Being a baritone is actually a blessing. There are more possibilities to build your range upwards than downwards, if your vocal folds are short, your low end will be limited no matter what you do. As a baritone you have the chance to build up an overall larger range than a tenor could, provided you put in all the work to achieve that. Good video, thanks! :)
new age delinquent Singing low notes with a rich timbre is quite impressive and working on your technique will enable you to reach high notes in a register that works for you. It takes some time to make it sound good but this will happen quite naturally if you invest the time and effort, no worries! You can develop a good range as a bass as well.
My friend is a trained baritone and his range is E2-A4 (2 octaves and 3 semitones) while I just started singing 2 months ago and my range is F2-C5 (2 octaves and 4 semitones) I’m an untrained tenor

Great video, Phil! I agree that most of my male students think they are baritones before they start lessons and then they usually end up as tenors when they have learned to coordinate the breath. And also everyone can learn to expand their range, even bases and altos! The key is learning how things feel when coordination is achieved. This just takes time and practice but everyone can learn. :)
you did a very nice job making this video. I thought it was especially well-balanced. some of my early voice teachers years back were exactly as you described. I was classified as a tenor 2, they would instruct me to go into my falsetto right around that F above middle C. because they were based on 17th century curriculum, they never really took into account the expanding of the range or learning mixed voice as it would apply to modern singing. I learned the better ways from other teachers later on and developed as much or more range than I ever needed. I especially like that point you brought out that range is not as important has the overall tonal quality, style, in all of those things that truly make a great artist. Keep up the awesome work.
Tenors sing more in ranges girls and women can sing. That's who the music Industry makes the most money off! Baritones like Teddy Pendergrass and Jeffrey Osborne can sing that high C no problem. Tone and feeling while telling stories musically in tune are paramount.
I haven't trained my voice after it changed almost at all, only have done singing karaoke at home by myself. My range is D2-G4 or even A4 if I really squeeze it but I prefer not to go over G3 as G2-G3 is very comfortable for me. During singing I also use E2 and D2 more often than C4.
Voice types matter a great deal. Sure, a person can learn to hit higher notes. A baritone may indeed be able to sing higher notes than most tenors, but the way in which they accomplish this will be vastly different. Also, the size of the voice is crucial. There are men and women attempting to sing songs that require a much heftier and robust voice when their natural instrument is light.

No, voice types don't matter at all. Everybody has their own unique voice and everybodies voice can't be put into a box. Forcing people into voice types limits them into a box and for that they think they have to stick to one genre of music and they don't expand their herizon. If voice types matter a great deal we would't have a wide variety of singers we have now. Imagine if Bruno mars limited himself to a voice type would be famous has he is now? What if micheal Jackson limited himself to a voice type or beyonce limiting herself to a voice type would they all have been good singers? No. Puting to much emphasis on voice type limits your abilties and hinders you for improving in areas you lack.
Very true and great presentation! Just one thing I'd like to add. The low range is actually a much better measure of voice type compared to the high range, even early on with only a little training in the lower range. The vocal folds can stretch greatly to reach higher notes even on low voices, but their ability to thicken is a lot weaker. The standard "bel canto" ranges are still inappropriate though, as even many tenors can usually reach the "bass E2". But basses can usually go down to something like G1 at least, still louder than speaking volume, and without resorting to pure vocal fry. Tenors often have difficulties going down below D2 without getting breathy or going into pure vocal fry. Baritones are somehwere in the middle. Vocal fry vs. full voice is easy to test by changing sound color, as vocal fry usually requires a very dark sound color to make the pitches.
Good points Phil. So many points I personally believe. The sweet spot. YES!! For me it's the difference between "hitting" a note and singing it. I prefer feeling a song rather then listening to how high someone can "hit" a note. A great blues player once said, "It isn't the notes you know, it's what you can do with them." The larynx tilt? Yes, stretching the cords. I liken it to a guitar and stretching the string by bending them to go higher. So the larynx becomes the finger on the string!! So many good points. Thumbs up Phil. :)

