I still remember how New Tealand started with this one little square all these years ago. It's come a long way! One thing I noticed, that's not usually visible from the top down perspective, are a lot of magically floating elevated bike paths and bridges.
I think of all the cities i've been watching you build from Teaville onwards (I think i started around a quarter of the way into Teaville then re-watched it to get upto speed), New Tealand is definately the star of the show for me. You've really outdone yourself with this series from location to keeping it going for as long as you have. It makes me really excited to see what you (and the other creators that i've been and started following) come up with when we all get the green light to play, record and show off our Skylines II projects.
Incredible work. I never comment but I would just like to say thank you Biffa. It has been a wonderful journey and a comfort watching you build this over the years. You've been an excellent host and I'm really looking forward to joining you for CS2. 🥂
So many memories! I'm calling out the names of the neighborhoods as you drive through them, recalling the builds, the challenges, and the laughs. I can only imagine if it's melancholy for me, what emotions you must experience when you see all this. Superb music choices, too! Thanks for including the titles as it will make it easier to search for them. Shazam doesn't always catch the right one. Thanks, Biffa, for your commitment to New Tealand, and thanks to your family for their patience!!
New Tealand has a lot of great landmarks. I love that you can see Alien Rock Park from all over town. So majestic...and top heavy! Lol! I can't believe I'd forgotten the awesome bike highway. They get really great views, don't they? The Asian inspired district has really grown on me over the years. I remember not liking the pink and orange together, but now it's just a vibrant part of the city. The Teawis have some seriously bad drivers, though. I know I'll enjoy the next city too, but I'm gonna miss New Tealand.
Can't wait to see your episodes once you're fully versed in the new cinematic camera tools. Is it strange to be more excited for the content than the game? :o
Just saw this video in my inbox and had to go watch it straight away. Have been watching this build series since the beginning. What a beautiful map and city. Thanks to this series I got into Cities Skylines and built my own city on the same map.
The end of an era; I'd love to see New Tealand in CS2 with a comparison (unlikely you'd wanna spend another 8 years on it haha) but it'd be great to see how far this has come. Thanks for sharing your tour and time with us Biffa!
That's a long time man to be building a city but I bet you had a blast doing it. From what I've seen so far it's great, you got a real eye for the game
Watching you grow this city has been one of my RUclips watching highlights, and I don't even play the game. Can't wait to see the next mega city you make in CSII. I loved how this city brought in the mods, the new buildings and zones and wasn't themed around creating something that looks like a place in real life. You were just going with the flow and using the land to it's full advantage.
Now that is a bit crazy. I remember I was watching you all along the way from the start of this city! I spent more time enjoying the game through you then attempting to use my patience to build something worth sharing lol. Great work! I am also sure you had to do some work to make sure all your assets continued to work a few times! Thank you for keeping it alive.

