Yeah, it can look pretty amazing. And if you're going for a tabletop standard, just adding a single highlight to each area/color will get you there. The airbrush really is a great time saving tool.

I have tried to basecoat with a brush and I personally Think that doing all the first layer with the airbrush is much easier and faster and I have never had a problem with the layer being too thin. I learned that through Kenny Boucher from Next Level Painting.

I used to paint mini's as a kid, and I was never able to get decent result, so I just got frustrated and dropped it since I just assumed I have no talent. I'm now in my 30's, and after discovering your channel, I learned what I was doing wrong, I went back to painting, and now I'm painting around 2-3 models a week and the results are pretty decent (at least for my standards), and I'm loving every second of it. So again, thank you so so much for helping me rediscover this hobby and actually enjoying it this time.

I practiced on disposable spoons for a little bit, and then got myself used to minis by priming a ton of them. Maybe the spoons trick can save you some money and minis to help you get more comfortable?

Regarding the last technique you showed, the airbrush glazing. I noticed when you did it on the elbows of the model, you had done a kind of small series of underlying lines to show through the glazing. Is that something you should always do when doing airbrush glazing?
Thank you for a crystal clear description of how to do capibases. I've heard of this technique many times but it's been pretty impossible to find a clear and concise tutorial.

Hi, can you please tell me how to airbrush millimeter lines with the kind of pressure you would use and something like ratio thinning, needle size etc. To be able to spray I need to thin down my paints so much that there is no adhesion anymore. I'm tired of trying to figure it out on my own.
Hi Emil, I have been paiting model air for the last few years and i always finish the model with a satin or semi gloss clear coat. I am wanting to getitng into miniatures and have watched many videos but i have never seem anyone use a satin or semi gloss clear coat to finish the model. Why is that?
I watch Sergio use multiple layers and colors for something like skin tone. How do you decide to blend them all, or is it just easier to blend between 2 colors and work your way up to greater highlights?

Once you get comfortable with the airbrush those techniques are super fun. It almost feels like cheating after blending/glazing by brush.
