It's amazing when you look at RES1CUE in this video then today in 2012. Gosh, such an evolution like this is amazing! The rig, just a beautiful Ferrara! And the team! Can't forget the team on board the lone rescue company of Manhattan! They're just an amazing team of dedicated firefighters who put their lives on the line at every Manhattan inferno, just like they did on 9-11-01 when John Moran made the ultimate sacrifice...his life for others. God bless RES1CUE!
wow, its amazing when you look at R1 in this video, and then look at it today in 2011, its amazing how its evolved. beautiful rig. amazing team. god bless fdny, you smoke eaters.
Hey do you guys see the simiularity between Rescue Me characters and those guys? Amazing video! R.I.P. all the firemen who gave up their lifes on 9/11 and other causes to save other people
Worked in the same Battalions with Tommy and John...they came from great houses in the 38 Battalion...Good Firemen !. Hey Rescue....taking up, what about the line ? LOL
@snakes3425 thats the crazy part..I remember this show when it came on fox..Moran seemed like the cool brainy type with those big school boy glasses...and now hes gone...
NEWARK Fire Dept. has set many records including fighting the most fires in a one week period @ 300 plus working fires, July 1967, and sets the record for catching a woman in a rescue net, the woman jumped to safety from an 9 story window as no aerial could reach her. Pound for pound the NFD is one of the finest fire departments in the country, often severely tested with budget cuts, yet they get the job done everytime. My Dad knew many FDNY firefighters and officers, he was an NFD Battalion Chief. Both departments have have quite a history. God bless all fallen firefighters, these men put their lives on the line so others could live. Thank you.

I love that mack chassis with a rescue body
It's always hard to watch these pre-9/11 documentaries about the NYFD, and not wonder how many of them went into the towers on 9/11 and never came out
Agreed, its kinda sad
I watched a post 9/11 documentary about FDNY Rescue 1 and 2. I was watching and listening for familiar voices, faces, and names.

Kevin shea was injured on the first World Trade Center incident in 1993
Warren Forsythe I believe was injured during or after 9/11 or something liek that. And was forced to retire just like Kevin Shea was after the bombing

Rescue 1 responded to Manhattan 2nd alarm box 1459 at 202 Lexington Avenue
Newark NJ would have been the first. Newark was search light 1 and FDNY beat them to it calling themselves rescue company 1.