Yes, I totally agree that it is mostly light baritone/heavy tenor and light mezzo/heavy soprano that are most likely to be misclassified. But the "he" I was making reference to was the guy who made the video. I am 100% in agreement with both you and Robert; not so much the guy who made the video
I don't agree that there are very few baritones, and that most guys are tenors. There are more baritones than tenors; however I do agree that a lot of low and heavy tenors get misclassified as baritones if a teacher does it too early. But still I don't believe tenors are more numerous than baritones
I know so many male singers personally that go around thinking that they are Baritones simply because they either been told that they were one or they sang that particular part in a choir or group. People will just tell them to stop at F4 or G4 because of the whole Baritone thing and some others will sing the high notes of a Tenor in moderation.
I agree 110%. My vocal teacher told me a story. When she first started singing and went to her voice teacher, they classified her as an alto. She's been singing 18 years now and is now a high soprano and sings opera. Amazing voice. When I started singing, I was a...well...nothing. I started piss poor with no range at all. I slowly formed an ear for music and loosened up the ole chords and now i'm a dramatic tenor. "oh you're a dramatic tenor, you have everything easy!! :(( " Hold up there slugger. There is A LOT I cant do. A dramatic tenor range is ~ Ab2-B4. I cant belt up to C#5 sometimes and sustain it if I warm up right. Just because someone is a tenor doesn't mean they automatically have the voice of an angel.
yeah. The big misconception is people think "if you have a low range it means you're a baritone/alto" when it's just that they haven't tapped into their range and developed it.

Hi phil! I used to think that way as well. What about countertenor? And you said in another video that we need to warm up our mixed voice in order to make it happen. But I can sing in my mixed voice even when I in the morning on my way to school. I just feel comfortable.
I am learning to hit high notes in vocal studies as a mid range tenor who started as a high range baritone that sang a few baritone songs and sang one low tenor song in high school. That was a reason why I started being a baritone singer in my first year of singing only find that I am developed towards being a tenor singer. My sweet spot is E3 - A4. I am studying to become an opera singer who can crossover into musical theatre and pop music. Thanks for making this video.

I can sing the lowest bass note so I always thought I was bass .. But just sang "ahh" for the tenor high c but completely lost my tone with "ee" vowel ... Do you give 1 on 1 training
Yo phil, guess what, 3 months ago, I could only sing up to f#4, I tjought I was a doomed baritone. After 3 months of practice, I can now sing up to c5. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and motivating me 😊😇

You probably won't and honestly who cares. It won't affect your ability to increase your range. Even low voice types can learn to sing high. Get the right expert training and you won't be worrying about this stuff.
You really can't tell when you're young or first starting out. You need to develop good vocal technique with the range you currently have; then your range will expand. Also, you will learn what area you can sing consistently well in all the time. That area will determine your voice classification

Phil, you are definitely a baritone. You can tell with your speaking voice and the fact that your natural break was F4. You have used your mix to greatly improve your range, but you would definitely be classified as a baritone based on the timbre of your voice.
I tend to agree with you buddy especially NOW vs this super old video. My speaking voice has gotten a lot deeper and heavier just as I've gotten better at understanding my voice over the years.
Man that's true, I am baritone and I can hit D5, BUT I lose my timbre beauty in B4, my highest note which sound good is A4. So yeah voice classification doesn't matter for notes, but notes isn't the most important. Voice classification is timbre, tessitura and passagio, all metal baritones I know don't sing higher than A4 because it will be ugly, not natural, without original timbre and beauty.
The most confused ones are people with voices like me.... I have a very mid heavy voice...niether teen sounding nor too manly... Just stuck in the middle... We are always confused if we're baritones or tenors cause we kinda sound like both
9:57 this is so true. Before I learned how to mix, I can only hit F#4 but it's so strained. But after, I extended it up to Eb5 which is crazy (I'm still shocked till this day). After what happened, I just think about the quality of my tone and the sweet spot you're talking, like I don't really care about hitting those high notes. Right now, I'm focusing on my tone and the ease of hitting A4's up to D5's, making them sound better and much more reliant and vibrant. I would say that the compression is such a magicial thing that happened to me and I stretched up my mix up to Eb5 just for 4 weeks! Again, you're such a great vocal teacher and you know what you're talking about. Thanks

