I know a lot of people want to do RUclips full time but I wanted to leave this in to show the pressure it can cause when this is your main thing or job. Being creative can be so much fun and I for the most part LOVE RUclips, but I do find it really draining to force yourself to be creative ALL the time. With the addition of short form content, it feels like you constantly need to be creating now and it really can be confusing figuring out how to prioritize your time, and quite honestly it's sort of taken the fun out of it. It seems like now more than ever you really have to cater to what will work in the algorithm, rather than what you just want to make. I find for myself, every 2-3 years I really hit a wall and find it difficult to creative and make content that I'm proud of. It usually takes a couple months to get out of this rut and try some news things to get to a place where I'm liking what I'm making. I'm trying to take some of the pressure off and just figure out how to get back to making videos that I really enjoy, both making and watching. So this vlog I just wanted to leave in a little bit of how I'm honestly feeling in regards to RUclips, I really try to keep it positive but I've just been struggling with what to do with my main channel lately. thank you guys for watching this vlog!

There's no hope or meaning in the passing of this world. It will all pass away. But God's word will never pass away. He will stay the same forever. He is that rock to lean on. Sometimes, life isn't about making money but about connecting with the creator of the universe. The only way to go to God is if we accept Jesus in our life and make him our Lord and Savior. Don’t you have a different audience from your main channel compared to your VLog channel? I’m guessing you have more women on your Vlog channel and maybe within your age group.
This is one of the things that I see a lot of and it's also the one thing that A LOT OF PEOPLE are leaving in the comments section for the creators that work in the Presidential AI Meme videos on RUclips. It's such a super niche sub genre and those of us who watch these videos know it's very precious and that you often find sooooo many comments saying to these creators to take their time and to take as much as they need to put out the content. In fact, there's almost zero negative content and ironically despite the cursing and trash talking that takes place within the videos, the community of us that watch these videos are incredibly patient and very supportive. Yet, despite it all, we have seen one creator posting a video a week ago saying that they were dropping out and it's very unfortunate because it was very time consuming and they don't find it enjoyable anymore despite the fact they have only made 6 videos, albeit, 6 long videos. (Shoutout to Animerica Podcast, available on Spotify, an anime podcast by AI Biden, Trump, and Obama, and other various heads of state, lol!) Anyways, tldr, recharge, step away if need be, go live life. In a video that I saw a while back from a hiphop artist from Taiwan, he said that an important thing about being an artists is to live properly and to live intentionally. His explantion was, without living, there is no experience. As an artist, without experiences, there can be no inspiration. It's pretty hard to just "create" inside a vacuum. You must live, explore, and experience life in order to share life. Go live.

I agree the video was great. I watched it because I watch all of her videos lol. But as a regular viewer I probably wouldn't be inclined to click on it as it seems it is aimed towards a certain group of people with the words "Content Creator" in the title and me not being a content creator, seeing that title would make me feel it is not of any use to me when there was a lot of information that was beneficial for people who are not content creators as well. Thanks for posting your vulnerable moments! Every industry has it's lull times, so maybe this is just one of yours. It's not a bad thing and doesn't have to mean anything more than just people are off on summer vacations, spending time with family, and not paying attention to the things they normally would. I feel like what I have seen is when you lived alone you may not have par-taken in adult beverages perhaps as much as now that you live with your sister. It is fun, but alcohol is a depressant and causes us to have more emotional and definitely affects us. I know that before I retired, I would only drink occasionally on weekends Fri and Sat because I needed to think critically and be on my A game during the week. It worked for me….maybe you could see how that works for you. Don’t stress over the down turn. Life is full of ups and downs. Just remember all the fun days and vacations you have been on this year. You have a good life when you compare yourself to the average 20 or 30 year old….how ever old you are! Being grateful for seeing the daisy instead of the roots has definitely helped me! It does help when you have a hobby or sport to do when you’re feeling in a funk or not wanting to do your work. My boyfriend and I really got into Disc Golf. I never played but he did and now we play whenever we can. I’m not great at it but learning and having so much fun.

