Lovely find in the little perfume bottle, so see why they are collectible! Enjoying your adventures very much !🦘
Very entertaining adventure 🎉
Definitely a pounce pot. Would have sat in a desk set and contained a fine sand to sprinkle on ink to dry it quickly so avoiding smudging. 😃
Thanks Carla 👍😃x
@@Mudpies 👍
Just what I was thinking, a sand dusting pot (couldn't remember the proper name) from a writing set with ink well, pen holder etc.
Agree, couldn’t find an example on Google though.
Agreed
My spirits always brighten when I watch your vids, the relationship between Father and Daughter is so nice to see! Lots of humour and lots of Love!
Aaah thank you, the banter needs to stay high ! 😀
I agree. This channel is definitely top of our list for those reasons too.
20:54 Your kindness was repaid 😊 what a fabulous find!
🥰
Yay! Good to see you again, Josie and Andy! Congrats on the belters!
Thank you Kathie 👍😀x
Good to see you two out on another adventure. Thanks for taking us along with you, enjoyed every minute. And Josie you're looking really good.
Thank you David! We were out digging again today, loads more juicy finds! 🎉
Weeks have become very boring without you, 😞 you've always been my favourites and I've really been missing you x
Toadeeeeeeyyyy!! Oh gosh I love toads, they are just the cutest.
A beautiful creature 💕
I am sitting here saying to the screen ...it is a pounce pot for setting wet ink so it wouldn't smudge. Alas, you couldn't hear me. My hubs was all you know that isn't a 2 way conversation. Thanks for the laughs and taking us along on your adventure. So jelly, wish we had bottle dumps around here. There was no waste collection here in our area until around the 60s so everyone burned their own garbage in the yard. They also didn't purchase much so far less to burn. We do find the odd broken bits of glass and china. The bottles on the property are more 40s and up.
Hello Biz, it seems quite a few folk think it's a pounce pot so we have learnt something there. The bottle dump is very addictive! In fact it's only the tiredness that tears you away in the end!!! Take care and thanks as always for your support 💞
So happy to see a new video from my favorite father daughter duo! Really neat finds on this treasure hunting outing. Thank you for all you do to take us all along with you.
Hello Sheila sorry it's been a while! Life just kinda got in the way, thanks for your support as always 💕
Happy to see you back again. Missed you two. Another great vid. Thanks for taking us along. Donna/Northern Michigan/USA
Great to see another video, @ 8:22 the blue stoneware bottle might be a Vintage German MKM Max Kruger Stoneware Bottle Cobalt Blue Glaze.
Ohhh just had a look at them… that would have been so nice if it were whole!!
@@Mudpies Yes but it's still really nice as a cut down though 😊
I love it when a find turns out to be a Bucket Lister, the one you Didn't know you wanted.
Totally! 👍
Your mystery find is a Pounce powder pot. You'd find it in a desk set with your boat ink. It was made from powdered cuttlefish and helped dry the ink. Nice to see one whole 🤩
Thanks Susan, we're going to look some of these up now. Would love to see what the complete set looks like 👍😀
@@Mudpies I'd love a set with a proper writing desk.
Have fun delving 😊
I would have to bring a huge wagon with me. I love old bottles and would go crazy!!!
Being a father of a couple 30 yr old boys (Men) I love the dad jokes. Great episode and love to see you two.
He’s always getting me with them! 😂
Great show! always watch to the very end to see your precious kitty 💗😾
Hi legendary squad leader's🌞Missed you two mud Badgers 🤣
Cheers Heather, the badgers are back! Been busy digging today too , take care 😀 x
Plenty good finds, the best find of all were the mud boots, keeping an eye out for each other is what topped it all...
What a wonderful day! :)
Lovvvve digging in this site
Great to see you both out and about again, love the little penny perfume and very kind of it to sit there on the surface waiting for you
Hello Brett, I know it was literally just sitting there, another tide and it would have gone! Hope all is well with you 👍😀
I really love the penny perfume and the pickle jar. The shaker is probably for powdered sugar and if you notice it looks like a pie on the top. I would use the pickle jar for my paint brushes. Great job on the rescue mission. You mudlarks have a wonderful community.
They were so pleased to receive them back. We're hoping to go out on a lark with them soon 😀
A pounce pot is a rare find and very collectable, congrats.
