nice to see people embracing the reactivation as an opportunity. great vid. might have to actually pick up some speed paints.
Ah totally it's super! I hope they don't get rid of it when they expand the range!
absolutely... full vid pls. and wow truly awesome techniques
Glad that you like the ideas for the techniques :)
I think a Red Dragon is on the cards for a video!
Full videos for sure! Missed your videos as they are so helpful!
Awesome shall do!! Yes my December was a write off - just far too busy with commissions for others and no time for me and youtube, but glad to be back and i have a lot planned for this year!
Should have a fun creative short video out tomorrow and then its onto a big beastie next week! :):)
You inspired me to pick up a little paint booth for home. Can't wait to try out some of my speed paints in the airbrush
ah amazing! i hope that you have fun using them! What will you be painting?
@@SwordsandBrushes I have a bunch of modular Fantasy minis from the Vae Victis Patreon that I plan to paint up as an extra few skirmish forces for Anthems of War. Up until this point I've only airbrushed terrain with a single action airbrush
Yes pleas for dragon videos with speed paints , be good to see it step by step and which paints you used
Sounds good to me, a few people have asked this now so it would be a nice one to do! :)
A video about the riders of rohan would be awesome
I can confirm that i will be doing one Rohan video in the next three coming up! :):)
Awesome painting!
Thank you kindly! :)
Will have I think 9 (?) big dragon minis to paint in about a month from now and was planning to use my Speedpaints for that! Great to see that it actually works like a charm before I try myself, excited to give it a go!
ooo nice do tell what 9 dragons will they be? :)
Yeh im really liking the speed paints at the moment and looking forward to the next lot when they are available! :)
@@SwordsandBrushes Most of them are from a Kickstarter Boardgame, Arena: The Contest/ Tanares Adventures by Dragori Games (1 in Arena, 5 in the Dragon Collection, 1 Elder Dragon and 1 Gold Dragon). On top of that I'll be getting at least 1 Dragon in my Dungeons & Lasers Encounters Pledge from Archon Studios, I think even more than that :D So it's at least 9, actually. Enough to experiment a bit!
A question while a have you here: Why did you crank up the PSI before blasting the wings of the red dragon? Does it help with the contrast effect or the reactivation to improve the blend? Did not get the reason from the video alone!
It was something that i discovered early on wen using the paints - when i used Speedpaints and pressed the brush harder for a second layer it forced the reactivation to create some nice results. So i just translated that for the airbrushing experiment.
I just wanted to force a reactivation so that it would create a nice blend result :)
I’m letting you know in the comments down below that I’d like a full video on the dragons.
Also very glad I stumbled upon your channel
Awesome, thank you very much! :)
I do love painting up the big beasties!
End is cool - like removing enamel washes with cotton buds.
Yeh it's pretty good :) Ive already got some ideas of what to do with it :)
@@SwordsandBrushesallows for even more contrastl
I would watch you paint dragons. I don't have an airbrush, but I am sure I can make contrast work in a similar fashion
Yeh similar colours and placement will be universal i think - It's just nice showing different methods of painting to get the ideas formulating :):)
would love to see a full video of the red dragon painting...
Theres been a few requests/messages about it so i think it will be pushed forward into a full video :)
The thumbnail cracksme up everytime I see it.
If you like this one, i think you may like the next one i have planned - it will be a full tutorial on the red dragon! :)
You have smaug?? Impressive
I got the little fella a few years ago and he's been sat half finished for a long time - I will make an effort to finish it off in April for our Patreon community challenge! :)
I’d watch a video for the blue dragon for purely research and not idea stealing 😀😅
haha steal away my friend! :):)
Could you show more footage of the white dragon?
I think i recorded a it more for that one, i shall see what i can do :)
I'd watch more dragon painting.
Awesome! Dragons are my favourite creatures so it's a win win! :)
@@SwordsandBrushes I had an ulterior motive. I have an unpainted dragon mini that I want to paint but haven't decided how. The intention is to make it a gold dragon, and I have experimented with metallic paint undercoats and Army Painter speedpaint on some test minis. Also considering whether to get an airbrush. Not sure how I want to go with it but watching more dragon painting could inspire me.
ooo interesting idea my friend! That i would love to see :)
You have given me a couple of ideas for some videos with this airbrush talk, thank you!
I hope that i can inspire you further with the dragon video - it's a nice tool to have and i tend to use it now and again for big stuff and batches of minis to speed things up a bit.
Until the red wings I thought it was Scale75 instant colors since they perform similarly aside from the reactivation.
Nice! I haven't used Scale75 instant colours, how are they?
The only paint i own fro them is a skin tones set i got a couple of years ago and they are nice :)
@@SwordsandBrushes they take some getting used to and need a super matte primer to really take advantage of their properties. A semi satin primer like most standard primers will cause them to pool and run off the high points. They work really well as glazes though! Oh my are they excellent glazes! Best I have.
Hello? Anyone here? Xp
What do you mean? :)
No, we watching the video