I'm not sure if you're looking for ideas or not, but I've always thought it would be a cool series idea to follow/interview people with "non traditional" jobs or career paths. I just graduated in June from the North Bennett Street School in Boston, America's oldest trade school that is very much thriving and is such a cool creator space. I did the piano technology program, but there is also violin making, locksmithing, preservation carpentry, jewelry making, more. I thought since you have a nontraditional career, maybe you'd be into this idea, I know I'd love to see the trades featured somewhere, because they are very viable.

No idea if you'll see this in the sea of comments (side note: LOVE how supportive everyone is in such a vulnerable moment for you) but your video is a goldmine to creators short on time who would like to maximize their productivity with the tools. It almost CUTS IN HALF the time to edit, reformat for short form content (which we all have to focus on even if we aren't up for it some days, like a lot of days) and declutter a script/dead space. If the thumbnail targeted a frustrated creator or a process (flow) being cut in half, maybe that could give it a new spin to garner more clicks? NO matter what, never lose the confidence in how amazing you are as a creative and relatable person we all enjoy supporting. Have a great few days away from it all!

A testament to your intelligence and insight is that you got full on dudes such as myself watching you putting on makeup just so we can get the latest scoop on the AirBnB market or whatever else is trending lol. Life ebbs and flows, just go with it. If thumbnails give you a lot of stress and take up a lot of your time, I would look into contracting some Fivver artists, give them your ideas, and let them toil with the details all day. Actually I don't think there was anything wrong with the video thumbnail at all... clean, simple and to the point. I don't care about thumbnails that much, because religious follower 😌but maybe it's important for random videos and I don't realize that😋But only 16K views after 3 days, yeah... that made me feel a bit sad when I saw that. Definitely can understand how frustrating it all can be.

For me, the highlight was the different set of tools in this list (than I’m personally used to), although I’m not video edit focused…but it opened my eyes to possibilities. I’d picture the AI thumbnail as a bunch of product logos almost-overwhelming you like you can’t believe all these cool tools exist (& let the GUI/logo colors POP to attract the eye). Good video! Also so happy to hear about Greek yogurt in smoothies….I’ve been wondering about adding it!

seems to happen to most YT creators - YT dominates your thoughts and making room for life becomes secondary. You are at the age where your friends are getting married, engaged, and settling down. Having the camera always in your hand does take away from the moment.
I think the landscape for this kind of content is changing. YT is trying hard to be another app, and their algorithm is broken. They show they same videos over and over again (particularly ones I'm halfway through with), but the reason i didnt finish the video is because i was bored...... so im just not sure how they expect me to click on that video
You've been through a lot of change in the past couple of months. They say moving can be one of the most stressful events. Just take it easy on yourself. You're kind of in limbo right now until you decide where to move in September I think you said. I watched and saved your AI video. I didn’t think I’d be interested but I learned a lot - as I often do - from your videos. Maybe take a little break from the main channel for a couple of weeks. Relax. The more we try to fight the frustration the more frustrated we get. You do an amazing job- but sometimes we need a little space to allow new ideas and inspiration developer. One of the things that I don’t like about these platforms is that they have a way of burning us out and zapping creativity because we are afraid that if we aren’t constantly uploading we will lose our audiences. And we have to focus on the algorithm which affects what and how we create content. This is temporary. Sending hugs.
I use a Zoom H1n to record voices and bands, the Zoom H4n is a decent upgrade, the best part is they run on AA Batteries. If I record a band I can just hit record put the Zoom in My Hoodie pocket and call it good.
You should post a question on the Blind app directed at RUclips programmers and ask if they can explain the algorithm changes and whether youtube is considering the concerns that you and other creators have expressed.