Thanks 👍😊 x
Get your belters out for the boooys 😂
Fist bump to mud boot rescue 👊
Hahahaha
And what a beautiful penny perfume as well. A pounce pot would have been part of a desk set. It would have been full of a chalky powder that was shaken over your letters to set the ink. It would have been twin to a ceramic ink well and maybe a pen rest.
Mmmm that's really interesting Kate, thank you, going to look up some examples in a moment 😀🙏
Love to watch you both. Great finds. The penny perfume was incredible
Thanks so much legend
Lovely to see another dig 👌🏻 I’m always amazed how well your finds turn out after a good deep cleanage, the aquas in the glass are stunning 🤩✌🏻🧡🌈
Nice to show them the light of day! 😍
Great finds guys, I'm glad dad is better.
Thanks Pam, he's a tough one!😀
I am happy to see a new video from you, enjoyed it all, nice bottles especially the penny perfume. Thank you.
Hello Debbie the penny perfume is lit! 💕
the large multi-sided pickle bottle is very nice as is the baby food bottle. nice to see a screw-top appreciated.
Hello Teresa, we were really surprised to see how bubbly the Mellin's was , take care 😀 x
@@Mudpies love the bubbles! so happy to see your video pop up when I woke up. cheers from Portland, Oregon
@@teresahamilton7801 💞
😂😂dad jokes. Still found some belters and a rescue of mudders too, well done guys. Take care and watch the back, cheers for sharing 👍🙏❤️
Salt shaker with cork plug
I think I found the blue stoneware bottle. Antique James B Beam Cobalt Blue Stoneware Bottle. I you enter those words, up will come the same bottle.
Going to look at that now, thank you 👍😀x
Nettles are TOPS in wild greens, Sir. An excellent replacement for spinach!
😂👌
nice video always lovely to see you two work together 😊 greetings Pieter
Your channel is so entertaining! I have been watching your videos for hours each night for the past week or so. You have such a joy in your work and rapport with each other. Not to mention your finds are fabulous. Thank you for sharing your adventures with the rest of us. I also appreciate the research you do on your artifacts; the extra knowledge is great. Keep on playing in the mud. 🙂
it's a Ponce Pot Sand Shaker, from a stationary set.
I think You’re right!
So good to see you guys! Love the ink and the Penny perfume 😀💗 x
Your my favorite mudpie,s mudlarker,s❤😊😊😊😊😊
'Love the penny perfume, also very fond of inks. Glad you were able to successfully retrieve the mud boots.
Wow that creek has some juicy stuff in it, the little perfume is beautiful. Well done guys.
16:07 Always exciting😅 to see those live bottle extractions
# go girl! 💪digging.💖👍😎
Dig ittttttt
Glad that you're back.
🥳
Hi you found a pounce pot !
I didn’t even know these existed! Just had a little research into pounce, thank you
Even down here in australia, i await each episode with baited breath. As a former detectorist down here in aussie, please take care of your backs! ☺️👍👍 Xx
Aaah thanks Liz 🥰
Beautiful Victorian treasure! And love those inks! Best adventure in the dump…
I love your old finders and I also do this in Brazil in old garbage that is more than 150 years old
So nice to see you both again! Great video! What a gift that penny perfume bottle was! Best wishes💐🌟💐
We love it! Another tide and it would have been washed away😍
Froggy went a courtin' he did ride crambone! Good to see you back again.
My fav is the "Blue plate special" and the perfume bottle with lid.
Cheers Chris, I do wonder if we can find out a bit more on the scene that is depicted on the plate . Also it didn't show on the video but there is a gold rim around the plate too 😀❤️
@@Mudpies Then it is a fancy plate! Not dishwasher safe though.
OMG, 12K would kill me lol, I am guessing I may be roughly your pops age as my daughter is 23. However after 30+ yrs of construction I don't run anywhere, I am a walker!! HAHA Thanks for the great video.
The toothbrush with the letter C could be for Colgate, I love the blue glazed stoneware 💙 good deed of the day finding the mudders, great episode guys
Mmmm maybe, we didn't think about that. Thank you mudders are so expensive we really felt for them, just nice to reunite them and meet some lovely mudlarks 😀💪
Woohoo, what a lot of awesome treasures 👌😊 loved everything ❤😊 including that cup/mug that's so cute ❤️🥰 thanks Josie and Andy
Love the little Penny perfume! I’ve never seen anyone find one before. Good job rescuing the mud shoes! You two are cool !