I suspect I am a high tenor, so my voice sounds very light, sweet and "cute" on those high notes, I guess we all want what we don't have, but just telling them, hey! you sound good too!
I use to say that the 99.9% of guys are tenors. The other .05 are baritones, the other .01 are bass and the last .04 are Tenors, but due two reasons they dont know what they really are: first of all, they dont know and believe they are tenors, and the second reason they dont know the way to awake tenor voice.
Can't we just determine a person's voice type according to their passagio? If his passagio is in E4 so he is a Tenor, or if B3 so he is Baritone and soon? Why must we wait until voices are well developed?
+Zul Qarnain Abdullah because the voice changes as it is strengthened. The "break" will shift up to about the A4-C5 for most males and E5-G5 for most females I train. My break used to be on F4 now it's on C5.
Based on my years of comparing voices, mr. Phil fits as either a 'dark dramatic tenor'. If not the only other possibility is he is a spinto tenor. Either way he's in tenor territory, unlike me Im a genuine baritone. But believe me, even with this voice, ive got to thank mr. Phil, ive been able to sing high a, b, and c's, and add brightness to my voice (which naturally a tenor has). Ive been starting to achieve these "tenor-like" qualities. Thank you mr. Phil.

Hi Phil. I refer to myself as a male mezzo as my range is (E3) F3-G5 (A5) My falsetto starts about A5...I think.....but everything below thay is chesty/mixed. Is this common for males?
My range is quite weird. With chest voice i can reach from D2 to Eb4, with falsetto or something i can go from D4 to G6. They consider me as a sopranist, but i don’t like it because i can’t sing Shawn Mendes or smth
This is a stage almost everybody passes through cause of the reasons you explained and because people want to feel they belong to a group and measure with the others. Who would have known if the "WOW" tenor high c was back then at 432 hz and therfore was easier than today. Or what if it was suddenly a tenor high D, i mean change octaves every D note. I believe a big part of it, if not all, is in the mind, might sound like a catchy line but many times we set our own limits. "The highest note for the baritone is an F." ....WHAT???!? "You go down to the local singing teacher and as soon as you hit that break they say "that's it". The internet makes me cringe, and frankly be terrified for the vocal health of the naive and easily trusting.

Initially my voice broke at C4 but after my technique developed I could hit an Eb4 and broke at an E4, I have also hit an F4 in chest voice with through engaging my diaphragm. Am I a baritone?