It does help when you have a hobby or sport to do when you’re feeling in a funk or not wanting to do your work. My boyfriend and I really got into Disc Golf. I never played but he did and now we play whenever we can. I’m not great at it but learning and having so much fun.
What happened to the Croatia boat tour that was gonna go on the main channel? I was looking forward to that. Anyways, I hope you can get out this funk soon. Maybe take the summer to just let loose and let the ideas come to you while you relax.
I'm not sure if you're looking for ideas or not, but I've always thought it would be a cool series idea to follow/interview people with "non traditional" jobs or career paths. I just graduated in June from the North Bennett Street School in Boston, America's oldest trade school that is very much thriving and is such a cool creator space. I did the piano technology program, but there is also violin making, locksmithing, preservation carpentry, jewelry making, more. I thought since you have a nontraditional career, maybe you'd be into this idea, I know I'd love to see the trades featured somewhere, because they are very viable.

Hey Shelby! No idea if you'll see this in the sea of comments (side note: LOVE how supportive everyone is in such a vulnerable moment for you) but your video is a goldmine to creators short on time who would like to maximize their productivity with the tools. It almost CUTS IN HALF the time to edit, reformat for short form content (which we all have to focus on even if we aren't up for it some days, like a lot of days) and declutter a script/dead space.
If the thumbnail targeted a frustrated creator or a process (flow) being cut in half, maybe that could give it a new spin to garner more clicks? NO matter what, never lose the confidence in how amazing you are as a creative and relatable person we all enjoy supporting. Have a great few days away from it all!

I'm so sorry you've been feeling frustrated Shelby. I know that feeling well and how it can feel like nothing you're doing is making things better but things will turn around! You make great content that I always look forward to watching. Take breaks as needed though if that helps you regroup and be able to move forward, being kind to yourself and your well being is so important 😊

Life ebbs and flows, just go with it. If thumbnails give you a lot of stress and take up a lot of your time, I would look into contracting some Fivver artists, give them your ideas, and let them toil with the details all day. Unless you like doing that kind of stuff, which I understand can be therapeutic sometimes.

Actually I don't think there was anything wrong with the video thumbnail at all... clean, simple and to the point. I don't care about thumbnails that much, because religious follower 😌but maybe it's important for random videos and I don't realize that😋But only 16K views after 3 days, yeah... that made me feel a bit sad when I saw that. Definitely can understand how frustrating it all can be.

If you need to take a break for a little bit we all be very understanding if you choose to do that and besides that can help jump start more naturally creative side instead of feeling forced. I’d picture the AI thumbnail as a bunch of product logos almost-overwhelming you like you can’t believe all these cool tools exist (& let the GUI/logo colors POP to attract the eye). Good video!

seems to happen to most YT creators - YT dominates your thoughts and making room for life becomes secondary. You are at the age where your friends are getting married, engaged, and settling down. Having the camera always in your hand does take away from the moment.
Fun video idea. AI decides my day. Recipes, a YT shorts to film, and workout to do etc.
I think the landscape for this kind of content is changing. YT is trying hard to be another app, and their algorithm is broken. They show they same videos over and over again (particularly ones I'm halfway through with), but the reason i didnt finish the video is because i was bored...... so im just not sure how they expect me to click on that video

I watched and saved your AI video. I didn’t think I’d be interested but I learned a lot - as I often do - from your videos. Maybe take a little break from the main channel for a couple of weeks. Relax. The more we try to fight the frustration the more frustrated we get. You do an amazing job- but sometimes we need a little space to allow new ideas and inspiration developer. One of the things that I don’t like about these platforms is that they have a way of burning us out and zapping creativity because we are afraid that if we aren’t constantly uploading we will lose our audiences. And we have to focus on the algorithm which affects what and how we create content. This is temporary. Sending hugs.

I use a Zoom H1n to record voices and bands, the Zoom H4n is a decent upgrade, the best part is they run on AA Batteries. If I record a band I can just hit record put the Zoom in My Hoodie pocket and call it good.
