- Here are 5 different ways to store an RV weight distribution hitch while camping. I choose to go with a DIY trailer hitch storage, creating a no weld, no drill hitch hanger form y travel trailer. Easily store and secure your RV hitch. Weight distribution hitches are bulky, heavy, and a pain to store. Quick tip, since our sewer hoses don't fit in our rear bumper, we store our WDH rods in the rear bumper when camping.

My travel trailer has a 2" hitch receiver on the back that we didn't use... until I started storing my WDH in it. It's welded to the frame from the manufacturer, so no easy theft. It just looks silly having a trailer look like it's ready to tow another trailer. :)

Your local metal yard is going to be the best location - google will be your friend there. You could probably have it shipped but I was able to go to the yard and they gave me a really cheap price because I only needed less than 2 feet for the job - the piece I got was a cut off scrap.

Local metal yard - I did a google search for metal suppliers near me. Then because I needed such a short piece they were able to find a cut off piece and it was really inexpensive.
I have seen an ad for an ezstorhitch that locks down the weight distribution bars with the hitch. How do you store your weight distribution bars?
EZ Stor Hitch has some great features - all depends on what type of bars you have wether or not it will lock them or not. I personally store my bars just inside the pass through door or use them to weigh down my sewer hose: ruclips.net/user/shortsX8OxC1NMVQU