Cheers Hazel. We've never seen one before either! Take care 😀x
I think that might be something they would use when they would iron things. My grandma always ironed and had something similar on a bottle of water to sprinkle water on her linens. She actually used an old soda bottle. It could possibly be for a garden sprinkler bottle. Gramma had one of those for her special flowers.
Hello Tari, an interesting idea, do you have a picture of one? Take care 😀 x
I'm sorry I don't have a photo. I do remember being in charge of sprinkling tho. And handing Gramma clothes pins when she hung things on the line to dry. Good memories. Thanks for the reminder.
Hey lovelies! Missed you yesterday. Great finds. Love the adorable penny perfume, gorgeous design. 😊✌️💪
Hello Karen, we love the penny perfume too, it's quite witchy! 🙂
Dont forget to bury the bones. Hello Josie, hello Andy. It's been a little while since I joined you on a lark. Lots of little bottles (which I love). And even a toothbrush too big for my mouth, so who would have had a mouth that big anyway ? It's a day for the little bottles and big ole hocking toothbrushes. Greetings from the U.S.A. Please say hello to Mama Mudpie.
*SQUELCH SQUADDDDD* Hey guys! Super happy to see you back on cam! Fun to watch you in a different environment, too. Can’t wait to dig into this episode! ❤😊
😍
Wow what an amazing amount of finds today! The penny perfume bottle is beautiful. The other bottles are such beautiful shades of green. Oi..oi from Australia! 😂❤
The item in question is a pounce pot and would have sat in an ink stand,it would have had fine sand or talc to dry the ink and prevent smudging, love the penny perfume, such a pretty little bottle. Look forward to the next video.
Hello 👋 from New York USA you Guy's found Some Amazing Finds my Favorite Definitely Was the Penny perfume Bottle the Little tiny Bottles and the coffee ☕️ mug with the chick's playing music Thank you for Bringing me Along with you Guy's I can't wait to see What you Find Next 😊
After you’ve hand written a fabulous letter, using dip pen and ink from a boat ink bottle. Like the one you just found on your dig. So before the time of the fountain pen and the pen blotter you had to sprinkle fine sand on to the letter, used to dry the ink faster. And that’s what the “salt shaker” is and it’s most likely part of a set. I can not for the life of me remember what they are called. And it’s use is mostly forgotten too. That one you found is quite modern, since it’s made out of porcelain. But if you look at real old writing sets. There’s ink bottle on one side and a similar but with a different opening/lid on the other side. That one is for having the sand in. It was later on replaced with the pen blotter. It looks like a stamp but with a curved bottom with felt fabric on, used to catch up access ink off the paper.
All good finds.
What a morning delight to watch your fun video with my coffee. Loved the little finds and the pounce pot. From a foraging angle, you could get your own back on the nettles by picking the baby leaves to make nettle soup 🤣😂. Wishing you a great week xx
The acid etched neckless bottle sand off around the opening & call it a vase.
What a great dig I really enjoyed this one lots of hard work and lots of great treasures.
Super job & well wishes, for the next great one. 🤎👋💥
Oh dear Andy. You don't look well. Hugs
It's so good to see you are both well! I love the penny perfume! Happy spring!❤ 🇺🇲
Thanks Tracy 😀 x
So happy to see you both 🎉Cheers legends 🎉
👍😄
So glad to see your smiling faces. Let me introduce myself...old guy in the states with your merch and lots of bottles....lol
I tell people that bottle digging and lacking is like Easter egg hunting...but for adults....
Be well and stay safe.
He you guys. Great to see you again. You look great and what beautiful finds again. Please don't be gone so long the next time. O how is your house museum of bottles coming?? Til next time.
What A fantastic day out well done Luv from 🇬🇧
Cheers Jackie 👍❤️
missed you 2. Had something wrong with the phone. Welcome back. 🏴
Cheers 😀
Really enjoyed this installment!!! Glad you both are well!! As ever, looking forward to your next adventure!!!
