- Céline Dion performing her signature hit-“My Heart Will Go On“ at the GRAMMY stage in 1998.
• On February 25, 1998, Céline Dion took part of the 40th Annual GRAMMY Awards. Céline & Barbra Streisand was nominated for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals.
They were supposed to perform "Tell Him"-their GRAMMY nominated song however since Barbra had a flu during the rehearsal week and the night of the ceremony, Céline then performed “My Heart Will Go On“ at the GRAMMY stage.
In 1999, the song would won two GRAMMYs including the Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and the coveted golden gramophone for the Record of the Year.

The fact that Celine wasn't even supposed to perform this song at all at the Grammys is even more shocking. This happened only because Barbara Streisand couldn't make it for their duet song.
THEY(CELINE AND BARBARA) DIDN'T HAVE ANY DUET TOGETHER AT THIS POINT. BARBARA was supposed to perform I FINALY FOUND SOMEONE", AND COULDN'T, SO CELINE PERFORMED IT. THEN THE DUET CAME RIGHT AFTER THAT!
@@yourfavfamouscontent That’s not actually true. If this performance was, in fact, in 1998, then their duet was already out for a year (on Streisand’s 1997 album, Higher Ground). The “I Finally Found Someone” incident you’re referring to happened at the Oscars the year before, not the Grammys.

Yas! This was the exact tin whistle that was used during the recording of the song..
The whole instrumental used/played for this performance somehow replicated the studio version.
This is why I loved the Grammy performance the most! She got to perform the whole song with the correct whistle.
I remember running home to watch the Grammys Just to see this performance!
And to think just the year before she’d blown the Grammys away with All By Myself…
