Jake mentioned on one of his Rennvision videos that he did not approve use of any short shifters due to risk of missing a shifts or worse, mechanical overrevs. Is the numeric shifter an exception? If so, why? Thanks

We've never had an issue with that. These tend to make the shifting points much stronger than factory so I'm not sure why there would be a concern there.

Looking to do this same build. Did you all also install the Raceseng adapter with the slammer or does the regular slammer come with the red collar?

They all come with the adapter, the colored collars are optional.

Yes, there is a version compatible with the 986. It's the same as the 996: flat6motorsports.com/products/numeric-racing-short-throw-shifter-996
