  • Here's a complete, start-to-finish take, featuring my Gretsch Brooklyn drums outfitted with a set of Evans Hydraulic heads on the toms and bass drum. (I used an Evans Genera head on the snare)
I have not used Hydraulic drumheads since 1988. So, it feels sorta like the first time I've ever played them.
    Drum Sizes:
    Bass Drum - 18x22
    Rack Toms - 7x10 & 8x12
    Floor Tom - 14x16
Snare - 5x14 (USA Custom Aluminum)
    Cymbals- Paiste 602 Modern Essentials
    HiHat: 15"
    Crashes 18" & 20"
    Ride: 22"
    - Music Provided by Epidemic Sound: "Devil Disguised" by Torii Wolf
    - Video filmed (and drum track recorded) at Secret Cove Studios (SecretCoveStudios.com)
**If you made it this far through the comments, this video is actually an experiment. I am uploading a complete drum performance of a song, very similar to what I would play on any studio client's song, and the only novelty here are the cuts to any one of the 5 cameras we used to film this performance.
I didn't put any commentary on here. There are no fancy visual effects. I'm not going to even bother making any eye-catching thumbnail for this video. The only time I've spent on platform is typing this description for you and selecting appropriate keywords for this video.
The goal here is to compare this video's performance against other videos I make from this same performance that feature editing, content additions, commentary, and other "best practices" that are reported to usually perform well with RUclips's algorithm.
If you got this far through these comments and understand why I'm putting up this video in this form, leave a comment below and let me know that you read this. (It's also an experiment to see what percentage of viewers will actually read the included comments to the very end.)

I came here to listen to your hydraulic heads, but I've got more than I anticipated. Great, solid, pocket drums. And yes I did read to the end. I'll be subscribing to your channel.

Awesome!! Twins! 🤜🏻🤛🏻 So many reasons why, right?! 1) Definitely looks better. 2) Makes it a lot easier to position your rack toms closer together, espxially in the studio where Inuse that rack. 3) Makes it a whole lot easier (and gives your more real estate) to use any of those mics that clip on to your rims on a live gig.
I’ve done the same on two of my USA Custom kits. Haven’t regretted it one bit! 👍🏻👍🏻 thanks for noticing!