Very nice! Brings back a lot of memories. Loved that shed going through the station with the ore waggons: sooo much better looking than the vanilla cargo trains. Favourite part of the city? Probably the map, since it allowed you such a variety of styles in different places, even if some of the early ones did die in a horrible inferno, including some pretty key infrastructure if I remember rightly... much fun!
I've only been following New Tealand for 2 years, but binge watched all the earlier episodes. Alien rock park is so absurd (in a good way) I just laughed when I saw it looming over the city! I like the Winky Wonky interchange though!
I really love every part of this city. I felt in love with it and played the same map for more than one year, then I lost everything after PC upgrade cause I'm dumb. Beautiful City! You did a great job! I also want to thank you. You are the reason that I started playing CS again(after a long hiatus) and now started uploading my own videos!
Shows the strengths and weakness of CS and what a talented designer can do to maximize the first and minimize the last. Yes, sims walked through the train walls instead of the doors and one vehicle ran through the crossing guard and the train (which had priority) stopped, but overall the assets looked darn good. The city felt real, natural, organic. Well, except for that rock tower. Ten years ago I never would have thought that a city-building game's city could look so good. Well done.
By far my favourite map. I myself build my opus magnum on that map. So many hours of joy and PAIN. Had to buy more RAM just to load everything. Some striking similarities between our Cities and some totally different aproaches. I really enjoy your version of this map/cities.
Thank you for this tour, it was a wild journey. You and so many creators have been such an inspiration to my own play style. The CS community is amazing and its always a joy to see so many familiar faces here in the comments section.
Eight years?? Wow! It's been fun watching you revisit and revamp things as the game changed and your growth in the game adjusted how you did things. It's kind of bittersweet. Looking forward to 8+ years in CS2!
I was there on day 1 when New Tealand was born. My favorite part was the entertainment district. Love you, man. Can't wait until the full release of CS2.
I really shouldn’t be getting emotional at this… I thoroughly enjoyed watching that; always loved the attention to detail and creativity. I wish we could’ve seen how Blightea would have blossomed, because I would’ve loved to have watched a drive-through in 8 years time. Please, one day, when the assets are all there, can we have another British build in CS2? In the meantime, looking forward to all that follows. Biffa, there’s no better RUclipsr. Keep up the awesome work.
Having watched all the back episodes, and catching-up about two years ago during Covid. I will be sad to see this series retire. I know you will go on to CSII with the same amazing content. Thank you @Biffa Plays Indie Games ❤
I'm going to miss New Tealand! It is by far the best city you have created. And I'm glad to see that you have ditched the vanilla traffic - if only for the sake of this video clip. My poor laptop has to load 12,000 assets, most of which are vehicles. YOU introduced me to Cities Skylines, so it stands to reason that traffic is the main purpose of my cities - in fact, in the beginning, cities were just an inconvenience one had to put up with and build in order to CREATE traffic. Now, of course, I put a lot more effort into creating beautiful cities, but I still follow all the traffic rules. My current magnum opus, Sonus Silentii (The Sound of Silence, so called since I always turn the sound off just to shut those bloody sirens up!) is created from scratch with despawning turned off, but still enjoys 80% traffic flow, all thanks to the lessons I have learned from you. I guess you will be abandoning New Tealand soon when CS2 comes out. I shall miss you, O Great Guru! You have taught me much, for which I thank you profusely. If you need New Tealand finishing off... *nudge, nudge, wink wink* (And I could fix that long queue of traffic clogging your motorway for you! 😉)
New Tealland was where it all started for me. Dont think theres another Biffa CS1 video out there that I havent seen since... it's a shame that its come to an end and the new CS2 is soon to be in full swing. Unfortunately itll be some time until I buy a PS5 but the release of CS2 as well as increasing errors on my ageing ps4 has got me thinking an upgrade will be required sooner rather than later. And I have you and city planner plays to thank for that! 😂 Keep up the great work Biffa... 👍
Thank you so much Biffa!!! You've put in so much work to make this a wonderful city over the last several years. It was awesome to just sit back and ride around and view the sites. I hope you put up more videos like this just driving or walking around, especially in CS2. I have enjoyed your series and look forward to the next stage.
I can remember nearly all the bits... Each time you went back to rebuild an area or add a new DLC. The best bit for me was the attention to detail the you maintained over time. I do hope you save this City some how. I know it must be finished by now. It may not run well but it sure looks good.
I remember so much of the city from your buildingvideos. I think it was an unbelievable awesome job to make the city. I'm gonna miss it a little bit, but I'm thrilled for your Cities2 vids.

By far my favourite map. I myself build my opus magnum on that map. So many hours of joy and PAIN. Had to buy more RAM just to load everything. Some striking similarities between our Cities and some totally different aproaches. I really enjoy your version of this map/cities.
Thankyou 🙏
your city look great just hope that the will neve use that rocket 2:57 next to the hotel =)
Best city you've ever made
Thank you 😀
Thank you for this tour, it was a wild journey.
New Tealand looks lovely this time of the year, Good work. Can't wait to see what you come up with in City Skylines 2.
Looks beautiful. I'm happy I watched the episodes that made it!
Having watched all the back episodes, and catching-up about two years ago during Covid. I will be sad to see this series retire. I know you will go on to CSII with the same amazing content. Thank you @Biffa Plays Indie Games ❤
Thank you too :-)
Very exciting. Rock Park looked so cool coming in to land!
I love New Tealand. Thanks for this tour, and for sharing the building of it with us over the years.
I went completely overboard with this thing to the point where i can’t get the save to load anymore. Best map in the game imo. ❤
Oh what memories!!! I remember watching each one of these too, and each day I'd get so excited waiting for the next episode to come out.
*nudge, nudge, wink wink*
(And I could fix that long queue of traffic clogging your motorway for you!
New Tealand is so satisfying, such an epic masterpiece. Looking forward to the new adventures coming soon.
I’ve been out of the loop for a while nice re-entry point, thanks a bunch Mister Biff!!! ❤

This is crazy . I been following this city for a minute. Great to see it done and look amazing
the city that made me fall in love with cs1 and that learned me to play the game well.. thank you so much for that!
I remember so much of the city from your buildingvideos. I think it was an unbelievable awesome job to make the city. I'm gonna miss it a little bit, but I'm thrilled for your Cities2 vids.
discovered your channel 3-4 month ago
found your new tealand series
tried to watch the whole playlist (about 20 video left)
thanks for the amazing content and inspiring me to build my own city
this is really great work! (side note to the devs: trains don't stop at intersections for cars, they only stop at stations)
