Some of these are funny, but some are pretty damn inspiring. The strength and grit of some of those soldiers to fight through their chants while breathing tear gas, and the comradery and support afterwards was awesome.
Why does it have to be something where people feel discomfort? Is there in any other sector such rituals? Imagine you get a promotion on the job and the first day with the new salary you had to inhale some poison gas. Would that be acceptable that your bosses requires it? Is just stupid and uncivil.

I've gotten tazed, oc sprayed, cs gas, and all sorts of other painful experiences with my time in the marine corps, and I can tell you without a doubt that oc spray is the most pain I've ever experienced

@@terricampbell3179 The military specializes in creating a gung-ho mindset which is important that you believe that you or your team can do anything when facing the enemy, but there are few skills the military can do that civilians don't do better (other than some things that are very job specific). Most world-record holders in scuba diving, skydiving, swimming, obstacle course racing, shooting etc., are civilians who never served. So, in reality civilians get push harder with results. The one thing that I truly think the military does better than anyone else is teach. Friends of mine who could barely pass a math class became trig experts thanks to artillery school. One worked for Space-X and solved a problem the Ph.D. engineers couldn't figure out based on what he learned about shell trajectory. Public schools need to adopt whatever the military does to turn idiots into geniuses.

@@ASB117 Quite possible. But given where he finally crash landed. He landed belly down with loadsss of reduced speed from his final turn. He also landed in 3 or more meters of powder snow which would have given him enough cushion for the pilots body weight itself. Though he was in the helicopter so that would add a lot of weight :l

Yeah, that used to happen quote a lot at mutual training exercises. German doctrine was to conserve ammo with short precise bursts...american doctrine was to let 'er rip because we sure as hell aint humping it back to base. :-)

@@fridaymorning139 I think the test was to practice jumping into the water with his equipment on but he was scared of going doing it because he has troubles swimming. That's why the instructor said, "Believe it or not you was swimming."

They won’t tell you ( unless you dig ) how many “kids” trying to “fight for their country “ died with this kind of training. Gotta be a better way than making it happen - this will kill someone who goes into high altitude yes so I see why it needs to be training for it but actually making it happen is horribly risky and as I said many have died. It looks funny to you but to me it looks sad. He doesn’t even know what they are doing to his brain and what risk he is in: they don’t tell you either. Just man up and fight for your country right. 14:40 My grandpa told me of this one guy when he was training to be a part of the Marine core who didn't keep his head down when crawling like they were supposed to. The trainee ended up getting hit by a live round when they trained under live machine gun fire. My grandpa went on to serve in the Marines and was honorably discharged as a corporal at the end of WW2. He then went to the same school as Trump and his kids before managing a Honeywell for decades before he retired and spent the rest of his life in retirement before dying on the first day of Spring in 2015. Interestingly I started my college senate service right after that. I now work in environmental services and plan to lead the field, run a museum and have a family.

The only thing is that he is aiming by tracers, not using sights. You can't shoot accurately unless you have a long burst to walk rounds on target since only like every 5 rounds have the trace. If you fire 2 round bursts, you are firing most of your rounds blindly. Plus the 50 cal needs volume of fire in order to be effective.