I get the thing about the sweet spot,,, I have sung a couple of years... and is naturally a bass-baritone and hence hit the passagio fairly quick,, One song that I do is "she works hard for the money",, by Donna Summer,,, The lead singer in my band is a higher pitch baritone (his voice sits around one to two half notes higher than mine) and he can sing that song in D-minor, but I feel he tends to pulls chest (pushes to much air through) to much in that key.. I do that song in a half note down at C#-minor and still have to mix a lot at the notes above D#4. I can sit at home and do the song in D-minor but my baritone voice just do not have any nice resonance when I get to D-minor,, just a half note make a lot of difference,,
+dansk björn a half note for sure can make a lot of difference. Singing cover songs is like trying to put on a jacket that wasn't made for your body. You have to custom tailor that jacket and make it fit you so you can look good in it! This means being an ARTIST and taking liberties to alter the arrangement to fit your voice. We never stop to think WHY the original artist chose the key they did. It was because it makes their voice sound the best. So why put ourselves through the torture of trying to sing in an area that DOESN'T make us sound good? Make yourself sound good ALWAYS!
It depends on the level of development. For those with extremely weak voices it can be around C4. As they get stronger it will move around to F4 - which is where most people encounter their major struggle. Then as the voice is developed further it will tend to move up to A4 area, then later C5, then E5 etc.
Sam Middleton falsetto and head voice are different so if you are falsettoing that G6 it can be potentially dangerous, just stick to what you can sing comfortably like C6 or D6 those are my highest comfortable notes, it helps strengthen your range
I think i`m a baritone, i`ve hit A1 and E6, but doesn`t sound too good. I guess i`ll get better with time, but it`s a bitch to have progress so slowly!
im 15 and my chest voice range is f2-g#4 i dont know how to use head voice because im completly untrained what would that make me peopld also say i have a very light voice for my age
Exactly. When I started I could barely sing E4 or F4 without hurting my throat. Now my break has shifted all the way until A4 after I have learned how to use the correct breath support mechanism to relieve tension around my vocal cords.
I have made amazing progress in singing in a short period of time. I had a other great teacher but just came across your video and thought I would also make a comment in regards to whats being said. Before any training I thought I could be a bass but we went through where my most comfortable spot was or tessitura and it seemed to be baritone so I went with that starting out but continued to do exercises and worked on my range. Now I can also go quite high like you but also also have low notes like a baritone but it’s maybe too early to say for sure whether I should be a “baritone” or “tenor.” Tho my voice still seems naturally heavier either like a baritone or perhaps one of the lower tenors depending how you look at it and how my voice continues to develop. Thanks for sharing your experience and insights.
Edit: you can make your voice heavier or lighter etc and control your sound but people naturally have more heavier and lughter or what u call “dramatic” vs “lyric” voices. It doesnt mean I can’t sing gently, or have good musicality, but my voice has a different quality than yours nothing wrong with that at all :)
i think i can sing in my "head voice" but i can't seem to feel a full voice and i can't transition from chest to head and i got a lot cracks after singing in my head voice and it also sounds so airy, i feel like i used the wrong technique , what should i do?? my head range is around G4-E5

Okay, so with the help of your videos, I have actually managed to mix my voice (thank you, by the way). I'm pretty damn sure I'm doing it right, but there's one outstanding problem. It sounds pretty bad. It has a nasally, whiny, and overly twangy tone to it, as well as it being extremely unstable and wobbly in the notes above my break (F#⁴). I've experimented with both my mouth and diaphragmatic tension and pressure, and I can't seem to fix either problems. I've seen that you have 1 on 1 Skype lessons, however the price is above me. Don't worry though; I'm not attempting to press you for a free lesson. I'm only hoping that, with my explanation, you can give me some form of insight into what I could do to amend these two problems I'm having.
Just thought I'd let you know I've worked on my mix alone since my last comment, and basically figured it all out lol. All thats left is to make it completely reliable. I thank you for your channel. They helped a bit.

I already have a video explaining how to breathe without tension which you can find here: www.grow-the-voice.com/how-to-breathe-properly-for-singing.html , but whether it helps you or not depends on what you are expecting to get from your breath. A lot of singers are under the impression that breathing better is the "secret" to good support . Breathing and support are actually two different things. Support is an actual muscular engagement while breathing is, well, breathing.
I watched that vid, and it did help me breathe right. I have a problem with how much breath to use while singing, because sometimes it feels like I'm using too much air.
Phil Moufarrege That's what matters but when it comes to classification, I think there definitely is something to timbre and tessitura. Many use the fach as a cop out to not have to work at it to improve. I embrace the sweet spot and venture out too and for me I definitely consider myself Bari.
I would LOVE to train a bass. I've never had the pleasure of training a real one, though I get many who claim to be basses and end up being somewhere between hi bari and low tenor ;-) If you are a real one I would love to teach you and show the world what a bass can do when he is fully developed.

