I ain't gonna lie. I so could not understand those instructions on the packet 😥. Thank God for your channel cuz i would've tossed the whole thing in there over frustration!
Her instructions are great. Instead of supplied hook i actually used 2 zipties as it keeps in place as I kept hearing snap noise once fan stops and it was waking me up.
Thank you so much. The attached Directions were very vague. Also the back on my scentezaor fresones was the same color as the other part so it was more confusing. I just hope it does not fall into my return when we replace the Filter, because my return in on a side wall.
I appreciate the video, because I agree with everyone that the directions are terrible. But after reading them again, I believe you have it backwards. For some reason, I just read them again and saw something important. It does say to put the gel side out, however it says: "Air flow hits fragrance gel side first, then the filter." And it has a picture of the airflow hitting the gel before the filter. So, if I'm correct, on both yours and mine, it should be on the bottom, not the top. Just in case anyone's confused about the air flow, the arrow points to the direction of the furnace or blower motor, not the other way around. The air is return air being pulled from the house and back up to the furnace. The question for me, then, is where do I attach it, as the bottom only has pleats and nothing to hang it on. I guess I can either puncture the filter, or simply put it on the bottom and let the metal register hold it in place. Best of luck to everybody!
I installed the way you described and thought it was wrong because I didn’t smell anything. Will try her way to see if it works. Did it work for you?? Or anyone?
I'm pretty sure if you put air freshener before filter, it will eliminate the smell especially with a stronger MERV, so it makes sense to add it after the filtration.
Robert, I agree she has it backwards. This a situation where the manufacturer of these fragrances ( Protect Plus Industries) and essentially giving home owners incorrect information and misleading them into reverse installing their filters so that the arrow on the filter is facing the wrong direction. The arrow on the filter is supposed to face the direction of the blower motor. The stupid folks at Protect Plus must think that you can just reverse the direction of the filter which you cannot which is why the filter manufacture printed an arrow on the filter to ensure the homeowners install the filter with the wire side facing the blower motor.
Yea I was about to do it this way and when the unit turned on it pulled the freshener up good thing it stuck to the side otherwise it would be somewhere in the system. I just put it under and hope that works
From my understanding you want in the back. That's what I understand from the instructions. 🤷♂️. I also just stapled it to the back. Made life easier.
I had some problem getting it on with a hook, so slide the sheet into the filter. Also, I'm going to place the vanilla sheet on the bed lamp and see how long the scent lasts. The vanilla is good. Doesn't smell artificial like some vanillas.
Hey, great video. I’d like to add one small thing, and that is, please make sure that the deodorizer clip on is not on the wrong side of the filter, why? If the clip on air freshener is placed on the side where the arrow is pointing ,when the fan comes on ,it will suck the deodorizer clip on into the fan blades, and you don’t want that do you? Easy fix, place the deodorizer on the return side so that it cannot be sucked in past the filter, get it? Have fun and enjoy the wonderful smell, Stevie.
Thanks for that!! The only issue I had with that is my vent is pretty high on the ceiling. So, now when I try to install it facing outward (towards the vent holes) it keeps falling off the hook. Have you had luck with them in terms of longevity?
And once the air is on the power will suck that thing up into the hvac. I place mine on the side so when you close all back up you see the air freshener
Wait!!!??? So the freshener sits on top of the filter on the side that allows it to get sucked up into the furnace?? That seems dangerous to me. It's also NOT on the correct side on the instructions. The airflow doesn't flow towards the lattice side of the filter. Air flows from the blank side
I tried a Furnace Fragrance for the first time. I placed the entire patch downward. It worked very well, until these seams started to SEPARATE. It cause a tripping effect to my A/C Unit. Made Cheaply for Thousands! I placed it Down instead of Up. I"m not so sure this item is a good idea. If made correctly, then I'll purchase it. I never seen a pin to place on to Filter. This item should be designed as a stick on without all this peeling off, and pin to paper X"s.
I found a dozen different videos, all of which were doing it differently. The freshener goes on the Opposite side of the point on arrow direction. Gel Out
Yes this video is incorrect it need to go on the side not being sucked by the air flow on the outside pointing towards your house or on the opposite side gel facing out from the side that sucks the air filter up
Yes, but it only lasted for a good 3-5 days!! I have a two story home and two air vents, but only decided to use for my upstairs vent just to try it out. So I don’t know if this could of been a factor to why it didn’t last long, but I was hoping for a longer last freshener. Fyi..it was a long lasting strong sent when first installed for the first three days and then it slowly started wearing off. Hope this helps!!
I bought and installed a yankee candle freshener. The instructions were very unclear as to which direction it should go on the filter. Plus the hook is not very secure. So of course the filter got sucked into my motor and I cant get to it. And your video is also not very clear concerning air flow.
You’re Wrong, because all the dirt and nasty air is going to hit the gel. It needs to be the way she has it because the air has to be clean when it hits the gel side.
I don't think your installation is correct. According to the last wrap instructions the gel caps are supposed to face the opposite direction of the air flow
Incorrect, because the dirt and all the nasty air particles will hit the gel. It has to be on the filtered air side. The way she has it is the correct way.

Amen to that because those directions made no sense whatsoever! I'm glad I'm not the only one that didn't get it...lol!

Same! They have the worst directions ever! Thank goodness for this video😂
Thank you, I’m a visual learner. Reading the instructions was like reading another language 😂
Thank God! I thought I was the only one who didn't understand the damn directions on the damn package!!
Thank You!!! The instructions on the package were not very clear to me.

Thanks this was helpful cause I was confused on what to detach, appreciate your help

I just found one at Ace Hardware - thank you for taking the time to give an easy to follow instruction video 👍
Thank you for your help!
Thank you for this 🙏
Thank you I got them for my house and it works.
First turn your filter around the right way. Throw the hook away and slide the freshener into the edge of the filter. It will stay in place.
This is why the directions confused me. The correct side of the filter didn't have anything to hang the freashner so i modified it.
Thank you!!! I've been struggling for years🤔😬🤯
Me too🤣
Thank you for doing this video
Thank you. I had been doing it wrong all this time.
Thank you for this video. Worked perfectly for me. I saw these filters on Tik Tok and went out and bought it but the direction weren't quite as clear.

It says air flow should hit fragrance gel first.. then filter.. so you have it on the wrong side.

Yes, I change the filter fresh every time I change my filter. (Even though these fresheners do not seem to last very long)
thank u shanika !!!1
Can you add these to window Air Conditioners? If so how do you put them on?
get cut to size carbon filter for wall unit
Thank you
Do they actually work?
I put my freshener between the cardboard diamond cuts and the the filter
