I tried the half version of this. The block around my house is also 1 mile. Yesterday I got up at 7am and did two laps(2 miles). Then at the top of each hour, I did a loop. In between loops, same as your example, I completed as many projects on my to do list as I could. The plan was to see how many things I could accomplish while covering the distance of a half marathon. 13.1 miles. It took me 11 hours with 2 laps on the front and back end. By the end of the day, I took care of yard work, cleaned the garage, vacuumed, swept, and mopped the floors, cleaned the bathrooms, finished all the laundry, etc. I even prepped dinner so it would be ready in time. The last few miles was a bit of a grind. It was 102 degrees outside (July in Texas) so the heat made it interesting. Beau, I like your style. Thank you for the inspiration.

Three or four minutes ago I was- just slipping into a very deep sleep, and then... The alarm went. So I've gone from being on the verge of real subconscious and lusting for sleep as well, and now I couldn't be any more alive. What a surreal kind of thing really; Running around your block with no torch. Moons out. I feel like a ghost. I can see the barn, twinkling away with it's one light on- what a beautiful beacon to run back to. (Woah, pothole, Jesus)(Almost did an ankle) The man's a poet as well.
What’s completely mind boggling I was reading this comment and he started saying that and I felt like being back in school opening the book to the exact page first try.

Thanks, Revolting. I have no idea, so I'll take your word on it. Yep, did all 24- and then some (set up and pack down, and the buzz afterwards), but man I slept well.
When you fixed and hung that picture and said, “I’ve been meaning to do that for a year; and it was a 10 minute job” (or something to that effect) that really struck a chord with me. I’ve been depressed and anxiety riddled since my husband and several pets died these past two years. I use to love to do crafts and make a variety of different wood projects; but strayed away from them since my depression took hold. This past week I’ve done several small projects (looking for ideas on RUclips) and it’s probably the reason this was in my recommended feed. Getting done even a small project has already helped my depression. I have a lot of physical medical problems, so I can’t run as far as you did; however, you’ve inspired me to do my own version of this. *THANK YOU* for inspiring me and *congrats* on everything you accomplished!!
lol I'm the opposite. I completed 2 of my first year uni courses in 2 weeks. I kinda thought there'd be more too them, so wanted to get in early in case. Turns out, nope, that was it. course complete. If it's something i'm interested in, i'll get stuck in and do it the second i'm aware of it, then move onto the next thing. The downside is, unless i'm working with someone equally driven/focused, I usually piss coworkers off. As I don't stop until it's complete. So it comes with pros and cons... IMHO, this personality type (of 100% focus 100% of the time) usually ends up being solo work, there's just no room for other people.
I haven't slept for 31 hours today because of this. Sometimes it feels like I never learn, because I delayed work the same way several times before and it always sucked.
I watched this video at 2 AM and then I went out and ran a mile for the first time in probably 4-5 years. Feel like I'm going to die, but thanks anyway.

You literally motivate me every day. From making my bed or baking bread, to the more difficult things, he is an inspiration. Thanks mate. I owe you more than you can ever know.
Seeing him split the log while standing on it and promptly fall over makes me agree with you... I think painting or other creative work is a great idea for the later hours though, your brain goes to a totally unique place when you're very tired and I think it would be great for rattling you out of usual mental habits.
This may very well be my favorite video on the Internet. Saw this a few years ago, and it really did put things in motion. Thanks for your inspiration brother, you’re bloody brilliant.
Yep. I can understand decomposable food, as those nutrients (like from a banana or apple) feed small critters, but not trash like plastic wrappers or beer cans.
And the trash people throw while in Indian railways is a whole different game. Not just trash but people spitting out the window. You don't even want to place your elbow in the window because it's all red with 'paan' spitting.