I don't disprove it because I can sing with Matthew Fouche in his Channel for bass singers. Haha! But I can't understand my voice fully yet. Because sometimes I can sing higher depending on the song mostly when im singing Frank Sinatra or Matt Monro and I feel comfortable singing songs of The Carpenters. I sometimes think that my voice is just moody. hahahaha! It has a lot of conditioning to do. Like complete sleep and exercise before singing. I tried singing tenor in our choir but it feels strained everytime and I break into falsetto. I think I might have damaged my voice badly already.-_- My friends have been helping me to gain range but When I sustain a high note in just 2 secs. or less it breaks and will turn soundless but air is still produced in my mouth.:'(

True baritones are pretty rare. People need to stop taking fachs out of their proper classical context.

I prefer feeling a song rather then listening to how high someone can "hit" a note. A great blues player once said, "It isn't the notes you know, it's what you can do with them." The larynx tilt? Yes, stretching the cords. I liken it to a guitar and stretching the string by bending them to go higher. So the larynx becomes the finger on the string!! So many good points. Thumbs up Phil. :)

I don't agree that there are very few baritones, and that most guys are tenors. There are more baritones than tenors; however I do agree that a lot of low and heavy tenors get misclassified as baritones if a teacher does it too early. But still I don't believe tenors are more numerous than baritones
I know so many male singers personally that go around thinking that they are Baritones simply because they either been told that they were one or they sang that particular part in a choir or group. People will just tell them to stop at F4 or G4 because of the whole Baritone thing and some others will sing the high notes of a Tenor in moderation.
I agree 110%. My vocal teacher told me a story. When she first started singing and went to her voice teacher, they classified her as an alto. She's been singing 18 years now and is now a high soprano and sings opera. Amazing voice. When I started singing, I was a...well...nothing. I started piss poor with no range at all. I slowly formed an ear for music and loosened up the ole chords and now i'm a dramatic tenor.

Hold up there slugger. There is A LOT I cant do. A dramatic tenor range is ~ Ab2-B4. I cant belt up to C#5 sometimes and sustain it if I warm up right. Just because someone is a tenor doesn't mean they automatically have the voice of an angel.
yeah. The big misconception is people think "if you have a low range it means you're a baritone/alto" when it's just that they haven't tapped into their range and developed it.

Don't worry about the high notes if they are too high. Work on the verses. Pay attention to getting a very clear sound. Use this video of mine as a tutorial on how to train these types of songs:

The reason I'm recommending this way of training is because the problems you're facign with your voice won't be fixed with the styles of music you're currently singing. IT sounds too much like talking. You need to get into songs that have sustained notes, vibrato and fade ins and fade outs on the notes. That's what will make you sound like you're SINGING instead of talking.

I am learning to hit high notes in vocal studies as a mid range tenor who started as a high range baritone that sang a few baritone songs and sang one low tenor song in high school. That was a reason why I started being a baritone singer in my first year of singing only find that I am developed towards being a tenor singer. My sweet spot is E3 - A4. I am studying to become an opera singer who can crossover into musical theatre and pop music. Thanks for making this video.

Hey phil my vocal range is. C3-f4 (f5 in falsetto) but my vocal break is at D4. A lot of teachers have told me I'm a baritone but my timbre is light like justin biebers. How do I truly know if I'm a tenor or not?
You probably won't and honestly who cares. It won't affect your ability to increase your range. Even low voice types can learn to sing high. Get the right expert training and you won't be worrying about this stuff.
You really can't tell when you're young or first starting out. You need to develop good vocal technique with the range you currently have; then your range will expand. Also, you will learn what area you can sing consistently well in all the time. That area will determine your voice classification

Phil, you are definitely a baritone. You can tell with your speaking voice and the fact that your natural break was F4. You have used your mix to greatly improve your range, but you would definitely be classified as a baritone based on the timbre of your voice.
I tend to agree with you buddy especially NOW vs this super old video. My speaking voice has gotten a lot deeper and heavier just as I've gotten better at understanding my voice over the years.

