing card to play against with Carvalho than Dreadknight - a perfect card for getting 'distracted' about the state of. There's no sense behind letting someone with this long history of dirty play and cheating continuously compete in tournaments.
It's amazing how consistently high-level Marcio and Javier play. They truly are some of the greatest to ever do it.
