The only downside I've found to digital tracks is that occasionally self-released tunes are not properly mastered and will damage a big sound system. There's not much upside to staying vinyl based. When it's properly mastered and cut the vinyl low end is warmer IMO. But the chances of pulling a beautifully mastered tune is not over 70%. I quit buying vinyl last year after buying since 1997. With digital you can make your own VIP edits at home. You can carry 20 crates of music with you in your pocket all tagged by key, BPM artist, etc. I used to have to lug around a 40 pound case or bag. You had to know tunes from the sleeves. I've played the wrong side of a plate by accident. I've rushed to queue at the wrong platter speed in a pinch. Many times BITD you'd show up to play at a club and the turntable tonearms were wonky or the cartridges a nightmare. Almost every DJ carried around his/her cartridges in case there was a sketchy setup.
That said I think every deejay should be competent enough to beat-match on decks as a backup. It's part of the heritage. It really shows the current generation the challenges of working under less than ideal conditions to keep the party moving.

I think when people say vinyl they are more talking about using serato not actual records.

Ohhh. I guess some things I said in the video are irrelevant then, but I still don’t understand why people would want every DJ to use that

Bro, you 100% can, I’m just not sure if you would be able to take it to the club as of yet, there’s a lot of adapting that needs to happen before that can be a thing. But for casual DJing, you absolutely can!

Vinyl music sounds better bro, have you every listen to real music band on vinyl then on mp3 or wav gappy a F, some music just sound better on vinyl, it dont take much to make and release and tracks so at the moment we are in a blob a dead sounds which we class as music. what sounds and feels better a real sax or trumpet or a sample?? every one has there own choice and it depends on the music you have been bought up on and own, its the choice a dj makes, try recording vinyl to mp3 or wav its just sounds crap not worth the time effort or sound quality. 1200SL AND FLX10 USER, I COME FROM BOTH WORLDS

The word you are looking for is “warmer” my friend, not better. Vinyl is analog, there is no way that an imperfect copy sounds better than the studio master. You prefer it and that’s fine, but you are wrong. The trumpet produces the sound, its an instrument, vinyl is an analog version of a sound that was created digitally (even trumpets are recorded into an electronic mic and placed into a digital Audio workstation), therefore vinyl is OBJECTIVELY WORSE. You come from both worlds and that’s dope, but you might want to get a clearer understanding of what’s what.

@@thozimusic warmer may be the word you and many use on how vinyl makes you feel, but I said better.. thats the term I use. Which part am I wrong on?? the copying vinyl to mp3 or wav or where i asked you what sounds better to yourself a real sax trumpet or a sample. whats wrong in these questions. if your about the music you will come with a decent answer, not trying to beef you bro but maybe if you try a turntable or 2 you might have a clearer understanding of what is what or ...just how it is. this convo should have been about your vid.. if vinyl make you a better dj??? in a nut shell no, but i would love to know your thoughts on what makes someone a better dj? selection and crowd reading is important to me the rest is standard.

Okay let’s do it like this.
You are wrong because a wav file can be exported as lossless (meaning it’s identical to the studio master and there’s no quality lost) while vinyl is an analog version of that, with guaranteed imperfections.
You are wrong by even mentioning trumpets. Those are instruments and vinyl is a medium
With mp3 files, you can quantify the quality, e.g. 320kbps. On vinyl that’s not even a thing, no one knows the exact number, what we do know is that it gets worse over time
You are wrong by saying vinyl is better, that’s like saying a VHS tape is better than a 4K/8K video (this is quite literally the most accurate example I can think of)
Switching the chat to DJs. My answer is: depends on the type of DJ you are.
