I Don't care what you guys do. Mud, Creek, or dump digging. That brass thing, to me looks like maybe a fuse piece for anti aircraft or something. Awesome video! Thank you!
The ball looks like the pumice from the wand of a Cape Code fire starter. Put it under the logs and light it up! The stone is submerged in a brass pot of kerosene between uses.
You really need a Garrett carrot. So many coins seen on your video, were your dad found the big penny there were 3 more coins he missed. Maybe drag a magnet behind you as you slide along . Great video none the less.😂❤
Hello you two. My son said that your brass ring with numbers is a timecharger (or so) of a bomb nose. He has a complete one in his ww2 collectie. Nice finds ass always.
Mystery brass thing is the timer ring from a shell fuse, the annular channel in it would have contained the fuse powder and controlled the burn time before it detonated.
I loved the leaf design on the large Cheese Keeper you left. Maybe you'll see it next mud Muck and be prepared with something to wrap the handle in before putting it upside down in the bottom of your bag... put smaller bots to bed in the Cheese "Sleeper'!
The brass dial looks exactly like being the dial of a special clock, with minutes and seconds on it. It is used especially for cooking and baking, if your oven does not have an alarm, which goes off at the times, when the cookies should be ready. It is kind of short time alarm clock. I can tell you the German word for this: Kurzzeitwecker. 😘 Try to say this. 😉 Thank you for sharing the experience and have a great day!
What a great slimy lark. You have recovered very good items this week. Always can't wait for your next video. I am awaiting my t shirt and cap. Take care, ❤️👩🦳👩🦳🐾
I was yelling at the telly when you put the Cheese Cover back in the mud. The Acanthus leaf design where the handle attached to the cover and the fact that it wasn't broken or cracked made it a Keeper in my book. It was missing the plate it fit on, but a rectangular plate might not be too hard to find!
alright stoneeveryware nice 😊 excellent choice off colour Dad you nicely blend in 😂 nice finds my favourite is the big one. see you next time greetings Pieter
I thought I liked the digging more but after this mudlark I am split down the middle.Really enjoy just watching the whole father & daughter aspect of your videos!❤
I can hear my late father used to say to us x5 sisters and a brother " when in town keep your window down " meaning to look around all the time as you don't know what is under your feet, whilst watching the video
nice little adventure guys....love the codd. between you guys, ally sherlock, and nikola white, i spend most of my time in that hemisphere. love the brits unique expressions.
Why do gunshots of UK made guns have a more refined sounding bang than the American KaPOW??? Excellent fist bump Blammo. & the whatsit exploded the entire bank of mud w/sound fx !!! Had to watch 3xs each !!! Thank You, again !!! I don’t know, but i wanted the “modern” skittle bot,b/c there aren”t any here,in the States. Cheers you crazy Brits 🇬🇧♾️
@@Mudpies I looked up fire balls because I hadn't a clue what they were. The first web site stated ' fire balls a modern replacement for the fake logs, in ceramic or clay'. The old adage holds true, ' what was old is new again'. Love the creek walks. Great selection of finds.
Mystery Item one, the ceramic with the whole, could be a "float" for a victorian water purification tank. I saw one on the Roadshow. And it was used to regulate the water in the filter tank. The second mystery item could be a timer fuse for an exploding shell of some kind. My husband used to shoot mortars in the US Army and they had timers that looked like that at the end of the timed shells. So maybe those two answers will help?
hI, love your videos, happy to watch whatever adventure your having, mix it up please. Great haul from the creek, don't know how you see the treasures among all those shells and detritus. Cheers, thanks for taking us along for the journey, and have a great week.
What a great stream slog !! Belters and oddities galore 😛😛I haven't got a clue on the numbered dial (?) I go with boaty thing too. I kinda thought the big round thingy might be a decoration off a fancy wrought iron fence 🤔nope, has a hole in both ends, unless a tiny sat on top 🤨😆🙄 Oh dear, there go the bats from my belfry... 😵💫..Loves my funny Mudpies and puss too. Stay safe and healthy, don't care if it's mud, water or dirt next time, I'm there !! Hugs 🥰🥰 xx
I adore your channel for the finds, the fun and the excitement...but...as a 57 year old USA person I watch MOSTLY for the awesome times and outings and experiences with the father/daughter relationship...and I've said it once before and you've commented on it (telling me how you know how blessed you are to be close) so no need to take time to comment again, but it makes me SO HAPPY to watch your adventures and outings. Thank you so much for sharing them!!!
