    Hello as usual your videos are very simple and detailed and I like to see every bit as I get lot of ideas and I love it just because I am also a normal hobbyist..I want to tell about the hang on back filter you purchased ...I have a shiruba hang filter motor outside not in water ..the problem you mentioned that we have to fill water everytime is not true ..during feeding I stop them and start after 20min it automatically pulls water ..Only thing when I need to fill water is when I clean the filters and tanks ..entire water get empty from filter and to start I have to fill water ..but that's ok once in aweek ..the tip is if you keep the level of water very high just above the filter indicator still where you need to maintain water then it automatically pulls and it looks good the tank doesn't have the motor occupying space inside and just a input pipe that's it ..just for your info .thanks 😊

    Ryo, you can use the big hang on back filter on the 4ft tank. Just cut a little notch out in the rim part. You will not hurt the aquarium in any way and will still be able to use the lids. It would not be that hard to just notch that little piece out. Just mark it on the rim when the filter is sitting on it and then get a Dremel or small rotary tool and cut that little piece out. 👍🏼

    Seachem tidal is best for HOB filters. I think the 75gal version could clear the bracing from your tank.

    • @RyoWatanabee
      @RyoWatanabee  3 года назад +1

      I’ve checked tidal as well. It’s got to have at least 3.5cm clearance for my tank and the tidal one is very close to that. I don’t want to buy it and risk it not working 😅

    • @monx1983
      @monx1983 3 года назад +2

      @@RyoWatanabee then go for tidal 110 as it clears 3.5mm, you can just lower down the flow as flow control is great for tidal. I'm using tidal 75 for my 50gal tank for my goldfish. I cant remember if it was koDIY or primetime aquatics always said that always go 1 step higher for the rating of your filter. Plus seachem tidal rivals canister filters in space for bio media. Only downside is its a bit expensive.

    I think you could have still ran sponge filters but yeah that air pump was super overkill for the amount of tanks you’ve got running at the moment. Probably could have compromised with 2 smaller but bigger (if that makes sense lol) air pumps. Of course there would still be some noise but no where near as loud. Rather than a obnoxious hissing sound it’d be a humming which in my opinion is a lot more tolerable haha 😂

  • @ReneesZooTube

    I get migraine headaches, so I can't deal with lots of noise for my fish tanks. The first air pump I got was SO noisy. I just couldn't stand it. You're right, it's simple. But I don't want to modify the tank. It would void the warranty

    After a year, you can return the air compressor and make a video "How to Reduce Electricity Costs". And thus you will earn from advertising water pumps, air compressors and watching your videos.

    Why didnt you just put that air into a tank of water with no fish in it, wouldn't that be quieter?

    Oh cmon Ryo 😀 that little thing can't run a 60cm tank in no way 😀
    Not enough bio media
    Not enough flow
    That can be enough for a breeder 60cm tank, but planted tank nah

    • @RyoWatanabee
      @RyoWatanabee  3 года назад

      Mate, totally the opposite. You really don’t need a single filter for a planted tank. I just like having it there for flow and some beneficial bacteria. Check out how Lrb aquatics filters all his tanks
