@wowitsthatkid1029 they wore the hip boots until like 95 but my father, a 36 year veteran and ex chief and still an active member in north brunswick nj bought his first pair of bunker pants in 1984. my dads friends stepson was firefighter billy lake in rescue 2 but he was ,ost in 9/11. im a junior member
in either this show or the on scene with rescue 2 a firefighter named louie valentino passes away...that was my good friends brother any chance you have both of these in full length so i can find him and show him...much appreciated, i believe its either this on or your video from on scene
L-104 is lucky if they go to a fire like that once every 10 years nowadays . That Northwestern part of Brooklyn in Div.11 hardly ever gets fires anymore & the busy parts of Brooklyn in East NY & BedStuy hardly ever get fires like in this video . The day’s of NYC burning are long gone , those guys from the war years saw so much work & These young gung ho FDNY guys go to medical runs & BS stuff all day now It’s sucks ! The good old days are gone for good , it’s sad in a way I liked when NYC was burning there was nothing that could compare to it ..... A young Fireman that wants to see heavy volume of work nowadays has to go work in Detroit , West Baltimore or St.Louis .
I got to meet Lee Ielpi at the 9/11 Tribute Center on 9/11 in 2013. Great guy and what great things he has done.