That is a fuses timer from a artillery shell. Would be set to determine when it would go off for example if thy wanted it to explode after it had landed or if they wanted it to go off overhead. This would differ from target to target depending on the distance. Great video again
I wonder if that ball maybe a fishing net weight to hold the net down to the ocean floor or perhaps a warp-weighted loom weight? , either squelching in the mud or digging through the soil, I love seeing your awesome finds you get,
The orb thingie reminds me of an antique my mom and I found in a musty old store in Bull Run Battle Field in Virginia. There was a copper container with an oval version of your orb. It had a wire handle attached which went through and around the oval stove to hold it in place. It was designed to be a fire starter. There would be some flammable liquid in the copper container and the stone, because it was porous would soak in the liquid. Then the stone was lit and used as a fire source to ignite wood in a fireplace or, the other theory was that unlit, it would be shaken over the wood to spread the flammable liquid.…..That is what our was. Yours might be something else!
That's fascinating! Funnily enough we have since discovered that it is a Victorian fire ball, used to lift the coals in the hearth. It's made out of brick clay. So your antique is not so far off ours! Take care 😀💕
Definitely something to do with military bomb (brass ring) my dad has a complete top of one. The other one I’ve no idea other than a weight to hold something down. Awesome finds guys well done, take care and thank you for sharing 👏🙏❤️
Digging is cool but so happpy to see you back at the creek. It’s like that is your individual thing . Love you two and your videos. Always glad to see you too. Donna Michigan USA
Great finds! My theory about the ceramic “ball” is that it was for conking unsuspecting people on the head with a rope through the middle.… possible used by a press-gang.😜
Oh!!! And I meant to add that I love all your hunting trips but I especially like your creek slogging, something I absolutely couldn’t do because I am not mobile much any more. Walking in mud would be impossible. I can participate vicariously.
Hello 👋 from New York USA you Guy's found some Amazing finds my favorite definitely was the two stoneware ink pots Thank you for bringing me along with you guy's I can't wait to see what you find next 😊
Great finds and so many of them and unusual ones too. Great lark. I like all you do as its all so interesting and you work so hard on the dumps. Keep them coming please.😁😁😁
These were all super finds. I would have to list pretty much all of the items for my favorites. I love watching your videos. I don't have a favorite type of trek, though I love the muddiness. Just please keep up the adventures and videos. You are my favorite on You tube for mud larking, both alone and with guests.
Hello Charlotte, Jane at @myordinarytreasure identified it as a Victorian fireball , it would sit in the fire lifting up the coals helping to radiate out heat! A new one for us . Take care 😀 x
Great haul guys! Mystery objects we think are… the clay sphere looks like a fishing net weight. The brass dial, an 18 pdr shrapnel shell nose fuse timer ring from WWI.
Hello there, great spot with the fuze timer. We're pleased with that one. The round clay ball is a Victorian fire ball to lift the coals in the hearth. Thanks to Jane @myordinarytreasure for this. Take care 😀 x
I love the relationship you have with your dad, Josie. You're 2 peas in a pod, both in looks AND personality! Lovely!
I Don't care what you guys do. Mud, Creek, or dump digging. That brass thing, to me looks like maybe a fuse piece for anti aircraft or something. Awesome video! Thank you!
The corked bottle and your reference to it being a Dracula bottle instantly made me recall you both in skeleton costumes last year. 😂
Just you wait till our Halloween video this year😂😂😂x
That beltometre is a bomb fuse dial.
The ball looks like the pumice from the wand of a Cape Code fire starter. Put it under the logs and light it up! The stone is submerged in a brass pot of kerosene between uses.
She throws the strange cylindrical object and it explodes like Gurney Haleck blowing up the shield wall at Arakeen. Atomics!
The sleeper must awaken 👊
I think your brass "dial" has to do with an artillery shell of some kind. I really liked the spectrum of finds
Interestingly that's the second comment that's suggested it's artillery related. That creek has seen a lot of life! Take care 😀 x
Yes, that is what I think, too. Also did I see part of a broad arrow which indicates government property?
Yep! Artillery. SiFinds finds them but not in such good shape.
You really need a Garrett carrot. So many coins seen on your video, were your dad found the big penny there were 3 more coins he missed. Maybe drag a magnet behind you as you slide along . Great video none the less.😂❤
By the way I am from Hamilton Ontario Canada.
The brass mystery item looks like some kind of bomb fuse part. The other one is a No Clue.🤣
Hello you two. My son said that your brass ring with numbers is a timecharger (or so) of a bomb nose. He has a complete one in his ww2 collectie. Nice finds ass always.
Interesting, it does have a solid feel to it. No broad arrow mark that we can see so unsure 🤔. Send us a pic if you can 😀👍x
My link may have been blocked, put shell delay fuse into your favourite search engine.
Probably U.S. then. No broad arrow on our stuff!
@@Mudpies would love to. How can I send you a picture??
@@joncolcord6047 not all components had a broadarrow and certainty none of the German stuff did.
The brass mystery item is a WW1 Artillery shell fuse.... Great finds as usual 👍

Brass dial ring is a delay fuse adjuster on a large artillery projectile. Google old artillery fuse.
I would love to find a BARTMAN jug with that Beltometer ! 😂🤣😂 Love it when you go to the creek, you find lots of treasures. Good job guys.👏
