    For anyone watching this video after April 1st (it is currently April 2nd 2024 for me), THIS VIDEO IS AN APRIL FOOLS VIDEO!
    I do explain that this video is an April fools video (as well as giving an important fact) at the end of the video but some people don’t watch the whole video and comment without watching through to the end. That’s why I wanted to clear that up here.
    So happy April fools and thanks for watching! 😂😁

      It was an April fools, the sarcasm was nicely done, it was creative comical and entertaining, but the thing is there's enough truth in there to make it look serious, at least in part.
      My wife is from Ecuador and when you declared they were the same, she was like "yeah" in a somewhat sad but not surprised way, and she's said it before. It's because she's watched Ecuador develop into a place that really does mirror the US in so many ways now, especially limiting freedom and imposing bureaucracy and fees on the gente. We have family there and watch televistazo, 24 hours, y RUclipsrs there. It's kind of distressing, really, witnessing the country suffering from rampant crime and under the burden of govt that wants a piece of what everyone's up to and gives to the people who don't contribute anything to the country. It didn't used to be like that. Go back further and the US didn't used to be like that. So yeah, in many notable ways, they're a lot alike.

    4:55 One thing that I love here in Ecuador is that desserts and sodas are less sugary! Even the Coca Cola taste better because of that (30% less sugar than Canada). Even the bright coloured cakes that looks chemical are in fact not so sweet and contain real fruits. Desserts here are very good.

      @@juliebabin Coca-Cola uses aspartame instead of sugar. It started doing this about ten years ago because the president (Rafael Correa) demanded it. Regular Coca-Coca still has sugar but it’s now in the medium category. Without aspartame it would be in the high category. Sprite doesn’t have any sugar at all anymore.

      30% less sugar isn't going to protect you from diabetes. Nor other metabolic diseases. Look around.
      If you're taking in high glycemic load then a third less ain't doin much, except maybe helping justify continuing. But it catches up with people...
      And Aspartame?? Really? Why risk that?

    Always enjoy watching your channel. I also spent many years in south florida before moving here last year in October. I guess life is what you make it anywhere you go. I love that fact that I can let my dog run free on the beach. Life is good here. Yeah I kind of miss Walmarts and Home depots lol, but I like nature, freedom, happy people and I find alot of that here in Ecuador.

    Well done! Truth is, at the end of the day we ARE the same. There are crazy parts and beautiful peaceful parts. You need to visit the interior of the US - outside the big cities and see the wide, sweeping plains and the Rocky Mountains. But Ecuador has its own unique features and advantages and wonderful, friendly people.

    Hola Ace! Great live podcast! Something that we forgot to mention and it was quite important from a legal perspective -> Yes, Ecuador violated international law by entering inside the Mexican Embassy in Quito to get a hold of a known criminal - ex-VP Glas. But, Mexico also violated international law by allowing that criminal to go into their Embassy in Quito. Before any embassy extends assylum to any individual, they require a criminal background check. The law specifically prohibits embassies to extend assylum to convicted criminals (by competent courts) that are being sought in their country of origin. Mexico knew that ex-VP Glas was a wanted criminal by the Ecuatorian authorities and still went ahead and gave him assylum.
    Is it a violation of a law if Ecuador was correcting a misapplication of a law? President Noboa has shown that he has brass 'pelotas'.

    • @GMAceM
      @GMAceM  8 месяцев назад

      I’ve heard a lot about that and have even seen how one of the Supreme Court justices pretty much gets bought out by million/billionaires so nothing is really too trustworthy there. What I don’t like about corruption over here is that it usually leads to very noticeable crime/deaths. You let one criminal out of jail for a few bucks and then all criminals start getting let out. If the judge won’t let them out or decides to do things right, bye bye old judge and hello new corrupt judge. Rinse and repeat and you get the Ecuador that exists currently.

      I lived in Ecuador. Tell that to the over 100,000 who fled to the US border recently. I understand you believe this to be true, but I can assure you it can be a nightmare. There have been violent home invasions, scams, corruption, and police shakedowns. The minimum wage is $460 monthly, and the economy is a wreck. There are no regulatory agencies and no checks and balances. The US dollar makes it more expensive. You are on your own.

    Having lived in Ecuador for three years and outside the US for 19 years, I can confidently say that Ecuador was the worst experience on every level. I lived in Southern Brazil for four years, and Brazil was significantly better. We now have two YT channels outlining the f***ery, warning others of all the perils.

    • @GMAceM
      @GMAceM  8 месяцев назад

      It’s really saddening to hear that that’s happened. I always hear about how Brazil is so dangerous and yet for that to have been a better experience really says a lot about how bad things were for you here. I always hope that everyone doesn’t have a shared bad experience and only shared good ones. To put it another way, I wouldn’t mind being 100% wrong in every bad thing I’ve warned about in Ecuador as long as it meant everyone who came never underwent anything bad because that’s always the ideal outcome.