Man that's true, I am baritone and I can hit D5, BUT I lose my timbre beauty in B4, my highest note which sound good is A4. So yeah voice classification doesn't matter for notes, but notes isn't the most important. Voice classification is timbre, tessitura and passagio, all metal baritones I know don't sing higher than A4 because it will be ugly, not natural, without original timbre and beauty.
The most confused ones are people with voices like me.... I have a very mid heavy voice...niether teen sounding nor too manly... Just stuck in the middle... We are always confused if we're baritones or tenors cause we kinda sound like both
9:57 this is so true. Before I learned how to mix, I can only hit F#4 but it's so strained. But after, I extended it up to Eb5 which is crazy (I'm still shocked till this day). After what happened, I just think about the quality of my tone and the sweet spot you're talking, like I don't really care about hitting those high notes. Right now, I'm focusing on my tone and the ease of hitting A4's up to D5's, making them sound better and much more reliant and vibrant. I would say that the compression is such a magicial thing that happened to me and I stretched up my mix up to Eb5 just for 4 weeks! Again, you're such a great vocal teacher and you know what you're talking about. Thanks

I use to say that the 99.9% of guys are tenors. The other .05 are baritones, the other .01 are bass and the last .04 are Tenors, but due two reasons they dont know what they really are: first of all, they dont know and believe they are tenors, and the second reason they dont know the way to awake tenor voice.

Can't we just determine a person's voice type according to their passagio? If his passagio is in E4 so he is a Tenor, or if B3 so he is Baritone and soon? Why must we wait until voices are well developed?
+Zul Qarnain Abdullah because the voice changes as it is strengthened. The "break" will shift up to about the A4-C5 for most males and E5-G5 for most females I train. My break used to be on F4 now it's on C5.
Based on my years of comparing voices, mr. Phil fits as either a 'dark dramatic tenor'. If not the only other possibility is he is a spinto tenor.
Either way he's in tenor territory, unlike me Im a genuine baritone.
But believe me, even with this voice, ive got to thank mr. Phil, ive been able to sing high a, b, and c's, and add brightness to my voice (which naturally a tenor has). Ive been starting to achieve these "tenor-like" qualities. Thank you mr. Phil.

My range is quite weird. With chest voice i can reach from D2 to Eb4, with falsetto or something i can go from D4 to G6. They consider me as a sopranist, but i don’t like it because i can’t sing Shawn Mendes or smth
This is a stage almost everybody passes through cause of the reasons you explained and because people want to feel they belong to a group and measure with the others. Who would have known if the "WOW" tenor high c was back then at 432 hz and therfore was easier than today. Or what if it was suddenly a tenor high D, i mean change octaves every D note.
I believe a big part of it, if not all, is in the mind, might sound like a catchy line but many times we set our own limits.

Initially my voice broke at C4 but after my technique developed I could hit an Eb4 and broke at an E4, I have also hit an F4 in chest voice with through engaging my diaphragm. Am I a baritone?

I have sung a couple of years... and is naturally a bass-baritone and hence hit the passagio fairly quick,, One song that I do is "she works hard for the money",, by Donna Summer,,, The lead singer in my band is a higher pitch baritone (his voice sits around one to two half notes higher than mine) and he can sing that song in D-minor, but I feel he tends to pulls chest (pushes to much air through) to much in that key.. I do that song in a half note down at C#-minor and still have to mix a lot at the notes above D#4. I can sit at home and do the song in D-minor but my baritone voice just do not have any nice resonance when I get to D-minor,, just a half note make a lot of difference,,
+dansk björn a half note for sure can make a lot of difference. Singing cover songs is like trying to put on a jacket that wasn't made for your body. You have to custom tailor that jacket and make it fit you so you can look good in it! This means being an ARTIST and taking liberties to alter the arrangement to fit your voice. We never stop to think WHY the original artist chose the key they did. It was because it makes their voice sound the best. So why put ourselves through the torture of trying to sing in an area that DOESN'T make us sound good? Make yourself sound good ALWAYS!
Great stuff, Phil. Quick question: where would you say the average break is for low and mid tenors?
It depends on the level of development. For those with extremely weak voices it can be around C4. As they get stronger it will move around to F4 - which is where most people encounter their major struggle. Then as the voice is developed further it will tend to move up to A4 area, then later C5, then E5 etc.