This video is somehow the most inspirational things I've ever seen. My perspective on life was changed more in these 17 minutes than at any other point in my almost 17 years of life. This video has encouraged me to want to live my life so much more productively and to appreciate the small milestones in life. to anyone reading this, good luck on your marathon of life and I hope you run it well.
Having done this a week ago I can say I feel a lot healthier and happier. I didn’t make it to the end though. I got 20 miles done, 65k steps total adding the work in between running, and I fell asleep before I could finish. I’ll complete the challenge sometime in the next 6 months with more training before doing it.
There was a lot of axe swinging in this film and combined with an urgency to achieve multiple tasks, running 26 miles and extreme fatigue none the less. I would have been dead or at the very least fingerless.
@@DesignerFromMars Thanks for the chat Designer and Andric. I have a new version of this coming out in 2020, where I'll be wearing gloves and steel socks.
I've watched one documentary of Beau's everyday for the past 4 days and he seems to be such a pure human. Not a superhuman, but a raw, human, human. He builds things, maintains things, connects easily and wholesomely with others, creates grand dreams and makes them a reality; not only through his execution but the filming and sharing of them with the world, for free. One thing about his endurance feats, that is truly inspiring, his how he finds a way to endure, seemingly, intense suffering and discomfort with grace and often gratitude. He seems to have an unshakable determination and an indomitable mind and will that makes his adventures so compelling. It echos the core of the human spirit: chasing horizons, pushing personal limits, returning home with an epic story to tell and a perspective transformed, and most importantly not taking oneself so seriously that you can't enjoy a beer on the side of the road, (edit) and second most importantly whether your on an African beach or sleeping in your gum tree, there's never a reason to not brush your teeth. Cheers Beau, thanks for sharing all this with us

Beau .. we (my wife, myself, Noah aged 17 and Matilda aged 10 .. who has messaged you b4) have just replicated yr 24hr marathon with jobs and raised nearly £2,000 for UK mental health charity. We loved it and tried to mirror the type of jobs you undertook on our small farm. Thank you
Wonderful stuff, Nigel. Well done and congrats on the initiative. Lots of good folks all over the place doing their version of things, and I love it. Best to Noah and Matilda.
EarlyBirdNerd that’s a foolish thing to say. It’s actually the opposite. This man has no obligations and is free to do as he pleases for a full day. People who say they are too busy likely are obligated to do their tasks such as school or work which take up a large portion of a persons day.
BananaBoy Banana Well this was an experiment so of course this isn’t a real situation. My point is that we usually use the excuse “I’m too busy” when we have maybe one thing that’s asked of us. Instead of making an excuse we could try to maximize the time in our day to make it actually happen. If this guy can build furniture, sew clothes, plant 24 trees, spend time with his wife, make bread and soup from scratch, and fix things around the house, I don’t think I can take 15 spare minutes to clean my bathroom. Productivity with no excuses!!!
SpaghettiToaster well of course. That wasn’t the point of my statement. He basically showed us what we’re capable of as human beings when we take advantage of the time that we have. Can you imagine how much you could get done on a day off if you put in as much effort as this guy did? Basically if we took every opportunity to get things done, we’d probably have more free time in general.
@@agamersjournal I do know how much I get done in a day and I have put in as much effort as he did on many occasions. People who say "I'm too busy" are probably doing exactly that. I don't know where you got the idea that most people are lazy, but be assured, people actually work very hard.
This guy's level of willpower and resilience is something I look up to, and I hope that by the time I'm his age I'll also be able to willingly push myself to the very limit without giving up. Thank you for being a role model man.
Mohamed Amine Koubaa I mean, it was half a joke. I don’t have a job, I know, kinda sad. But I forced myself, like a little over a month ago, to wake up early and surf 3x a week, so I have a lot more energy now. Thanks!
We'll, that's just empowered my day for sure.. just without doing the marathon part.. Has to be said, I did a renovation on my property, took me almost 2 years to do it all myself, but the day by day improvement is noticed, and so thought provoking with the sense of achievement at the end. So good to see other people with determination, when other people are so happy to usually criticise your efforts. Keep it up! You bloody champion 🏆
The amazing thing about this is that this scale of experimentation is something most any of us could do. Most of us have the weekend - a Saturday for doing absolutely anything we’d like and a Sunday for recuperating. But more in general, I just think this inspires me to be more free to do anything my mind even thinks of. It’s just really inspiring seeing Beau doing these experiments and adventures. Really reminds you just how free we can be with the time we have.

I have a lot of physical medical problems, so I can’t run as far as you did; however, you’ve inspired me to do my own version of this.

lol I'm the opposite.

Seeing him split the log while standing on it and promptly fall over makes me agree with you...

I don’t think anyone can ever legitimately use the excuse “I’m too busy” ever again....except for maybe this guy.
@@agamersjournal You can't be up 24 hours a day every day you know?
SpaghettiToaster well of course. That wasn’t the point of my statement. He basically showed us what we’re capable of as human beings when we take advantage of the time that we have.