Hard work paid off. Glad to see you two. Missed you both. I was thinking of a bone wind chime! (Too creepy right!) Loved the treasures but fav was the plate. The scenery is beautiful. Great day out.
Super cool on the mudder rescue. Love you guys. ❤
😂 not sure about the bone wind chime. Although there are so many bones you could make a lot of them! Agree with you about the plate I wonder if the scene is fictional or based on a particular place? Take care 😀 x
That is for Power to spinkel on wet ink to dry it
Good egs nice to help people out and isn't digging your own finds out so satisfying 😊
It was awesome we got a pin on a map of where the mudders were abandoned and off we went! Totally agree about digging it's really addictive 👍😀x
@Mudpies I need to find the link to a site I found online totally by accident it's a weird one but it has a map of britain with tips and when they were opened and close some of the time info is wrong but it tells you the type of tip it was. It's been really handy for my local area and beyond
Awesome finds! I love the design on the plate! I was thinking you could repurpose the bone toothbrushes and make barrettes or pins or even crochet hooks from them. Lovely bottles and beautiful colors! It's so good of you to retrieve the mud boots for your friends! Otherwise a awesome find for someone! :)
That looks like a brilliant dump to be honest! I need to dig my local dump, but it's hard to sneak a spade in! I feel you with the back pain 😬
Hello Richard, it's epic and enormous too! We know it's been dug in the 70's 80's but they couldn't possibly find it all 👍😀x
I love watching your channel regardless of whether you are mud larking or dump diving, because I think your finds are interesting, but mainly because of the exchange of humor and affection between the two of you. You are clearly a father and daughter who care about each other, respect each other and who enjoy spending time together. Perhaps the way to divide up your adventures between mud and dump is to let the season and weather dictate your location. Go mud larking in the cool water during the warmer weather and go dump diving during the cool weather to avoid the thistles and stickers.
Hello Arlene, we love to banter and as we both work busy jobs it kind of all comes out when we go larking! 😂 Good advice about the dump or mudlarking! Take care 😀 x
I agree with you Arelene. We love watching this channel for those reasons too. x
@@moonrakermudlarks thanks guys x
Yo Dastardly Dump Delvers! Great to see you again. Love your finds; lovely stuff. Hope to see you soon, cheers, John.
good fun as always! thank you.
Our pleasure Colleen 😀 x
Nice to see you both. Thanks for another great video.
The white container looks to be a pounce pot they put powder in to set ink after writing. They usually was part of a set. I might be wrong but that’s what it looks like to me.
well done esecially with the mudshoes
Nice dig.
Really enjoyed this video. .looking good, both of you.
Thanks Pati 😃💕
That perfume is amazing but I have to say my favorite is that pickle jar. I never see them in shapes other than round. Glad dad is doing better 👍🏻
It is a pastry pie insert so the pie crust would not sag in the middle.
Really nice finds.. wounderful!
Cheers Peggy 💕
Great to see you both again. My favourite find is the penny perfume. ❤
Poor dad, I know the feeling
I am upset with myself, I missed you upload yesterday and only just watched. Hope you read this brilliant colours, shapes and sizes of bottles, especially the penny bottle. Glad you found the mudders and reunited them and sympathise with you dad and his back, glad he ok now, as I get similar issues and they not nice. Thanks for good vid, look forward to the next
Great haul, love the penny perfume and all the aqua bottles. ❤😊
Great new video👍😁. What a lot of beauties you both find, amazing. Andy‘s Parfum bottle is so pretty congrats.
Great to see you guys back and looking well. We agree with comments by others, the unknown object is a pounce pot. That perfume bottle was a beauty Andy, unique. Look forward to another tramp through the mud.
🥰
Great digging video.
Thanks Jayne! We love digging at this site
YAY!! A new video.
🥳🥳
I am thinking the flower pot shaker is possible a powder sugar shaker.
Loved the penny perfume such a wonderful shape. The cut downs were interesting too and did you find the maker on the dark blue stoneware? or could'nt you read it? The thing with the holes in the top could have come from a china strawberry basket where you would have a little hole for the sugar shaker and one the other end for a small cream jug.
Always love an ink and the Scrubbs bottle was a good colour and with bubbles too. Stay safe and I hope Andy's back holds up for the next dig or mudlark.