because I use my mix voice I can belt up to A#5 and I'm a tenor and my lowest voice D2 and my highest falsetto/HV G6. overall D2 - G6
Sam Middleton falsetto and head voice are different so if you are falsettoing that G6 it can be potentially dangerous, just stick to what you can sing comfortably like C6 or D6 those are my highest comfortable notes, it helps strengthen your range

Phil's right. After I've learned breath support I've started to hit a4 and C5s wtih ease. And I'm a low voice type.
Exactly. When I started I could barely sing E4 or F4 without hurting my throat. Now my break has shifted all the way until A4 after I have learned how to use the correct breath support mechanism to relieve tension around my vocal cords.

I have made amazing progress in singing in a short period of time. I had a other great teacher but just came across your video and thought I would also make a comment in regards to whats being said. Before any training I thought I could be a bass but we went through where my most comfortable spot was or tessitura and it seemed to be baritone so I went with that starting out but continued to do exercises and worked on my range. Now I can also go quite high like you but also also have low notes like a baritone but it’s maybe too early to say for sure whether I should be a “baritone” or “tenor.” Tho my voice still seems naturally heavier either like a baritone or perhaps one of the lower tenors depending how you look at it and how my voice continues to develop. Thanks for sharing your experience and insights.
Edit: you can make your voice heavier or lighter etc and control your sound but people naturally have more heavier and lughter or what u call “dramatic” vs “lyric” voices. It doesnt mean I can’t sing gently, or have good musicality, but my voice has a different quality than yours nothing wrong with that at all :)

Okay, so with the help of your videos, I have actually managed to mix my voice (thank you, by the way). I'm pretty damn sure I'm doing it right, but there's one outstanding problem. It sounds pretty bad. It has a nasally, whiny, and overly twangy tone to it, as well as it being extremely unstable and wobbly in the notes above my break (F#⁴). I've experimented with both my mouth and diaphragmatic tension and pressure, and I can't seem to fix either problems. I've seen that you have 1 on 1 Skype lessons, however the price is above me. Don't worry though; I'm not attempting to press you for a free lesson. I'm only hoping that, with my explanation, you can give me some form of insight into what I could do to amend these two problems I'm having.
Just thought I'd let you know I've worked on my mix alone since my last comment, and basically figured it all out lol. All thats left is to make it completely reliable. I thank you for your channel. They helped a bit.

, but whether it helps you or not depends on what you are expecting to get from your breath. A lot of singers are under the impression that breathing better is the "secret" to good support . Breathing and support are actually two different things. Support is an actual muscular engagement while breathing is, well, breathing.
I watched that vid, and it did help me breathe right. I have a problem with how much breath to use while singing, because sometimes it feels like I'm using too much air.

Phil Moufarrege That's what matters but when it comes to classification, I think there definitely is something to timbre and tessitura. Many use the fach as a cop out to not have to work at it to improve. I embrace the sweet spot and venture out too and for me I definitely consider myself Bari.

Because sometimes I can sing higher depending on the song mostly when im singing Frank Sinatra or Matt Monro and I feel comfortable singing songs of The Carpenters. I sometimes think that my voice is just moody. hahahaha! It has a lot of conditioning to do. Like complete sleep and exercise before singing. I tried singing tenor in our choir but it feels strained everytime and I break into falsetto. I think I might have damaged my voice badly already.-_- My friends have been helping me to gain range but When I sustain a high note in just 2 secs. or less it breaks and will turn soundless but air is still produced in my mouth.:'(
