1:28 An unfortunate typo, because Jack is a Rogue who turns into a Seeker.
I hope you don't mind me saying this, but when it comes to discussions about investigators, I much prefer the older layout and format (like what I saw when you guys were going over the core set investigators). The character's statlines and abilities are fully visible until you go into the character-specific cards, and that's where you then point to the pros and cons of each. That said, I do like how the pros and cons of the investigators are written out from the start, which isn't seen in the older format.

So what I did is play Monterey with Underworld Support: I had Gené, had Prophesiae, had Chart (1) and the Boots but didn't draw all of them. Instead - and that feels quite rogue-y - I had one scenario where Gene was the winning peace, one with the Profana, one where the Boots got to shine, but it didn't become too easy or stale, if you will. I habe to admit: it still felt powerful and - playing RtTFA alongside my wife's Tony - I was asking myself " is this not supposed to be the hardest campaign?" - but it was fun and not easy nonetheless

Man from Leng, I built a Deciphered reality deck, without Hiking boots, Ariadne's twin, and with Eon chart(1) only. May be worth digging into it...

I'm trying a Forced Learning Monterey Jack with 2 sled dogs and Cookie as a sidekick. CRAZY!
Daniela backing him up the few times this combo needs it. If hunters come out out race them to camp and as they trickle in Daniela smacks them. If you need to get to a location on the other side of the map quickly to keep something from happening he gets there really quick and stops it.
I'm just using the EotE cycle cards only.

I see two easy mutations to fix Twine and Eon Chart. A) Change Twine to being 2 resources per Secret, and b) Add "Other cards cannot add secrets to this card". Not quite sure what I think of them, though.

I don't think just crossing out the part in the parentheses is a very good taboo, because of what you said in the video: Monterey's ability triggers just from playing the game normally. And - regardless of power level - that's the REAL problem, because then you end up playing a deck that's just "The 30 best Seeker and Rogue cards"
Rather, I think they should do the opposite - have his ability ONLY trigger if you end your turn 2 spaces away, giving you a resource and a card draw. This creates a far more interesting deckbuilding puzzle, because you're far less likely to do this in the course of normal gameplay. You have to look at using effects like Pathfinder or Hiking boots in conjunction with either each other or a regular move action, or utilize teleport effects/multi-move cards.
In any case, Eon Chart and Ariadne's Twine definitely need Taboos. I can see a world where, if all of that happened, Monterey could become a really fun Investigator to build and play!
And, I mean, if nothing else.... you can always just house rule these things, and give it a go!

The Seeker pool needs a ton of adjustment at this point, and not a few XP here and there. Basically any piece of the free-action juggernaut (Eon Chart, Ariadne's Twine, Mr. Rook, Astounding Revelation, Crack the Case, Shortcut, Hiking Boots, Pathfinder, Pendant of the Queen, etc etc) as well as any card where the Seeker version is the more efficient than their equivalent of other classes' themes (Strange Solution: Acidic Ichor, Ancient Stones, Profesae Profana, I've Got a Plan, Pendant of the Queen, etc etc), all are Taboo-worthy. I'm concerned that the next Taboo List won't go far enough, just as it never actually has!
The problem is so pervasive now and so baked into the Seeker cardpool that it's difficult to *not* build an overpowered Seeker deck! If houseruling the pool were that easy, we'd have done it already! It's actually easier to just... not play Seekers.
